The iPad Mini 4 was announced during the Apple conference last week and then quickly forgotten about - even Apple didn't seem to want to talk about it much, with most of the attention focused on the iPad Pro.
The team over at iFixIt has got its hands on one of the new tablets and stripped it right back to the bare bones - the only way to truly understand what is inside an Apple product. On the outside it's pretty much identical to the iPad Mini 3, but under the hood it's remarkably similar to the iPad Air 2.
In terms of screen, the iPad Mini 4 comes with laminated glass to make the display thinner than ever before, and comes in at 7.9 inches with a pixel resolution of 2048 x 1536. The iPad Air 2's A8 chipset with M8 motion co-processor is included along with an 8MP iSight camera and a 1.2MP front-facing snapper.
All told, if you're interested in the iPad Air 2 but don't mind a slightly smaller device, you might be better opting for the Mini 4 instead.
