Black Friday MacBook deals 2025: when they start, what to expect, and the models we recommend
I expect record-low prices on some of our favorite models this year
Right now, MacBook sales are surging. Mostly due to the enforced migration from Windows 10, but also because Black Friday MacBook deals are just around the corner. Experienced deals hunters will know that MacBooks are always popular over the holiday season and nearly always on sale.
As always, it's worth getting prepared ahead of time if you're going to buy this November. MacBooks aren't the cheapest machines on the market, so it's worth doing the research to make sure you're getting the right model. That's why I've put together this guide to help our readers know exactly what to expect.
This is the page I'll be using to round up all the best Black Friday MacBook deals when the time comes, but for now, it's simply laying out the best buying advice I can think of. I've attached the models that we're expecting to recommend the most heavily over the sales period, as well as information on retailers and refurbished deals - if you want to explore that particular option.
While you're here, don't forget to check out our main Black Friday deals hub page for early deals on everything from TVs to air fryers. You can also check out our Black Friday landing page for highlights, news, and other features from our team of experts.

As TechRadar's retail editor, I've been advising our readers on Black Friday deals for over five years now. I've covered laptops and MacBooks since the start, so I'm well placed to give our readers tips on how to save as much cash as possible. Of course, I'm not just drawing on my own experience, but also the myriad buying guides and reviews from our team of experts here at TechRadar.
Black Friday MacBook deals: FAQ
When will Black Friday MacBook deals start?
- Early sales first week of November
- Peak deals one week ahead of BF
Generally speaking, it's the trend for retailers these days to start their Black Friday sales event way ahead of the big day itself. Black Friday 2025 is on November 28th, but I would expect MacBook deals from the first week of the month onwards as retailers look to cash-in on the early bird shoppers.
I'll certainly be rounding up any early Black Friday MacBook deals right here on this page, and I'll also be sure to include any price guarantees if I spot them. These guarantees are crucial if you're shopping early as they'll stop you from getting undercut later in the month as the sales ramp up.
What models does TechRadar recommend?
TechRadar has tested every single MacBook model from the past few years, and you can see our full best MacBooks 2025 buyers' guide for a full rundown of our top picks. As an overview, however, I'll attach a small guide of what models we currently recommend, as well as the kind of deals I'm expecting over Black Friday for each model just below.

Apple MacBook Air 13 (M4)
The latest MacBook Air is a fantastic place to start for most users. Outwardly similar to the previous model, the M4 nonetheless features the latest (and most powerful) chipset alongside a reduced MSRP of $999 / £999. Even without any deals, this one is a bargain, and the fact that it's been as low as $799 / £849 in recent months makes an almost must-buy in terms of MacBook deals. If you see a price lower than that over Black Friday, then you're simply getting a great deal on a machine that should last a few good years down the line.

Apple MacBook Air 13 (M3)
The slightly older M3 MacBook Air is still available at most retailers, and it's a potential dark horse for the upcoming Black Friday MacBook deals. It's mostly been superseded by the newer M4 chipset variant, but if you can get it for cheap, then by all means, we still recommend this model. In particular, keep an eye out for the variants with higher RAM and storage configurations, as those can sometimes be reduced heavily in clearance deals over Black Friday. In some cases, they can be significantly cheaper than the latest model - making them a great buy if you know you'll need more than the measly 256GB SSD that comes with the baseline MacBook Air.

Apple MacBook Pro 14 (M4)
The latest MacBook Pro M5 models have literally just been released, so I'm expecting the slightly older M4 variants to be where the Black Friday deals sweet spot is this year. Right now, the record-low price for these pro-grade machines (which are still amazing) is $1,299 / £1,419, so I expect a few clearance deals to breach that this November while stocks last. We think the latest iteration is a relatively minor upgrade from this model, so the M4 chipset Pro still gets a major thumbs-up from us if you're looking for a powerful machine.
What retailers should I check?
- Amazon in the US and UK
- Best Buy and Currys also fantastic
- JB, Mwave, and Good Guys in AU
Amazon has a decent track record for MacBook deals all year round, so naturally, it's the first port of call if you're looking for a price cut over Black Friday. Generally speaking, Amazon has the most consistent and most frequent record-low prices on the latest models - which other retailers tend to price match after the fact.
On that topic, it's worth checking out competitors like Currys in the UK or Best Buy in the US as well. Best Buy, for example, often has excellent trade-in rebates that you can stock on top of upfront discounts as well as exclusive savings for My Best Buy members. If you're eligible for these, then you can usually save several hundreds of dollars over Black Friday.
One retailer that I usually don't recommend is Apple itself. The official store usually only offers gift cards with its products over Black Friday rather than upfront discounts. Trade-in rebates are usually good at Apple, but those are available all year round, so it's not particularly newsworthy over the holiday season.
Are refurbished deals any good?
They can be quite good, but refurbished products span a wide range of conditions from simply returned 'open box' items to heavily reconditioned and repaired items. It's important to check the fine print carefully if a price looks to good to be true.
Where you buy the debice is important, too. Apple's own official refurbished store page offers a wide range of professionally repaired and checked models with extensive warranty options. Another great option is the specialist site BackMarket, which
