WiMax to remain a niche, says report

Vodafone is one of the mobile phone companies offering HSDPA internet connections

Broadband over a 3G network is the likely method most mobile PC users will use in the near future to connect to the net. That's according to a new study that says much-vaunted WiMax technology will remain a niche.

The research by Arthur D. Little , claims that WiMax is, at most, likely to account for a round 10 per cent of mobile wireless subscribers in as soon as five years' time.
