We shoot a specially designed chart in carefully controlled conditions and the resulting images are analysed using DXO Analyzer software to generate the data to produce the graphs below.
A high signal to noise ratio (SNR) indicates a cleaner and better quality image.

Our results from the lab have been compared against the Canon PowerShot A4000, Fujifilm Finepix F600 and Nikon Coolpix S4150
Our analysis shows that the Nikon Coolpix S4300 produces good results for both signal to noise ratio and dynamic range across the sensitivity scale, improving of the performance of the S4150. However when it comes to resolution images shot using higher sensitivities show a lack of detail.
Signal to noise ratio
JPEG images from the Nikon Coolpix have good signal to noise ratio results at the lower end of the sensitivity scale, beating the Canon PowerShot A4000, Fujifilm Finepix F600 and Nikon Coolpix S4150. At higher sensitivities although there is a drop in score, it's in-line with the comparison cameras.
Dynamic range
This chart shows that results from the Nikon Coolpix S4300 relate closely to the Nikon Coolpix S4150 and from the mid to high end of the sensitivity scale show similar dynamic range results to the Fujifilm Finepix F600.
