We've seen a lot more Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit deals now that the unique augmented reality racing game has been available to buy for some time.

Immediately after launch, it suffered from a lot of the stock issues we saw with other Nintendo products such as Ring Fit Adventure and the Nintendo Switch OLED. Now that's all cleared up, prices have come down considerably and the AR spin-off is often aggressively discounted during major sales events.

Take the recent end-of-year sales, for example, where we saw a whole host of Nintendo Switch deals including Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit for as low as $59.99 in the US and around £50 in the UK. That's likely to return - or improve - in this year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals.

Sure, that's still reasonably expensive for what is essentially an experimental toy - and not as low as some Nintendo Switch game deals we've seen - but a lot less than the usual price of $99.99 / £99.99. Is it one of the best Nintendo Switch games? We're not sure. However, it's a lot more palatable price for anyone intrigued by something a little different with their next Mario Kart experience on Nintendo Switch.

What's included in that price, then? Well, you get a single camera-enabled kart, four gates and two arrow signs. You then just need to download the game for free onto your Nintendo Switch from the eShop and that's everything you need to get started with augmented reality racing. Simply set up your track around your home and get to lobbing blue shells from a whole new perspective.

If you are interested in giving it a try, then all the best Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit deals are just below. We crawl through all the major retailers to bring you the best prices available today so you can be sure you're saving the most money today and in the Black Friday deals.

The best Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit deals

There are two Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit sets available right now: Mario and Luigi. Though you won't need both to race against AI opponents in your own living room, you will need two separate camera-enabled karts to race against another human. Players don't need different karts, though, so you can both race as Mario or Luigi at the same time, just make sure they also have a Nintendo Switch to play on.

Is the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit worth the cost?

If you've pilfered every trophy you possibly can from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since it's been available on Switch, or even if you haven't even touched the original game in years, then we say Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is worth it.

The augmented reality spin on this Switch favourite is surprisingly adept. You can sink hours into creating your own tracks, competing for trophies and unlocking all the customization options open to you.

This isn't simply a collection expensive mini-games with a novelty toy to bump up the price tag - this is a fully fledged experience with plenty of room for creativity and competition no matter your age.

All of that means this is going to be a massively popular gifting item. The price of Mario Kart Live is solid for what you get - and while demand has cooled since launch it's still a sought-after item. You can just save a bit more off the price now it's been out for a good while.

Does Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit come with the game?

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is completely separated from Mario Kart 8: Deluxe. That means you won't be using your new AR RC cars with the traditional title, but instead, you need to download the free software from the eShop. You will, however, need the kart itself to be able to play on this free software.

Does Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit work on carpet?

Mario Kart Live does work on carpets of any depth, though in our own usage we've found that harder floors do offer a smoother overall view from the onboard camera. That said, there's a smooth transition between the two surfaces if you are running across multiple rooms and you'll still be able to use Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit with carpets.
