Argos has launched its Big Red Sale. Now, I've seen loads of 8GB laptop deals there, but as always, I'm begging you to avoid them. The low cost isn't worth the frustratingly sluggish performance. 16GB memory is plenty for day-to-day office multi-tasking without breaking the bank. And of all the ones in the Argos sale, I've 100% choose the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3.

• Best for: Remote workers and students who want good general performance for productivity tasks like running office software, browsing, and streaming.

• The deal: The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is now £664 (was £829) at Argos with code RED20, so 20% off or just shy of £166.

• Why we like it: This laptop comes with an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. When we tested this machine, we found it "fairly portable for its size, is attractive enough, and has enough performance for most people’s day-to-day needs. With its low price, it’s a great value for those that just need a Windows computer."

Why we recommend it

We scored the attractively designed IdeaPad Slim 3 4 stars in our review.

This isn't a juggernaut workstation for 3D rendering, gaming, video editing and running a zillion LLMs all at once. And it's not meant to be.

As we found during our tests: "What it needs to do and does well enough is handle day-to-day tasks such as browsing, streaming, emails, word processing, and the like.

It's a reliable 16-inch laptop that in our tests delivered good overall performance for those who just need a decent Windows laptop for work. "good performance for day-to-day use."

Price context & historical value

There are plenty of 16GB laptop deals at Argos (you can check them out here), but this IdeaPad Slim 3 is the pick of the bunch thanks to the decent specs and real-world performance tests we've put it through. For comparison, it's just £24 more than the same model with 256GB SSD storage. That's half what you're paying for here.

The closest cheaper alternative in the sale is this Ryzen 5-powered 15.6-inch HP laptop, priced at £569 (was £579). But having owned several HP and Lenovo laptops over the years, I prefer Lenovo's overall build quality and performance. Personally, I'd choose the IdeaPad over it every time, but the specs are good enough too.

The Prime Big Deal Days sale is officially over for another year, but I checked Amazon's homepage this morning, and many of the best deals are still available. All the top offers I'd still recommend are right here, including big savings on Amazon smart home tech and several record-low prices from Shark, Nintendo, Lego, and Oral-B.

This smart home bundle was one of the best-selling deals during the event, so I'm surprised it's still available today. You can get a Blink Outdoor 4 Camera with Blink Video Doorbell for £24.99 (was £129.98), which is a super-low price for a home security starter kit that will let you see and respond to visitors at your door from your phone or other smart devices.

I'm also still surprised that this record-low price for the Nintendo Switch 2 is still live, so I'd grab one soon before it goes back up if you were thinking of picking up the console. This price isn't guaranteed to be back over Black Friday, especially with all the other price hikes we've seen on game consoles over the last few months.

For an entry-level tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh router system, the one that gets my vote is the MSI Roamii Be Pro, currently still $250 (was $300) at Amazon, and down to £259 (was £280) in the UK as the Prime Day sales come to a close.

Compared to rivals in the field like the Amazon's eero Pro 7, Netgear Orbi 770, Asus ZenWiFi BT8, TP-Link Deco 7 Pro, MSI's whole-home networking solution is much cheaper and effectively, with performance that proved surprisingly competitive in our tests.

Why we recommend it

There are a number of reasons to consider the MSI Roamii Be Pro in my opinion. First is, it's just about the cheapest Wi-Fi 7 mesh system I can think of. Not just a few dollars, but hundreds. Amazon, Netgear, TP-Link, and Asus all charge considerably more even for the two-pack versions of their devices (I've added them below for comparison).

Features

It's an aggressive price point, but that doesn't mean it skimps on features. Operating on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, there's support for MLO (which basically seamlessly switches bands as you move through the house so you're always connected). You get wall mounts in the box, which most don't have. There's even a USB port on the back, letting you share larger files across the network.

Each set-up comes in a two-pack (you can't get standalone nodes yet), and that covers up to 6,000 sq. ft.

Using the MSI Router 2.0 app gives you access to more networking, security, and parental controls, all subscription-free. It's one of the few mesh systems, alongside Asus, that doesn't charge for that. I really hate the idea of paying a subscription to Amazon just to keep kids safe online, so that's an immediate plus point in the Roamii Be Pro's favor. And you can dig into network settings in a way you can't using the eero line.

