Medical helplines failing patients

The out-of-hours medical help line was reformed in 2004 by the Department of Health

Out-of-hours medical help phone services are not being monitored properly and are failing its patients, a committee of MPs has said this week.

Out-of-hours phone services were set up to help patients during the hours of 6.30pm to 8am, daily, and at all times during weekends and public holidays.
