Watch Glastonbury 2023: preview

Even at the eye-watering price of £340, Glastonbury is the hottest ticket in music, which is precisely why so many of us have to settle for tuning in from our sofas. Maybe next year, eh? On the bright side, it beats a tent. You can flick between the different stages at your leisure and, best of all, you can use the facilities without running the risk of something unspeakable.

Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses and Elton John are the headline acts, with the sun set to go down on the Rocket Man on Sunday evening. It'll be his last ever performance in the UK – quite a way to make a splash at your first Glastonbury appearance.

Queens of the Stone Age, Blondie, the Chemical Brothers, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), Fatboy Slim and, ahem, Rick Astley are some of the other big names in attendance, though there's almost as much intrigue around who might be there as those who definitely are.

Even your smuggest music nerd friends can't claim to have heard of The Churnups, who've been given a prime slot in between Texas and Royal Blood on the Pyramid Stage on Friday evening. They might, however, be speculating on their true identity. the Foo Fighters is currently the leading theory, with Pulp and Hozier the other two surprise acts predicted at Woodsies on Saturday night at 6pm, and on Friday at 7.30pm respectively. Stay tuned to BBC iPlayer to find out.

Whether you couldn't afford a ticket, got sabotaged by the website or just didn't fancy it this year, you can still watch almost everything Glasto has to offer. Read on as we explain how to watch Glastonbury from anywhere – starting with how to watch Glastonbury for FREE in the UK. We've also listed the full Glastonbury lineup for the main stages further down the page, as well as the Glastonbury weather forecast.

When is Glastonbury 2023?

June 23-25 are the main Glastonbury 2023 dates, but Worthy Farm will open its gates a couple of days before the madness really takes hold, on Wednesday, June 21.

Glastonbury weather: sunshine or mud bath?

It's less than 24 hours until Worthy Farm opens for business and the Met Office has described the weather as on a knife-edge with Pilton right between two weather fronts.

Nevertheless, Glastonbury weather predictions for this year are pointing toward near-perfect. It's looking like light showers for Wednesday, then largely sunny and warm with a little cloud cover for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with blue skies all over on Sunday. Follow the live Glastonbury weather forecast.

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Glastonbury 2023 coverage: can you watch every act at the festival?

The BBC is the sole TV broadcaster on site and while it's not quite televising absolutely everything at the festival – bear in mind there are absolutely tonnes of shows – it does have you covered for all five main stages over the three festival days. That's around 120 different acts across the Pyramid Stage, Other Stage, West Holts, Park and Woodsies.

Those sets will be available to watch live but you can also catch-up on-demand for 30 days after Glastonbury ends. All of the coverage from the Pyramid Stage will be in Ultra HD.

Head over to the Glastonbury page on iPlayer and you can pick and choose whatever's live on any of those stages as well as catch-up on anything you've missed.

Glastonbury 2023 coverage: can you listen on the radio?

As well as the 40 hours of TV coverage, the BBC will be offering a whopping 85 hours of live radio airtime to Glastonbury 2023 across Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6 Music and even a live broadcast of Woman's Hour from the festival on Radio 4 too.

For the real music junkie, though, it's BBC Sounds that you'll want. The BBC's music, radio and podcasts platform will host a huge raft of Glastonbury 2023 special programmes to listen to including celebrations of many of the headline acts – and that's before the festival has even got going.

Then, from Wednesday, June 21, you'll find non-stop Glastonbury 2023 coverage as well as daily Best of Glastonbury playlists and listen on-demand festival content by the tonne.

The best news? BBC Sounds is free to listen to anyone in the world, where you are. Go and take a look now.