Performance

We awarded the MSI Roamii Be Pro 4 stars in our review and we found it excelled particularly at close range. Our reviewer noted "With the laptop next to the router, the Roamii BE Pro achieved a consistent transfer speed of 2,003Mbps. That’s the fastest speed I’ve ever seen from a consumer Wi-Fi router."

Our sister site Tom's Hardware scored it 4 stars and in testing found "the Roamii BE Pro performed well on our tests, particularly on the 5 GHz band." Meanwhile Tom's Guide rated it 4.5 stars, and concluded, with data speeds that compare well against its rivals.

As ever, wiring the router in will get you most speeds - the unit has three 2.5Gbps LAN ports and one 2.5Gbps WAN port for multi-gig internet connections.

However, wireless backhaul is surprisingly competitive across short, medium, and long ranges. According to Tom's Guide, expect around 2Gbps at 15ft, 815Mbps at 50ft, and 200Mbps at 75ft, and 66.3 Mbps at 90ft.

I've spotted a lot of portable power station deals in the Prime Day sale. And while you can't really go wrong with Bluetti, EcoFlow, Jackery, and Anker based on my experiences, it can sometimes become a confusing mess of numbers once you start digging into the differences. So, these are my top three recommendations if you're looking for a little extra insurance while working from home and you're struck by a power outage that keeps you offline (or 'the dark ages', as I like to call it).

Having reviewed some of the best portable power stations you can get, these are the key specs you want to look for:

Wh - this is the battery capacity - it's like the electrical version of a fuel tank, and it gives you some idea how long the power station will last until you need to recharge it. The higher the Wh, the more battery power you have, the longer it'll run.

W - this is the output the unit can put out. A laptop is typically up to around 65-100W to power while a standard PC is around 200W; a larger appliance like a fridge can be around 300W. Some power stations have dual surge modes, so you get extra power output for high-wattage devices.

UPS switchover - the time it takes during a power outage for the power station to kick in. The quicker, the better so you don't lose connection if it's hooked up to your router or modem. At best, select a unit that kicks in in under 20 milliseconds, but under 10 milliseconds is better.

There are few gaming headsets that I would consider to be best-in-class offerings, but the Sony Inzone H6 Air is a rare example of one. It's the best-sounding open-back gaming headset that I've ever tested, with crisp and clean audio that elevates everything from first-person shooters to narrative-based action games.

It's pretty well-positioned at full price, but has now become even greater value thanks to a massive Amazon Prime Day saving: it's now just $168 (was $199.99) at Amazon – a new lowest-ever price for the retailer.

The deals continue across the pond as well. In the UK, you can find the Inzone H6 Air for just £139 (was £179) at Amazon – another lowest-ever price. That UK offer only has a few hours to go, though, so snap it up while you still can.

The Sennheiser IE 200 are in-ear monitors (IEMs) that are ideal for audiophiles or musicians on a budget. They provide incredibly detailed, articulate audio for the price you pay, with clean and agile bass, well-defined mids, and precise treble — they truly are perfectly equipped to handle any genre. I've been using them regularly for two years now, I've seen no signs of wear or degradation, and I love using them when I want a more analytical, balanced listening experience.

The IE 200 use a 3.5mm connector, so they work great with laptops, MP3 players, and any phones that retain the now somewhat elusive headphone jack. In my Sennheiser IE 200 review, I lauded the IEMs for their fantastic, balanced audio, great build quality, and ultra lightweight, comfortable feel. They also have a really discreet, understated look in use, rather than assuming the chunky form that a lot of IEMs go for.

As they're IEMs, you're not going to get that V-shaped EQ curve with super prominent bass and treble — these are designed for more faithful, critical listening. That's not to say that the low-end or highs lack impact — quite the opposite. They sound incredibly dynamic and expressive, but are simply tuned in a way that intricate mids aren't overshadowed. As a result, casual listeners and audiophiles alike will find plenty to love about the sound here.

Their excellent instrument separation gives plenty of room for every instrument in a mix to breathe, and if you're new to IEMs, you'll almost certainly be wowed by their ability to expose details you've never noticed in your favorite tracks. The IE 200 are a true value-for-money behemoth, so don't miss these impeccable deals that make them even more affordable.

Using combined AC and DC input with Bluetti's TurboBoost technology, the battery can reach 80% in as little as 50 minutes. Built-in MPPT technology also allows it to work with compatible solar panels, making it useful for camping trips.

