iPhone SE price: How much does Apple's small iPhone cost?

Apple is launching a 4-inch iPhone, and it has a cheaper price

Apple announced that its new iPhone SE price is smaller today, just like its more compact dimensions, meaning it'll save both your grip and wallet from strain.

No, it still won't be rank very high on our best cheap phones list, but for an iPhone, it's now the most affordable in Apple's increasingly diverse smartphone lineup.

It essentially replaces the iPhone 5S, which makes a lot of sense. The SE design takes cues from the 2013 handset, with a 4-inch display and more boxy, easier-to-hold body.

That said, it's a way better deal than the iPhone 5S because it contains most of the specs found in the current iPhone 6S that's more expensive in the US, UK and Australia.

iPhone SE price in the US

Shopping for a phone in the US can be confusing, as popular American carriers like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile insist on breaking down device payments over various months.

In reality, an unlocked iPhone SE will cost you $399 SIM-free for its 16GB size. It's now an option to buy it this way from the Apple Store on day one. However, there are other ways to pay.

AT&T has it for $13.30 a month for 30 months, while both Verizon and Sprint offer it for subsidized at $0, but will rope you into a costlier two-year contract. T-Mobile wants you to buy it outright for $399.

Want to more accessible 64GB model? AT&T is charging $16.64 a month for 30 months, while Verizon and Sprint want $49 upfront, and T-Mobile and SIM-free options are $100 more at $499.

The iPhone SE UK price is £350 for 16GB and £439 for 64GB. It's obviously a lot simpler across the pond, where Apple's new phone can be had without a contract through the Apple Store.

The same easy-as-Apple-Pay pricing scheme applies to the iPhone SE Australia price, which comes in two flavors: AU$679 and AU$829.

In both cases, VAT and GST tax is included in the price. The iPhone SE price in the US doesn't include taxes, so expect to pay a bit more money via hidden fees in the end.
