You’ll find that Dell NZ’s online store comes out with new laptop discounts every Friday, and now that Intel’s 12th-gen hardware is readily available, we’re even seeing price cuts on machines with the newest silicon. That includes everything from XPS machines to Alienware laptops, and we’ve highlighted a few choice deals below.

If you’re after a gaming laptop, we’ve spotted huge discounts on a number of Alienware models, with up to NZ$1,768 off available right now. If it’s a premium work machine you want, a number of configurations of the lovely XPS 13 have seen a price cut and, again, they’re packed with Intel’s 12th-gen processors.

We’ve pulled together our hand-picked highlights below, but if you can’t find what you're after, go directly to Dell’s online store to see if the laptop, desktop or monitor you want is on sale.

This gaming laptop is stylish and powerful, packed with an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU which performs amazingly well. It’s also strapped with an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The 15.6-inch display has a 165Hz refresh rate with support for Nvidia G-Sync, so you can expect it to be great for 1080p gaming. Now NZ$760 off.

Alienware m15 R7 | Ryzen 7 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD / RTX 3050 Ti | NZ$3,099 NZ$2,479 (save NZ$620)

Dell has also discounted the Alienware m15 R7 with AMD’s Ryzen CPU, and this model’s got a Ryzen 7 6800H chip. That’ll give you some serious power, but it’s only got an RTX 3050 Ti for a graphics chip, which won’t meet everyone's needs. You’ll still get Nvidia G-Sync support and a 165Hz screen refresh, and it’s NZ$620 off.

Alienware x15 | i7 / 32GB RAM / 1TB SSD / RTX 3070 | NZ$5,199 NZ$3,431 (save NZ$1,768)

This is a seriously powerful gaming laptop, outfitted with an Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics card, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It features a previous-gen Intel processor though, so you’re getting an Intel i7-11800H CPU instead of the new 12th-gen chip. If that doesn’t faze you, you’ll save a massive NZ$1,768 on this model.

Dell XPS 13 Plus OLED (9320)i7 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSDNZ$3,499NZ$2,974

Dell XPS 13 Plus OLED (9320) | i7 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD | NZ$3,499 NZ$2,974 (save NZ$525)

The Dell XPS 13 Plus is an extension of the classic XPS line, with a super stylish design, thin bezels, sleek keyboard and borderless trackpad. For the screen, it’s got a stunning 3.5K OLED (with HDR support). It’s packing an Intel Core i7-1260P processor, and when we reviewed the model with an Intel i7-1280P, we did find it prone to overheating. Still, NZ$525 off makes it more appealing.

Dell Inspiron 16 (5620)i5 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSDNZ$2,199NZ$1,451

Dell Inspiron 16 (5620) | i5 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD | NZ$2,199 NZ$1,451 (save NZ$748)

If you want something more affordable, you could turn to Dell’s Inspiron line, and this particular 16-inch model comes with the latest internals. Under the hood is a 12th-gen Intel i5 processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, so you’ll be able to breeze through most tasks. The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, so it’s got a taller screen than usual.

Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 (7420)i5 / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSDNZ$1,999NZ$1,499

Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 (7420) | i5 / 8GB RAM / 512GB SSD | NZ$1,999 NZ$1,499 (save NZ$500)

We gave this laptop a five star review in our testing, so you can trust it’s excellent, and it’s even more appealing with this NZ$500 discount. We found it performs well in most areas, and that’s largely thanks to its 12th-gen Intel i5 processor. It’s only equipped with 8GB of RAM, but that should be fine unless you’re doing demanding tasks.
