EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro has a reputation as one of the best data recovery software programs on the market. It comes with a selection of advanced features, including partition recovery, formatted drive restoration, and corrupted file repair. In this EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro review, we analyze the software in-depth to see if it’s the best choice for your file recovery needs.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Plans and pricing
All users with basic hard drive data recovery needs can download a limited free version of the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro software. With it, you can retrieve up to 2GB of deleted, hidden, or lost data.
Windows users who need unlimited data retrieval can purchase a Pro license for $69.95 per month, $99.95 per year, or $149.95 for life. A more advanced Pro+Bootable Media plan starts from $99.90 per month and includes the ability to boot with a downloadable WinPE following a system crash.
On the other hand, Mac users can upgrade to an unlimited Pro version from $89.95 per month. This adds a number of tools, including free remote assistance, iTunes backup recovery, and bootable USB drive creation.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Features
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro includes some of the most advanced features we’ve seen. For starters, its standard lost data recovery tools are simple, yet effective, and facilitate the rapid recovery of deleted files.
The Windows version of the software can be also used to recover files from formatted storage devices and retrieve corrupted or inaccessible files from a damaged drive or external storage. Both quick and deep scan modes are available, and recovered data can even be restored while a scan is in process. And finally, the built-in file previewer enables you to check the integrity of a file before restoring it.
The Mac version of EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro naturally includes macOS-specific features. These include the ability to recover any files from any Mac-based device, smart disk monitoring, iTunes backup recovery, and Time Machine backup recovery.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Client and client setup
Downloading and installing the Windows version of EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro took us no more than a couple of minutes. Setup was quick and required no special technical knowledge.
Meanwhile, the client interface is one of the tidiest we’ve seen. It’s modern, attractive, and extremely beginner-friendly. On top of this, it presents recovered files in an easy navigation panel, sorting them by their former location and file type.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Performance
We installed EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro on a test Windows laptop with a 1TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. A quick scan took no more than a minute and recovered the files we intentionally deleted for test purposes, along with thousands of others. At its peak, the program used 30% CPU and around 250MB of RAM, which means you shouldn’t have any problems running it alongside other software.
As expected, a deep scan took significantly longer—two hours and 34 minutes to be exact. This is one of the fastest advanced scanners we’ve used, and it worked great. It ran comfortably in the background and drew virtually no computer resources. On top of this, the ability to preview and restore files during the scan was extremely useful.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Efficiency
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro did a great job of finding and organizing lost files. Our initial quick scan recovered almost 70,000 objects, including those we had intentionally deleted. A deep scan was even better, recovering almost 550,000 objects dating to years in the past.
What’s more, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro claims to support all known file types on both Mac and Windows operating systems, which is a major positive. We didn’t find anything to suggest this claim is untrue.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Support
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro users will benefit from a range of live and self-help support streams. For starters, live chat support is available from 9am–5:30pm (UTC+8), Monday to Friday. Phone support is available with unspecified hours, and email ticket submission is a third option.
Self-help resources include video tutorials, an online help guide, and an in-depth knowledge base. Offline documentation is also available for download.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: Final verdict
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro is, without a doubt, one of the best data recovery programs we’ve used. It’s available on both Mac and Windows, and the free version is a great choice for those who need to restore a small number of files.
Upgrading to a paid license is slightly expensive, but the sheer number of great features on offer means that it actually presents great value for money. Add to this the program’s great performance, responsive customer support, and tidy user interface, and you have a clear winner.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro: The competition
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro is a great option for those with the budget to pay for its slightly expensive subscription, but there are a few competitors worth considering if you’re looking for a cheaper option.
For example, the Ashampoo Undeleter is a great alternative for simple deleted file recovery. A lifetime license costs just $14.99 per month, although advanced features and a deep scanner aren’t available.
