We liked
There's a lot to like about this printer, starting with the price - but unlike some affordable inkjets the running costs won't make you regret your purchase. The DCP-J4120DW offers a lot of features, excellent wireless support and decent printing speeds, and the cloud service support is particularly handy.
We disliked
The touchscreen is small enough to be uncomfortable, although you don't need to use it very often. The printer is silent when it isn't printing, but while its operating volume is low it does produce a whining noise that might prove annoying if you're sitting next to it.
Final Verdict
If you think of the DCP-J4120DW as a cheap and cheerful printer, scanner and copier and use it mainly for mono A4 printing with the odd bit of colour and/or A3 work, you'll be quite happy with it: it's priced well, the running costs are surprisingly low and the print quality is perfectly adequate for everyday printing tasks. It's particularly handy if you have multiple devices - PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, mobiles, tablets - and need to print from them all.
