Starting a business is always a challenge, and growing and succeeding in current times even more so. So in order to help, Amazon has revealed that it is teaming up with American Express to support the UK’s small businesses with two new Business Credit Cards.

According to a YouGov report, 63% of British small businesses say cash flow issues have led them to delay purchasing the goods and services they need to run their business. Nearly a quarter (23%) said they have put off ‘bigger ticket’ purchases over the last six months until they have funds available, and 38% of them are only buying the ‘essentials’ they need to keep their business operating.

Amazon recognises that small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are the backbone of the UK economy, as more than half of all products sold on Amazon stores come from selling partners, the majority of whom are small businesses. Amazon has therefore launched the Amazon Small Business Accelerator program, aimed at giving small businesses the resources and information they need to thrive in 2021 and beyond.

With this in mind, the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card and the Amazon Business American Express Card offer a host of rich rewards and payment flexibility designed to help businesses better manage their cash flow and gain greater insight into their spending.

Businesses can choose to earn 2% Amazon Rewards points with the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card, or 1.5% with the Amazon Business American Express Card, on the first £120,000 in UK purchases at Amazon Business, Amazon.co.uk and Whole Foods Market, 1% thereafter. All Cardmembers also earn 0.5% Amazon Rewards on all other eligible purchases. Businesses can use these points to help cover balances on their monthly statement or use them to pay for future Amazon purchases. (Terms and conditions apply*)

In lieu of earning rewards, when making a UK purchase at Amazon Business, Amazon.co.uk and Whole Foods Market, businesses can choose 90-day payment terms with the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card (60-day payment terms on the Amazon Business American Express Card).*

With these cards, SMEs can make their purchases go further, while working with brands they can trust.
