Samsung has announced the next two phones to use its nascent Bada platform: the Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro.
Following the Samsung Wave (we're sensing a theme here) in the Bada family, the new phones look to be aimed at the cheaper end of the market.
The Samsung Wave 2 is a tablet phone with 3.2-inch LCD screen (no Super AMOLED... boo) and a 3MP camera with SD video recorder.
It does pack Wi-Fi, aGPS and Bluetooth 2.1, as well as up to 16GB of microSD memory, with 80MB bundled. More importantly it has the attractive Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 overlay, with tight integration with social networking through Bada's Social Hub platform.
3G or not 3G
One odd fact to note is the Wave 2 doesn't have 3G, so it's not going to be the phone that keeps you constantly updated and internet friendly when out and about.
The Wave 2 Pro is pretty much exactly the same phone with a QWERTY keyboard Sellotaped (or probably something more permanent) on the back – in the same vein as the Vivaz/Vivaz Pro and the X10 Mini/X10 Mini Pro.
Both phones also come with Google services like Latitude bundled too, so the idea is clearly to keep you socially networking at all times.
Sadly, they may only be introduced in Russia and South East Asia, according to the press release; however, with Samsung betting big on Bada, we have to assume it's more than probable the Wave 2 at least might make it over here.
