Get gaming with a cheaper Kinect for Xbox 360

Always wanted a Kinect for Xbox 360 but got turned off by the price?

Well, you’re in luck, as Microsoft announced a U.S.-only permanent price drop Wednesday, bringing the motion-controlled gaming interface to $109.99, down from its previous $149.99 heights.

The deal is, as we say, only good for U.S. residents for now, though Microsoft said a price cut in North America, Latin American and Asia Pacific regions where the Kinect is sold will roll out soon.

There’s no mention of slashed prices coming to Europe, Japan, the Middle East or Africa, however.

Global deals

Despite these omissions, Microsoft is also planning to cut Kinect sensor prices in Australia and New Zealand October 4.

TechRadar has reached out to Microsoft regarding why the price of the Kinect was cut and will update this story if and when more information becomes available.
