Do you love cinema, but hate the cost of tickets? If so, you'll be pleased to know that you can replicate the immersive cinematic experience in your own home thanks to innovations in the world of soundbars.

Even though Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, there are still lots of soundbar deals left over from the weekend.

Even if you're a regular cinema goer, the quality of TV speakers has decreased due to the focus on creating thin panels, increasing the need to boost your entertainment system with a third party soundbar.

Ranging anywhere around from £100 to in excess of £1000, soundbars can be pretty expensive, and if you're looking for features like Dolby Atmos, 4K/HDR passthroughs, wireless audio streaming, and powerful drivers, you'll be looking at spending towards the upper end of that scale.

If you missed out on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, don't worry; there are still plenty of brilliant deals to be had today - here are some of our top picks:

Do I need a soundbar?

It really depends on your viewing habits - if you typically watch soap operas or news shows, probably not, but if you're a fan of big Hollywood blockbusters a soundbar could be the perfect addition to your home entertainment system.

The need for an external speaker to complement your TV largely arose from the trend for thinner TV panels - as screens improve, the internal speakers on TVs have decreased in quality, meaning that if you want a cinematic experience in your home, you will need to supplement your TV with another speaker setup.

If you're a true audiophile, you may prefer to go for a 5:1 speaker setup around your living room - however, this can prove pretty expensive, and takes up a fair bit of space if you're not able to wall mount due to renting restrictions.

One of the biggest benefits of getting a soundbar instead of multiple speakers is that soundbars are long and thin, designed to sit underneath your TV - although the audio probably won't fill a room like a separate speaker system, soundbars can pack a pretty powerful punch, and offer a far more immersive viewing experience than your TV's inbuilt speakers.

How to get the best soundbar deals on Cyber Monday

There are a few things you can do to prepare for Cyber Monday - firstly, we'd recommend signing up for an Amazon account if you don't already have one and create a wishlist of soundbars you have your eye on - that way, when the deals start being published, you'll be able to see them all in one place.

Make sure you do the same for the other big electronics retailers - we think Argos, for example is likely to make some hefty reductions across its speaker range, including soundbars.

If the retailers you're looking at have Black Friday and Cyber Monday mailing lists, it's a good idea to sign up so you can be the first to hear about new discounts. To make it easier to research all the different retailers, we've put together articles on each one ahead of Cyber Monday 2018 - here are some of the best places to find soundbars:

It's also worth doing your research on a few different soundbars and having some flexibility with which one you buy - look for features rather than serial numbers. For example, are you looking for a soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos? Does it need to have Bluetooth built in?

Cyber Monday is notoriously hectic, and it's pretty common for the popular sites to crash as everyone descends on them at the same time - if you're serious about getting a good deal, you may want to to get up early (or stay up late, depending on how you look at it), and do your shopping around 3 - 4 am.

Argos in particular has said that this is typically the quietest time in terms of traffic on Black Friday, so you'll have the best chance of bagging a good deal if you plan to shop at this time.

Also, make sure you put some money aside ahead of time - Cyber Monday falls at the end of the month, before most people collect their paychecks, so you don't want to be scrabbling for cash on the day.

The one to beat: last year's best soundbar deal

Last year AO.com knocked £120 off of its Samsung soundbars with subwoofers, meaning it's well worth keeping an eye on the site this year.
