Step by step guide
1. Hiding likes for an Instagram post
You can opt to hide likes on an individual basis on Instagram. If there is a post you would like to do this for, locate the post in the Instagram app and then tap the three-dot menu above it. From the menu that appears, select the Hide like count option. The number of likes a post has received will be hidden immediately, but it will not stop people from liking it.
2. Making Instagram post likes visible again
If you change your mind about hiding likes, it's easy to change the settings back so they are visible once again. As before, locate the post in question, and tap the three-dot button above it. This time you will be able to select Unhide like count. Again, the change will be immediate and there is nothing else you need to do.

There are similar options available on Facebook, meaning that it is possible to hide the reactions that other users have made to posts. In the app, tap the hamburger menu (three lines) and then tap the gear icon to access Settings & privacy. In the Preferences section, tap Reaction preferences, and then you can use the On posts from others and On your posts toggles to decide which reactions to hide.

The pages you like on Facebook influence the content you see, but you may not want other people to see your likes. In the Facebook app, visit your profile, tap the three-dot menu, and then tap Follow settings.
