Advanced Web Ranking (AWR) is a SEO tool and web-based rank tracking service. It monitors the search performance of your website’s keywords, tracks organic and paid searches emanating from any location and any device, and makes detailed reports for clearly conveying insights and trends for in-house use or sharing with your customers.

Advanced Web Ranking has over 24,000 active users of all sizes, worldwide across 170 countries. It can be integrated with Google Analytics, track ranking performance on multiple platforms such as Yandex and Baidu (the leading online search services in Russia and China, respectively), and show you how your keyword strategy affects your overall ranking so that you can generate the search exposure you need. Therefore, it’s little wonder that it is trusted by Amazon, Microsoft and Hilton among its users.

Advanced Web Ranking: Plans and pricing

AWR offers four tiers of product packages, with the entry point the Starter package designed for affordability at a cost of $49 per month, and the option of an annual discount. It comes with 2,000 keyword searches monthly, competitor analysis, integration with your data from Google Analytics, and unlimited projects and users.

Upgrading to the Pro package costs $99 per month to enjoy all of the features offered by the Starter plan, and it adds the ability to conduct 7,000 keyword searches every month. You can also uncover deeper competitor insights using the market share and keyword discovery features of this plan.

Moving a plan up takes us to the Agency package, which is designed for use by agencies at a cost of $199 per month, or the equivalent of $179/month when paid annually. It brings all the features available in the Pro plan with it, and increases the limits to allow you to search 14,500 keywords each month. It also comes with a custom-built developer API, one hour updates, and the ability to import historical data from other search services you may have used in the past.

At the top tier is the Enterprise plan, which starts at $499 per month, or the equivalent of $449/month when paid annually. In addition to the features available with the Pro plan, the enterprise plan allows you to export data via online plugins, data migration assistance, conduct over 35,000 keyword searches, use a dedicated account manager login, and receive priority support for tech issues.

You can also use AWR’s big data services in order to extract insights and generate custom reports using your private data, not just publicly available Google search data, which is what many services do.

We also appreciate that there is a 30 day free trial available, without credit card information required.

Advanced Web Ranking: Features

The features below are key selling points of AWR:

Comprehensive Data

AWR provides access to ranking data via 3,000 search engines with the ability to isolate user statistics based on location or device type. Furthermore, data can be merged from Google Ads, Google Analytics, and custom KPIs that you use in-house. Impressively, it can even go further back in time and bypass the limitations placed by Google on historical data, which is generally capped at 50 days in the past.

White Labeling Services

This service is available on all subscription tiers, allowing you to replace AWR labeling with your company name, logo, and domain information. With this, your downstream clients gain access to their website data, along with links that look like the subdomains of your website. Furthermore, even emails generated by AWR get displayed as originating from your domain, and not from AWR.

No matter which subscription is chosen, for no additional cost you can invite as many users as you want to your AWR workflows. This gives your coworkers or online marketing specialists access to the specific projects they need to work on, and enable them access to the data they need- wherever they are and whichever device they use- with the ability to customize user access privileges that fit with the organizational structure and roles you have in your company.

Advanced Web Ranking: Interface and use

AWR’s user dashboard lets users see only the data they want to see while filtering out information based on your project or keyword goals. By way of example, the initial filters will sort results by geographic location, device, and industry. The next level of filters then breaks down your data by time frame and data type. Color-coded graphs and charts make it child’s play for seeing how and where you rank with different searches. Also you can pick and choose the elements you need to refine by going through each filter in succession.

Advanced Web Ranking: Support

Contacting the ARW tech team is performed via dedicated phone lines set up for US and UK customers, although the hours and days of operation are not specified. There’s also a way to send a direct email for an issue. In addition to these resources, in the Help area, there are in-depth blogs, FAQs, and a large video tutorial library that you can access independently. There’s also dedicated support technicians who are available via chat, however when we had a question in the middle of the afternoon (EST) during normal business hours, the chat function indicated that they would be back tomorrow.

One point to note is that AWR does not provide consulting services and they only deal with their existing client base.

Advanced Web Ranking: The Competition

Let’s see how AWR compares against two similar keyword ranking applications, KWFinder and ProRankTracker.

At about $50 per month (the lowest tier), you can conduct 2,000 keyword searches monthly with AWR. By way of comparison, KWfinder provides 100 weekly keyword searches daily for $50 per month, and ProRankTracker provides just 250 keyword searches per month for $29. In terms of the cost per keyword search, AWR leads the pack.

AWR is a pure keyword ranking service, which tells you how different keywords—those that you use and those that people search for—perform at different locations and where you can therefore generate the most traffic. Alternatively, KWFinder and ProRankTracker are better suited at guiding the user to keywords that they should be using based on what the competition is doing.

Furthermore, KWFinder offers 45 different filters, which is more than we found with AWR, and ProRankTracker includes detailed site audits, which AWR does not offer. However, where AWR performs is to hyper-analyze your data, really break it down based on location and device, and finally generate highly polished reports for your team or customers.

Advanced Web Ranking: Final Verdict

In summary, AWR is a great product for understanding your ranking performance on search engine results pages and also for identifying search terms performance in specific industries and locations. Additionally, it’s very good to generate easy-to-understand reports that can be used at all levels of business for both technical and non-technical personnel for guiding decision-making.

For those looking for a rank tracking application to provide you with in-depth analysis of your online data, AWR is an excellent choice. However, for those in need of specific SEO functions, like site audits or keyword spend, we suggest looking at other keyword or ranking services to better provide you with that information.
