Nvidia has launched two new graphics cards at CES – the dual GPU GeForce GTX 295 and the single GPU GeForce GTX 285.
The new GeForce GTX 295 boasts two of Nvidia's GeForce GTX 200 GPUs on a single card. That's 480 processor cores, a clockspeed of 576MHz and 1792MB of GDDR3 memory (896MB per GPU).
The word you're looking for is 'whoosh'.
The GTX 295 is also SLI-ready (quad), PhysX-ready and CUDA-compatible; capable of turning its processing muscle to Mirror's Edge one day, transcoding your HD videos the next.
World's most powerful GPU
As for the GeForce 285, Nvidia claims that it's the "world's most powerful single GPU, delivering 30% faster performance than competing single GPU solutions."
Featuring one GeForce GTX 200 GPU, the GTX 285 brings 240 processor cores to bear on gaming and multimedia tasks. It runs at a clockspeed of 648MHz and packs 1GB of GDDR3 memory.
Like the GTX 295, the GTX 285 is also SLI-ready (2/3), PhysX-ready and CUDA-compatible.

Enough said. The GeForce GTX 295 is available right now for $499 (£328), while the GeForce GTX 285 will be available on January 15th, priced at $399 (£262).
