Black Friday and Cyber Monday mini PC deals: Frequently asked questions

When does Black Friday and Cyber Monday start and when does it end?

Black Friday 2025 began on November 28, with sales running throughout the weekend. Most mini PC deals will draw to a close at the end of Cyber Monday on December 1.

How do I choose the right Black Friday and Cyber Monday mini PC deal?

There's so many different mini PC configurations and specs, it can be tricky to figure out which one is right for your use.

If you're looking at Apple's mini PC, opt for a machine like the Apple Mac mini M4 - alongside productivity tasks, we found it excellent at photo and video editing.

If it's a Windows mini PC, it can be useful to get one that can be upgraded. If you can get a better processor or more RAM, it's worth the investment for seamless performance. But these are the minimum specs I recommend looking for.

U-series and H-series - what's the difference?

When looking at mini PC deals over Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you'll come across processors appended with either a U or a H (or HX or HS). What does this mean for you?

U stands for Ultra-low-power. These processors are tailored to efficiency and best-suited for business use like opening office apps and browsing.

H stands for High Performance. These CPUs are designed for long-term tasks without throttling performance, and are ideal for tasks like video editing and gaming.

HS (High Performance Slim) chips run at a lower wattage than H-series chips, but still deliver similar performance and efficiency. I think of them as the middle-ground between U- and H-series processors.

HX (High Performance Extreme) is the absolute best for performance, and are best for professional-grade creative workloads and higher-end gaming.

Do I need a graphics card?

If you're a business user, you're unlikely to need a discrete (or dedicated) graphics card. It adds to the expense and it's not required for running office software.

If you're a content creator or gamer, you'll definitely want a graphics card. The trouble is, most mini PCs have integrated graphics like the Iris Xe or Radeon 780M, although some will have laptop-style GPUs.

If you do need a graphics card for your workflow, check that the mini PC has an OCuLink port that lets you add an external GPU (sometimes referred to as an eGPU). Where that's an option, I'll include it in the mini PC deal box above.

Is Black Friday and Cyber Monday a good time to buy a mini pc?

Absolutely - after covering Black Friday sales for years now, I see plenty of big price-drops on mini PCs across the board, from budget models to high-specced machines in the run up and throughout the cyber sales event.

Which mini PC deal should I choose over Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

If you're opting for an Apple device, the Mac mini with the M4 processor is usually discounted for Black Friday, as it is now. While you may see older models like the Mac mini M2 on sale, I'd recommend choosing any M4 configuration. Performance is better, it's twice as fast, and superior in just about every way.

For Windows mini PCs, there's typically a wide choice available over the sales event, from budget models that are best-suited for office tasks to high-performance machines with top-end specs that are suitable for productivity tasks, content creation, and gaming. I see so many different configurations, you're really limited only by your budget.
