Afterpay Day has kicked off in New Zealand and HP's Afterpay Day sale has seen some of its more-affordable laptops knocked down to under NZ$1,000.

You'll also find HP is offering up some bundle deals – whereby you can add accessories including laptop bags and mice – which can net you even greater discounts.

The below laptops available in HP's New Zealand Afterpay Day sale are ideally suited for home use, but they can also certainly be snapped up by students looking for a laptop for school or university – particularly the more portable Laptop 14s.

HP Laptop 15s (15s-fq5152TU) / i5 / 16GB RAM / 256GB SSD | NZ$1,399NZ$999 on HP

HP Laptop 15s (15s-fq5152TU) / i5 / 16GB RAM / 256GB SSD | NZ$1,399 NZ$999 on HP (save NZ$400)

Serving up a large 15.6-inch display with barely a bezel in sight on either side and a battery that claims to last over 10 hours with video playback (meaning it should last longer with regular document editing and web browsing) this HP laptop is a solid choice for students or people who need a reliable workhorse for home work life.

HP Laptop 14s (14s-dq5093TU) / i5 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD | NZ$1,499 NZ$999 on HP

HP Laptop 14s (14s-dq5093TU) / i5 / 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD | NZ$1,499 NZ$999 on HP (save NZ$500)

This 14-inch HP laptop is almost identical to the model above, coming with the same processor and RAM, but it reduces the screen size to a more luggable 14-inches and increases the storage to 512GB. Battery life for video playback also improves to around the 11 hour mark and it also gets a bigger saving of NZ$500.

HP Laptop 15s (15s-eq2199AU) / Ryzen 5 / 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD | NZ$1,399NZ$999 on HP

AMD fans will likely prefer this 15-inch version of the laptop mentioned in the first deal above. Along with a Ryzen 5 processor, it also gets AMD Radeon graphics, as opposed to the Intel Iris X graphics featured on the other two machines. Equally lightweight at 1.69kg – although with a slightly shorter battery life – it's a cost-effective laptop upgrade for students and casual users.
