Samsung recently updated its Galaxy A lineup in India by launching five different phones in the country. The Galaxy A73 5G, which sits at the top of the table in this group, was also introduced, however, the company didn’t announce details about its pricing, availability and launch offers.

Unlike the other devices in this lineup that come with an Exynos SoC, the Galaxy A73 comes with a Snapdragon 778G chipset. It also comes with a 108MP camera at the back and the massive 6.7-inch OLED display comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G pricing and launch offers

The South Korean smartphone maker has now revealed that the Galaxy A73 5G is up for pre-reserve and has been priced at Rs. 41,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant.

As a part of the launch offer, the company is bundling the Galaxy Buds Live worth Rs. 6,990 for just Rs. 499 and is also offering an instant cashback of Rs. 3,000 via Samsung Finance Plus, ICICI Bank cards or SBI credit cards.

The company will host an exclusive sale event on its official website on April 8 at 6 PM offering additional discounts and benefits to the users who purchase the phone.

Samsung Galaxy A73 – should you buy it?

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 778G SoC coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The phone supports storage expansion to up to 1TB via a microSD card while the RAM can be virtually extended up to 16GB when required.

In terms of optics, the phone comes with a quad-camera setup with a primary 108 MP camera with OIS, a 12MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP depth and a 5MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 32MP selfie camera. The phone draws power from a 5000 mAh battery that comes with support for 25W fast charging over the Type C port.

The Galaxy A73 is priced at a premium and competes with the likes of Moto Edge 30 Pro, Xiaomi 11T Pro, iQoo 9 SE and OnePlus 9RT.

Most of the phones mentioned above have Snapdragon 888 Soc while the Moto Edge 30 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Comparatively the chipset powering the Galaxy A73 5G is less powerful yet the phone is priced higher than all of them.

Moreover, this pricing also puts the Galaxy A73 5G against Samsung’s affordable flagship Galaxy S20 FE. The Galaxy A73 5G does come with Samsung’s promise of up to four years of software updates and five years of security updates, which means that the phone will remain relatively new for a longer time.

However, the 25W charging speed on this phone is way too slow and makes it a difficult device to suggest. Slow charging speeds will force you to rely on charging the phone overnight or carry a power bank everywhere in case you run out of battery