In his four-star review, our expert Collin said it was "'dependable, durable, robust, and purposefully designed." Price context & historical value

Via Amazon.com, this is $100 more than the lowest price it's been in the US ($799 during October Prime Day), although through third-party sellers, it was previously $699 during last year's Black Friday sales. So, a fair deal, but not a record low - I'd consider holding off until November at the current post-Prime Day price. In the UK, it has been as low as £799 in the past, but not for over a year. During Prime Day, it hit £849, so not too far off its current price.

Amazon Prime Day is in full swing and while there are plenty of tempting deals to be had for all sorts of tech in general, the computing component side of the big sale is a depressingly barren place.

When it comes to the core components of a PC which have been hit hardest by the memory crisis – RAM sticks, SSDs, and GPUs – the deals which Amazon is offering may look like sizeable discounts on the face of it, but they aren't when you consider the pricing which these products were available at last year.

A case in point: the Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB SSD is currently half price at $335 (down from $680) at Amazon US, but a year ago, it was $165 in the Prime Day sale. So, in fact, this year you are paying twice as much as in 2025, which doesn't feel great.

That said, in the overall SSD landscape, this is now a decent price, which just shows how bad the RAM crisis has made everything.

Of course, the pricing of RAM itself is particularly painful. For example, there's a 64GB RAM kit (2 x 32GB modules) from Crucial on sale with 7% off at Amazon UK, but it's £690 after that discount. A year ago, that same kit was £170. Ouch.

A more commonplace 32GB kit (2 x 16GB) from Crucial is now on offer at Amazon UK with a 22% discount, bringing it down to £400 – while a year ago it was £108.

Let that sink in for a moment: it's an effective quadrupling of the prices in both these RAM examples.

As for GPUs, the Asus Prime RX 9070 XT Gaming graphics card has a 23% discount on Amazon US, reducing it to $829. Yet in the Prime Day sale a year ago, this was at $690 (and it actually dropped to $649 for the holiday season on Amazon, so it's now close to 30% pricier than that when it's on sale).

What a difference a year makes, and sadly a very negative difference, but while it's undeniably bleak out there, thankfully there are a few deals worth considering for Prime Day components in the US and UK.

I'll list them below, and they include what might be the best deals you'll get on a mid-range and a higher-end GPU for possibly quite a long time (depending on how the RAM crisis continues to affect video memory, and the latest hints aren't good).

I'm a habitual audiobook listener, but I get a lot of my listening done at night. I calm my mind with books that I've read before and enjoyed, usually older classics like Sherlock Holmes stories, The Three Musketeers or The Lord of the Rings.

I've used the Sonos Beam Gen 2 extensively during my years testing audio-visual gadgets here at TechRadar, and it's never failed to impress me.

One area in which it excels is with its bass output. It provides palpable low-end sound when you consider that it's such a small model, helping dark, ambient movie scores and high-octane action sequences feel super-impactful.

Sure, the lack of dedicated height channels means you're getting Dolby Atmos using software processing and virtual height channels (rather than real, physical upward-firing drivers), but the Beam Gen 2 still sounds convincingly immersive. You can also customize its sound in the Sonos app, pair up supported Sonos speakers to turn it into a soundbar system, or even transfer audio over to your Sonos Ace or Sonos Ace Ultra headphones if you want to indulge in a private listening session.

The Beam Gen 2's compact size also makes it perfect for apartment living, or for adding to a spare room. It's an excellent small soundbar, and at this price, it's well worth snapping up — but be quick, Amazon Prime Day is almost over!

There's no question about it. The cheapest 4TB SSD you can get right now is the Acer FA200 4TB internal SSD is now $480 at Amazon, which I previously saw listed for $530. In the UK, the FA200 is priced at £430 for anyone who needs extra PC storage.

That makes it the cheapest SSD per TB since February this year, at less than $0.12 per GB. Of course, thanks to the component crisis, that's still a lot more expensive than it was a year ago - but unless you're willing to help me install a Flux Capacitor into my car, it's the best price for an SSD of this capacity and speed that I've seen.

Why I recommend this deal

At this price, that works out at $120 per TB (or a little under 12cents per GB, if you prefer), which is the most affordable I've seen in the deals.

