A report has suggested that ITV and Channel 4 should walk away from online VOD scheme Project Kangaroo to save themselves up to £30 million in losses.
The partners involved in Project Kangaroo have warned that the entire venture will be scrapped if the latest plans to get the venture past the authorities are not met with approval.
Project Kangaroo, the online collaboration between BBC, ITV and Channel 4, would restrict competition in the UK, according to the Competition Commission.
The online television collaboration Project Kangaroo will be trialled in January, despite the Competition Commission judgement hanging over the scheme like the Sword of Damocles.
ExclusiveThe BBC says it needed more time from the Competition Commission to prepare its case over the proposed Kangaroo video on demand (VOD) service from the corporation, Channel 4 and ITV.
