Bad news, the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders at My Nintendo Store in the UK appear to have sold out after a few hours of availability. The product was previously only available via invite, but Nintendo opened the floodgates to more general pre-orders earlier today.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is highly anticipated and subject to heavy levels of demand in both the US and UK. This has led to many retailers selling out quickly, but there have been occasional restocks over the last few weeks.
If you need a quick reminder, a Nintendo Switch 2 console by itself goes for $449.99 / £395.99 / AU$699.99. There's also an official bundle that throws in a digital copy of Mario Kart World and costs $499.99 / £429.99 / AU$769.99.

We've now got Switch 2 pre-order listings live at Newegg, with an option to sign up for notifications.
Antonline is a rank outsider right now for Switch 2 pre-orders, but the retailer usually gets in on the action at some point, so it might be one to keep in the maybe pile. It usually goes big on bundles, too, so that could be an attractive element if it wraps up some of the accessories too.

Not a retailer I'd expected to cover or include, but given it had stock soon after pre-orders went live, it's another one worth keeping to hand!
ShopTo went early with its offer to take registrations of interest in the Switch 2, and it remains a viable retailer option, when its stock returns.
The PC-focused retailer has popped up with two of its own listing pages for the Switch 2, and offered stock fleetingly last week, so it is absolutely worth throwing into the mix for future checking and restocks in the UK.

LIVE: Latest Updates
And now the console is gone
After a few hours of availability, it seems like all Nintendo Switch 2 stock at My Nintendo Store in the UK has dried up.
Both the console and the Mario Kart World bundle are now showing as out of stock. Hopefully there will be some more units up for grabs soon...
Stock is starting to falter...
Bad news everyone, the Mario Kart World bundle is now showing as out of stock for me on the My Nintendo Store.
It's no surprise that this edition has sold out first, as it seems to be the most popular way to buy the console, but the good news is that the console on its own is still readily available - provided you have that Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
You can check it out below.
- Nintendo Switch 2: pre-order for £395.99
Nintendo has updated the eShop ahead of the Switch 2 launch
Nintendo has just updated the Nintendo Switch eShop's discoverability system, seemingly as part of an attempt to try and filter out cheap shovelware games.
Before the update, the digital storefront counted the number of games sold over the past 48 hours and ranked them in the charts. Now it ranks games based on revenue from sales in the past 72 hours instead.
This should, in theory, prevent those annoying super cheap spammy games that you always used to see clogging up the eShop's charts page from showing up quite so often.
Not long to go...
There's not long to go until the Nintendo Switch 2 launch...
It's set to launch on June 5, 2025 - that's exactly 29 days away! It just feels like yesterday that the console was announced, time really flies.
This is great news if you have already secured a pre-order, but means that there isn't that long to go if you have yet to get one.
I suspect that we may be nearing the last of the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order stock that will be available, so capitalize on any chances to buy if they arise.
You're options right now
If you're just tuning in to my live coverage, then you're in luck as there is currently a surprising amount of Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order stock up for grabs in the UK.
My recommendation is to head straight to the official My Nintendo Store, which has the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle in stock. There is a big catch though - you need to be a Nintendo Switch Online member to buy.
If you don't have a membership, The Game Collection has a mega bundle up for grabs. It's expensive, but not the worst value around. See all the details below.
My Nintendo Store
- Nintendo Switch 2: pre-order for £395.99
- Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World: pre-order for £429.99
The Game Collection
- Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle with Carry Case, Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman WOA + 256GB SD: pre-order for £624.95 at The Game Collection
There's a decent offer over at Best Buy - for members
Sticking with that membership theme, there is a decent little offer available over at Best Buy if you are a My Best Buy Plus or My Best Buy Total member.
Right now you can get up to $100 back in rewards when you buy select Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch games and accessories. Some gift cards are even included. You get $20 back for every $150, which might sound like a lot to spend in one go but with how expensive games are now it adds up quick.
For example, a pre-order of both Donkey Kong Bananza and Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition comes $139.98. Throw in Street Fight 6 Year 1-2 Fighters Edition, and you're looking at $199.97.
$20 back on that is certainly nothing to complain about and, given the lack of any major discounts elsewhere, might be the closest thing we get to a discount ahead of launch.
Is that bundle worth it?
If you're currently weighing up whether to pick up that bundle at The Game Collection, then one of the biggest questions on your mind is inevitably going to be whether it's worth it.
Here's a breakdown of everything it contains, and how much it all costs at retail price, so you can decide.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle - £429.99
- Carrying Case and Screen Protector - £20.99
- Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition - £59.99
- Hitman World of Assassination - Signature Edition - £54.99
- 256GB microSD Express Card - £49.99
All tallied up, that comes to 615.95. Now this bundle is selling for £624.95 - so you're basically paying £9 for the convenience of getting it all in one go, not to mention actually being able to buy a Switch 2.
Is this worth it? It depends how much you want what is included, and how much cash you have on hand.
The Game Collection Bundle is back!
Another restock here in the UK, this time from The Game Collection. The retailer has another bumper bundle up for grabs, with loads of extras to enhance your Nintendo Switch 2 experience.
You get the Nintendo Switch 2 console (with Mario Kart World), the official carrying case and screen protector, a copy of Hitman World of Assassination and Cyberpunk 2077, plus a 256GB officially licensed microSD express card.
It's a bit expensive, at £624.95, but could be worth it if you were likely to pick up these items at a later date anyway
- Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle with Carry Case, Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman WOA + 256GB SD: pre-order for £624.95 at The Game Collection
Some accessories are out of stock at Walmart
A sad update if you're in the US and want to get your hands on the official Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case and screen protector.
It looks like that particular product is now out of stock at Walmart, suggesting that it might be a lot more popular than originally anticipated.
I would always recommend getting your hands on a carrying case and screen protector for any expensive tech. After all, it's a relatively small amount to pay compared to a full Nintendo Switch 2 repair or replacement if you drop it.
If you see stock elsewhere, definitely jump on it, though I expect Walmart will have some more in soon.
Will the US follow?
The surprise decision to allow pre-orders for those without an invite in the UK has me wondering about what's going to happen in the US.
Will the American My Nintendo Store start doing the same? Right now the site still directing users to retailers like GameStop, so I'm not entirely sure. Maybe there is just more stock available in the UK on Nintendo's side for whatever reason.
I'll be watching the situation in the US closely to keep you up to date.
Members only, I'm afraid
I wasn't expecting a stock drop today, especially not from the official My Nintendo Store, so I'm really pleasantly surprised to see some availability outside of the invite program.
The important thing to note about this latest batch of stock is that it is only available to those with a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
I have one on my primary count, so can see the option to buy - but switching to a secondary account I am greeted with the message "A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to purchase this product."
I assume that if you were to run out and buy a membership right now, you would unlock the ability to pre-order - so that might be worth trying if you don't have one.
Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are live right now in the UK!
Code red! Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are now live at the My Nintendo Store in the UK. The official Nintendo retailer previously required you to sign up for an invite to buy, but has now opened the floodgates and is allowing almost anyone to purchase.
There's no word on how long stock is going to last, so I would recommend heading over there right away. One thing to note is that you do require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, though.
- Nintendo Switch 2: pre-order for £395.99
- Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World: pre-order for £429.99