The drive is well-specced for both general computing, as well as heavy workloads like video editing, 3D rendering, and gaming. Connectivity-wise, it features a PCIe Gen4 with hitting read speeds of 7,200 MB/s and write speeds of 6,200 MB/s.

It compares very well to competing 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs like the Samsung SSD 990 Pro ($938.99), which costs almost twice the price for a marginally faster performance or the Western Digital 4TB SN5000 Blue, which costs the same but has a way slower performance.

The FA200 got a solid 60% from our sister publication, Tomshardware. The reviewer noted that it has an above average overall performance, is power efficient and runs cool but suffers from poor sustained write performance.

After what feels like forever, GTA 6 is finally due for release on November 19, 2026. With that in mind, it might be a good time to think about upgrading your TV for this generation's most anticipated game. Thankfully, Amazon Prime Day has arrived with deals on top TVs.

Our 3 perfect for GTA 6 TVs

LG C6

The LG C6 is truly the whole package, delivering brilliant performance with every feature you could need and all for a better price than its rivals. Available in 42-83-inch sizes, it really can fit any room: perfect for a gaming setup.

The C6 carries a full suite of features for gaming, with 4K 165Hz, full VRR (including FreeSync and G-Sync), Dolby Vision gaming and ALLM, as well as a ton of Game Optimizer settings to really customize your playstyle. I measured the C6's input lag time at 9.2ms for 4K 60Hz (with Boost activated) and 4.7ms for 1080p 120Hz: which are both superb results.

In practice, gaming on the C6 was incredibly smooth. Darting around battle sequences in Battlefield V to avoid enemy gunfire was judder-free, and the C6 showcased its razor-sharp response times whenever a big battle took place. As you're tearing around Vice City in GTA 6, expect a very smooth experience on the C6.

The C6's picture quality is up there with the best TVs. During my testing, its bold, dynamic colors were perfect for movies like Elemental, accurately rendering the dazzling oranges and blues of the fire and water people respectively. Expect the same when you're exploring Vice City's streets, whether it's the neon-clad nightlife or the bright, vibrant outfits of the locals. The C6 also has deep, inky blacks as you'd expect from an OLED: perfect for night-time scenes.

The C6 excels in offering everything you need from a TV, and while it is a premium price for many, what offers for said price is incredible value, often cheaper than its major rivals.

TCL QM7L/TCL C7L

The TCL QM7L (known as the C7L in the UK) is the definition of value. We thought it "almost reached the heights of TCL's flagship TVs, but at a much lower price". While it may not have the brightness of the step-up QM8L/C8L, it still delivers great colors, excellent clarity and brilliant backlight control. We haven't fully tested the C7L ourselves yet, but should be virtually identical to the QM7L as they carry the same SQD mini-LED panel, processor and features.

The QM7L is well equipped for gaming, with 4K 144Hz, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision gaming and ALLM all featured. During our testing, we found that "whether it was Madden 26 or Star Wars: Outlaws, the picture was crisp and the action was smooth." This bodes well for the chaotic, open-world of GTA 6, where the action will almost certainly need to be smooth as you try to shake-ff a five-star wanted level.

The QM7L's picture is truly impressive for the price. Watching The Batman, we found the QM7L rendered the fast-paced Batmobile chase scene with real clarity. Watching Coco, the QM7L faithfully delivered the vibrant colors of the land of the dead. The QM7L also shows off TCL's Halo Control System, resulting in great backlight control during a scene in Soul, where a bright character against a dark background showed no blooming.

As we said above, we've not fully tested the C7L in the UK yet, but we have tested its predecessor the C7K which in itself was a brilliant TV. With a new SQD mini-LED panel, it can only get better.

The real highlight here though is the QM7L's price. Launching for a great price, the QM7L receives regular discounts throughout the year and is often among the most competitively priced TV on the market.

LG B6

Unsurprisingly, the third TV on this list is another LG OLED, but this time it's the entry-level LG B6. If you've been researching this TV, you may notice that in certain sizes, there are two models: the B6 and B6E. I've personally tested both these TVs and aside from some AI picture features and a plainer back panel, the B6E performs virtually the same and carries the same major features but at a cheaper price.

The B6 comes equipped with four HDMI 2.1 ports that support 4K 120Hz, full VRR, ALLM and Dolby Vision gaming, as well as the Game Optimizer menu: virtually the same feature-set as the step-up C6. I also measured the B6's input lag at 8.9ms at 4K 60Hz and 4.9 at 1080p 120Hz, which are amazing results.

