Black Friday Xbox Series X

Black Friday 2021 is now officially over, but the deals are still hanging in there – and that's before a fresh slew of Cyber Monday deals roll in, too.

We're expecting a bunch of new Xbox deals to be rolled out by retailers throughout Black Friday and over the weekend, and we'll be here to bring you the very best Black Friday Xbox Series X/S deals around. If you're after some discounted games, accessories or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, now is the perfect time to buy.

For US-based Xbox fans, there's a $50 saving to be had on Gears 5 and $30 off Psychonauts 2 at Walmart. Meanwhile, GameStop has a buy two get one free on pre-owned Xbox Series X games, and we're seeing lots of accessory discounts at Best Buy, too, including controllers and headsets.

For those in the UK, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles and bundles are back in stock at some retailers. Argos, Amazon, Currys and Very have limited amounts available right now, so snap one up before supplies run out.

You can also pre-order an Xbox Series S Fortnite & Rocket League Bundle for £249.99 at Amazon. And, if you've heard about the great value of an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, now's the time to sign up as you can get your first month for just £1 – that's a saving of over £10.

We're also tracking console restocks throughout the week. We'll endeavour to be the first to let you know where to buy the Xbox Series X as soon as any US-based online stores, such as GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon, make any announcements. But if you can't find Microsoft's flagship console in stock, don't overlook the Xbox Series S this Black Friday.

There should be more discounts landing through the weekend and into Cyber Monday as well, so we'll be tracking all the best Black Friday Xbox Series X/S deals right here. Make sure to bookmark this page for the biggest discounts, and regularly check back in with us to see what's new.

Also, check out our dedicated Black Friday Xbox controller deals, Black Friday PS5 deals and Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals page for even more gaming deals.

Black Friday Xbox deals (US): Xbox Series X consoles and bundles

The Xbox Series X is currently out of stock across the US. But we have started to see stock drops more recently, and expect more ahead of Christmas, so it's always worth keeping an eye out on the links above for any updates.

With that in mind, keep this page bookmarked as we'll be updating it with where Xbox Series X stock is available - just don't expect a discount.

Black Friday Xbox deals (US): Xbox Series S consoles and bundles

Like the Xbox Series X, the Xbox Series S is difficult to come by right now. However, it's probably easier to get your hands on the Series S. So if you're struggling to get hold of an Xbox Series X, then we suggest keeping an eye out for the more affordable Xbox Series S.

The Xbox Series S is a great entry point into next-gen gaming for those who aren't fussed about buying games digitally. The Series S doesn't have a disc tray, after all. But it's a great option if you want to avoid the sizable financial outlay required to own a full-blown next-gen console, or if you simply can get hold of the Series X.

There are, though, some drawbacks: it has significantly less storage than the Series X, prioritizes 1440p resolution for gaming, and doesn't have a 4K HD Blu-Ray drive. Check out our full Xbox Series S review to find out more, or read our Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S comparison to see how it stacks up to Microsoft's flagship console.

Xbox Series X Black Friday deals: FAQ

Will the Xbox Series X go on sale for Black Friday?

It's extremely unlikely that the Xbox Series X console by itself will actually be on sale over Black Friday – and that's due to its relative youth, as a system, and because stocks are still relatively hard to come by. Even 12 months after the initial release of the system, the Xbox Series X still sells out in short order whenever more stock is released, much like the PS5. It's likely we won't see the Xbox Series S discounted either, but it is easier to get hold of than the Xbox Series X (with bundles available right now).

However, that doesn't mean there aren't any Black Friday Xbox Series X/S deals at all. We are seeing plenty of sales on games, controllers, and accessories. There are plenty of Xbox games discounted right now, which work across Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

And let's also not forget accessories. If you happen to have a console sitting in your living room already, then, Black Friday is absolutely one of the best times all year to score a headset or controller. Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart all have tons of third-party and first-party peripherals that are discounted and price matched right now.

How much will the Xbox Series X cost on Black Friday 2021?

If the Xbox Series X is readily available on Black Friday 2021 (and that's a big if), we definitely don't expect it to drop below the $499 / £449 / AU$749 retail price. Demand is still incredibly high for this console, so it's unrealistic to expect any juicy price cuts just yet, or until stock is readily available.

We have seen some stock drops recently, with stock available in the UK right now, but the Xbox Series X is proving harder to get in the US. The stock we are seeing isn't being discounted, though.

Tips for finding the best Xbox deals this Black Friday

If you don't want to miss a single stock drop or piece of news, definitely bookmark this page and follow TechRadar's social channels. This is the exact page we'll be updating with any news on Black Friday Xbox Series X deals and bundles in the build-up. We'll also have the sales themselves right here, too. If you do want to fly solo, however, then we're more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Where to find the best Xbox Series X Black Friday deals in 2021?

If you're in the US, Best Buy will most likely be your best bet (get it?) for scoring a console. We've seen this retailer offer console bundles with fair regularity, although its prices are often slightly beaten by Amazon, which is another good retailer to consider.

Over in the UK, Game, Box, and Currys all have fairly regular console restocks, although it's Argo who appears to be getting stock more regularly these days.

Across all regions, it's also a good idea to keep an eye on the official Xbox website. While this official vendor always sells its stock at full retail price (at least so far it has), it has a unique opt-in Xbox All Access program. This allows customers to pay for their consoles in monthly instalments – heavily offsetting that hefty upfront price.

How to get the best Xbox Black Friday deals

It's important to know exactly what you're after when going in for Black Friday Xbox Series X deals. This means doing a little bit of research around games, accessories, and also doing the prep work if you're really looking to snag a console. It's also worth having a few backup items on your shopping list, too, should you not be able to score your first choice items on the day.

A great way to save some cash on games is to lose the disks and embrace a digital-only platform. For example, the excellent Xbox Game Pass service will immediately give you access to a huge library of games for a fairly low monthly subscription fee. With everything from 'AAA' titles like Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves to indie favorites like Hollow Knight, even the basic package will keep you gaming for hours on end.

You could also consider the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which rolls in Xbox Live Gold for online play, plus Xbox Cloud Gaming too. You'll get that same excellent range of games with this service, but also be able to enjoy them on mobile and tablet platforms, too.

Will the Xbox Series X be in stock over Black Friday?

Yes, but it'll be in limited quantities. Right now, Argos is the only UK-based store that is getting regular deliveries of Series X stock, while the likes of Amazon, Very and Currys are receiving limited supplies of Xbox Series S consoles and bundles. Both systems are proving more difficult to find in the US.

It's not like Microsoft hasn't been sitting idly by either in terms of console production. A recent report from Statista has projected that Xbox Series X sales will rise to 12 million units by the end of 2021. Considering that number was just 3 million last year, that either means there are way more consoles sitting under TVs or that there's way more stock inbound before the year is out.
