Cyber Monday 2022: Key Information

What is Cyber Monday?

With online shopping becoming more and more popular, Cyber Monday was created to support the growing internet retail space in the US. Kicking off in 2005, it got tagged onto the end of Black Friday so new online retailers could take a cut of the profits during the biggest sales event of the year.

It’s clearly worked and now Cyber Monday is an integral part of the Black Friday weekend. If you want to check out this year's Cyber Monday sales, the deals will kick off on November 28 – the Monday following this year's Black Friday sales on November 25.

Are there Cyber Monday sales in Singapore?

Singapore gets to enjoy a variety of offers and discounts during Cyber Monday. Often, a lot of deals will carry on from Black Friday just three days before, but some retailers also use Cyber Monday as an additional day to push a bunch of new deals that weren’t available in the earlier sales.

What to expect during Cyber Monday 2022

It’s not far away now – Cyber Monday 2022 kicks off in just a few weeks, and now's the time to start planning ahead to make sure you nab the best deals. It can be tempting to go for just about any offer, but there’s a few things to watch out for during the sales event much like Black Friday.

You’ll likely see sales on laptops, game consoles, TVs, appliances and more during this sales period. Anything tech-related has the potential to land a decent discount, and chances are some of these gadgets will hit their lowest price for the year.

Although there’ll be a lot of carry on deals from Black Friday, some retailers will probably keep some good deals in their back pocket specifically for Cyber Monday. Keep an eye out for fresh deals, especially if the device you’ve had your eyes on has yet to get a discount – there’s a chance it’s been saved for the Cyber Monday sale.

You’ll have until 11.59pm SGT on November 28 to shop the Cyber Monday sales, though there might be a few deals that sneak through onto Tuesday into what is slowly becoming a 'Cyber Week sale'. We’ll be keeping an eye on the bargains both during and after Cyber Monday to help make sure you don’t miss out on the best bargains.

Where to shop during Cyber Monday 2022

Just like Black Friday, most Singaporean retailers will keep their bargains rolling on during Cyber Monday. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be fresh deals on offer during November 28.

Retailers such as Amazon SG (opens in new tab), Shopee (opens in new tab) and Lazada (opens in new tab) will likely keep some deals on offer during Cyber Monday and offer up some flash deals across the day. More specific retailers such as Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo and Samsung will also likely have deals continue through that weekend. If you want to find the top retailers during Cyber Monday, we’ve got a list at the top of the page for both Singapore and Malaysia.

When does Cyber Monday end?

Cyber Monday is a single day that technically ends at midnight on November 28 in 2022. It rounds out the Black Friday sales weekend. There’ll be some bargains that will carry on into the week after, making an official end date to the deals hard to pinpoint, though sales on big ticket items will likely end as the clock ticks over to Tuesday.

Is Cyber Monday too late to get a good deal?

Across the four-day sales weekend between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, deals will pop up and end, with some retailers such as Lazada and Amazon offering some limited flash sales across this period. So you can still snatch a very good deal on Cyber Monday, but just be aware, some stock is extremely limited, so if you see something at a price you’re happy to pay, we recommend picking it up early especially if it’s a hot ticket item such as a console or mobile phone.

How do I get the best Cyber Monday deals in 2022?

While we'll be rounding up the best deals for you to find right here, there are a few additional tips to keep in mind when hunting for bargains during the Cyber Monday sales.

1. Check in early
Just like with Black Friday, take a look early on to find deals that are already live. While not everything will be sold out by the end of the day, if you want to pick up hot-ticket items your more likely to nab one earlier rather than later. Some deals will only have limited stock while sites such as Amazon SG will offer Flash sales with deals that will only be available for a very limited time.

2. Know what you're looking for
Going into both Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a basic shopping list will help keep you from spontaneous spending and you nab the best deals on the tech you really want. It also helps to research your most wanted products ahead of time so you know what specs to look out for. This is especially important with laptops so we recommend having a look through sites like Dell, Microsoft and Lenovo ahead of time to get an idea of specs and power that could be on offer during the sales.

3. Be prepared to buy alternatives
Finally, keep an open mind to other brands that might be on sale. You might want a specific TV, but there's potentially another one the same size with the same features at a better price, just made by another brand. It helps to been neutral towards companies during the sales where you can, though it's not always possible with gadgets such as consoles.