Playing Battlefield V on the B6, I found the TV's response times to be fantastic, resulting in super-smooth gameplay. Whether I was flying around the skies in a commandeered plane in a desert mission or sprinting to avoid enemy fire, the B6 expertly handled the action. For GTA 6 then, as you're no doubt tearing around the streets of Vice City in some ridiculously fast car, you can expect the B6 will do a great job with the action.

The B6's picture quality is also great. Its colors are rich and vibrant, making the pink flowers in a tree from Wicked or the dazzling oranges, reds and purples of a glittery vase in Elemental all pop on screen. It also demonstrates strong contrast, with a great balance between light and dark tones, shown in The Batman's many high-contrast scenes. As you're moving around Vice City, whether it's during the colorful nightlife or bright daytime, the B6 is sure to deliver a well-rounded picture.

It's worth noting that the B6E is better value than the B6, but both are still great entry-level OLED prices. The B6 is your only option in 48-inch, but this TV has dropped to some seriously low prices. And in larger sizes, the B6E is a no-brainer.

OLED TVs have typically struggled when it comes to bright-room viewing, and while they're improving at the flagship end of the market, mid-range models can still struggle — apart from the Samsung S90H. Samsung's latest mid-range OLED uses a glare-free screen, and right now it's on sale for Amazon Prime Day.

If you're in the US, you can get the 65-inch Samsung S90H for $1,497.99 (was $1,897.99) at Amazon, which is its lowest ever price since its release in April this year.

If you're in the UK, you can pick up the 55-inch S90H for £1,499 (was £1,599) at Currys. The LG C5 55-inch is cheaper at the moment, but if you have a bright room, the S90H is the better option (more on that below).

Today's best Samsung S90H deals

Great for bright rooms

While the LG C6 is one of the best OLED TVs I've tested this year, one issue I had with it is its reflective screen. Reflections have plagued OLED for years, but Samsung's Glare Free tech, introduced in 2023, does a fantastic job of eliminating mirror-like reflections in bright rooms. However, it was reserved for the flagship S95 OLED series, until now.

The Samsung S90H, the 2026 mid-range OLED model, has the Glare Free screen, and it fills a mid-range-OLED-for-bright-rooms-sized hole in the market. While I've not fully tested the S90H yet (though it's waiting in our test lab), I did get to see it in-person.

Testing the S90H in a room with plenty of natural light on a bright morning was the perfect test for the S90H's Glare Free screen, and it did better than I imagined. Watching dark movies like The Revenant was surprisingly hassle-free, with the S90H retaining deep black tones while effectively eliminating the mirror-like reflections of the large balcony windows next to me.

This feat was even more impressive given that the S90H won't have the brightness of the flagship S95H/S99H, which further helps the latter with bright-room viewing.

Outside of its bright-room viewing capabilities, the S90H delivers punchy HDR highlights, along with vibrant, bold and accurate colors. The night market scene in Blade Runner: 2049 was a perfect showcase for this, as well as for the S90H's crisp, lifelike textures.

For gamers, the S90H carries a feature set similar to the best gaming TVs. It has four HDMI 2.1 ports, with 4K 165Hz, full VRR (including FreeSync and G-Sync), HDR10+ gaming, ALLM and the very useful Game Hub which offers plenty of cloud gaming options.

If you're looking for a mid-range OLED for a bright room, the S90H really is a no-brainer and this is the best price you're going to find it today.

It wouldn’t be much of an Amazon Prime Day if Amazon’s own devices weren’t on sale, so as you might expect, various Fire tablets are discounted right now, including — depending on your region — the Amazon Fire Max 11, the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023), the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024), the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2023), and the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids (2024).

Amazon’s Fire tablets always act as relatively affordable alternatives to the likes of an iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab, and right now they’re even more of a bargain, with the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023), for example, now just $72.99 (was $154.99) in the US, while in the UK, the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024) is £64.99 (was £124.99).

But you might want to hold off on buying one of these tablets anyway, as a new model could be about to land. We’ll get into that below, but first, if you can’t wait, here are the deals available right now:

Why you might want to wait

Amazon Prime Day is traditionally a great time to buy Fire tablets, and that’s largely true this year as well, but it’s worth knowing what you might be missing out on if you do grab one of these deals.

Various leaks have suggested that a new Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet might launch by the end of the year, replacing the current model — which has already been discontinued in the US anyway.

We first heard about this upcoming tablet back in 2025, when we learned that it might run Android rather than Fire OS, meaning you’d have access to the Google Play Store and more apps than you can get on Amazon’s existing Fire tablets.

That said, it might also be priced higher, with that report pointing to a $400 (roughly £300 / AU$575) price tag — and with the RAM crisis ongoing, it’s possible it could be even higher now.

Much more recently, this tablet appeared again, with an FCC (Federal Communications Commission) application being filed and spotted by GoodEreader. That was filed in late August, and typically products launch within a few months of the filing, so we’ll likely see the Amazon Fire Max 11 this year.

Its other specs, according to this latest report, apparently include a MediaTek MT8189 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, making this a low-end to mid-range device — but still more powerful than Amazon’s current Fire tablets.

So, whether this device is worth waiting for will probably depend on how much power you need, whether Android is a big draw, and whether you’re willing to pay for these upgrades.

Best all-round

Ninja Luxe Café Premier

This Ninja coffee maker (originally called the Luxe Café) is a makes espresso, filter coffee, and cold brew all in one, and is excellent for beginners. When preparing an espresso, for example, the machine does the hard work of dialing in the grinder for you, suggesting an appropriate grind size and then funneling the prepared coffee neatly into the filter basket.

A calibrated tamper helps you create a perfectly even bed of coffee, and once the handle is inserted under the brewing group, the Luxe Café Premier will time your shot to make sure it's not extracting too fast or slow.

You can push the steam wand down into your milk jug to use the automatic frothing system, or lift it a few degrees to use it manually, depending on how confident you feel. We found that the auto system worked equally well with dairy milk and plant-based substitutes like oat and almond.

The Luxe Café Premier takes the trial and error out of making coffee, handling the trickiest barista tasks for you and helping even first-time users produce a consistently well-extracted brew with a fully rounded flavor, and comes highly recommended.

Best automatic

Ninja AutoBarista Pro

The Ninja AutoBarista Pro is another multi-function coffee maker, but unlike the Luxe Café, this is a fully automatic machine that handles the entire brewing process for you. Just pick your preferred drink from the full color touchscreen, then sit back while the Pro does the work.

This is an upgraded version of the original AutoBarista, with the added benefit of swappable bean carafes so you can choose between two different coffees on the fly (perfect if, like me, you prefer to switch to decaf in the afternoon), plus an expanded menu. The 'Grind IQ' feature automatically dials in the ideal grind size for your chosen beans, and you can choose to brew hot or cold, with the latter producing a mellow, smooth-tasting drink that's ideal for summer days.

The automatic milk frother is a real highlight as well. During our tests it worked equally well with dairy and plant-based milk, and can produce different textures depending on the drink you've selected, with just the right proportions of steamed milk and foam.

Best for drip coffee

Ninja Prestige DualBrew System

This two-in one coffee maker, also known as the Ninja Espresso and Coffee Barista System in the US, is part drip coffee maker, part Nespresso machine — and it's ideal for mornings when you're feeling groggy and want to enjoy a fresh brew as quickly as possible.

The drip coffee maker on the left-hand side offers a choice of brew sizes, three profiles (normal, rich, and over ice), and a timer so you can prepare everything last thing at night. When you wake, the double-walled carafe will be full of fresh coffee, kept at the ideal temperature by a smart hot plate designed to avoid overheating your drink and spoiling its flavor — and it works.

The Nespresso machine on the right-hand side uses Nespresso Original pods (the ones shaped like a little top hat) and again offers a choice of three brew sizes. Once it's reached temperature (both parts of the Barista System use the same water tank), it can brew a very nicely balanced espresso in about a minute.

You'll find some other big names in there too, including some of the best-known audio and home theater brands, as well as some ultra-affordable bargains for buyers on a budget.

Last month, Canon added the EOS R8 Mark II to its range of full-frame mirrorless cameras, and it brought a new 'retro' look with a 'modern twist' that has divided opinion — I think it looks more like a Sony than an analog Canon. It's a decent upgrade of the original EOS R8 mind you, adding image stabilization and a handy multi-controller (AF joystick). The original EOS R8 now costs much less, but if you're interested in the latest model, then I'd argue there's an even better option for the money this week in the Amazon Prime Day sales — the EOS R6 Mark II.

The EOS R6 Mark costs $1,999 at Amazon (US), but the standout deal has to be one in the UK — the EOS R6 Mark II with two additional batteries for £1,599 (was £2,299). Those prices are similar to the EOS R8 Mark II, which is available for pre-order ahead of its October 20 sales start, and has no discount currently. As such, I believe the mid-range EOS R6 Mark II is a much better deal, despite being almost four years older.

For starters, the EOS R6 Mark II (recently updated / replaced by the EOS R6 Mark III) has a better build quality — feeling very much in line with Canon's pro cameras rather than entry-level / enthusiast models, like the EOS R8 Mark II does.

As part of this premium build quality, the EOS R6 Mark II features dual card slots to the EOS R8 Mark II's single slot. It also has a bigger battery with more than double the shot life, and a bigger and better 3.69m-dot EVF with 0.76x magnification (the EOS R8 Mark II's is a 2.36m-dot unit with 0.7x magnification). It also has a mechanical and electronic shutter, whereas the EOS R8 Mark II only has an electronic shutter.

Does the EOS R8 Mark II have any factors in its favor? Well, it's smaller and lighter, has the new design which also comes with a tally lamp for video recording, plus Canon's latest autofocus, but that's about it. The two cameras share many similar features, mind you, including the 24MP full-frame sensor with image stabilization.

The EOS R6 Mark II price drop has truly changed the picture, and if you don't mind the slightly heftier premium body, it's the one I'd recommend. I've included the best deals for both cameras below, and added the original EOS R8 and EOS RP too.

Amazon Prime Day, of course, means discounts on various Kindles, but they’re not the only ereaders that are going cheap — you can also get a tiny Xteink X4 Pro, X4 Classic, or X3 at a reduced price.

These ereaders each have screens of between 3.7 and 4.3 inches, so they’re truly tiny compared to the 6-inch+ Amazon Kindle options. But while you might think you want a book-sized ereader, there’s something to be said for a smaller size — and the temptingly low prices that go with it; the Xteink X3, for example, costs just $58.65 / £62.25 (down from $69 / £79).

In fact, I’m a full-on convert, with my Kindle Colorsoft collecting dust while I read on smaller devices. I’ll explain why below, but first, here’s a look at the current Xteink deals:

Why I love Xteinks, and which I’d buy

I’m the proud owner of an Xteink X4 Pro, and I’ve written before about my love of this device, but if anything, the more I use it, the more I like it. At just 72g, it’s so light as to feel like almost nothing at all in your hand, so you won’t feel like you’re getting a workout if you hold it up for an extended reading session.

It’s also tiny (111 x 69 x 5.95mm), so you can easily slip it into a small pocket — or, thanks to its magnetic back, attach it to the rear of your phone, giving you a second screen there to read ebooks on.

Either way, that makes it easy to carry with you everywhere, and I’ve found that means I get a lot more reading done.

All that, coupled with impressive battery life and key ereader features like a front light, makes this a device that’s never far from me.

And sure, it is harder to get books onto the Xteink X4 Pro than a Kindle, as you have to sideload them, but that’s my only major complaint with it.

Since buying the Xteink X4 Pro, the Xteink X4 Classic has launched, which has the same 4.3-inch screen, but it’s not a touchscreen, which it is on the Pro, and there’s no front light. Those compromises make it a less appealing device to me — and yes, it’s cheaper, but by ereader standards, none of these models are particularly expensive.

So, my pick would still be the Xteink X4 Pro — or the even smaller 3.7-inch Xteink X3, which also lacks a touchscreen and a light, but could appeal if you want the tiniest ereader possible.

As TechRadar's Senior Fitness and Wearables Editor, it's my job to test every Garmin watch that crosses my desk. As a result, I've tested almost every modern Garmin watch released in the last five years, and I've parsed the Amazon Prime Day Garmin deals to find the best Garmin watches worth your time.

It's tough to just say "buy this one" and be done with it, because there are a) so many different Garmin watches, each with their own target demographic — adventurers, runners, gym-goers and so on — and b) so many different deals across the US and UK.

I'm not seeing the broad swathes of discounts I've seen in previous years. However, the three deals I've picked offer good value for money — should get a lot out of whichever watch you choose, especially at these reduced prices.

Below, you can find the three models I've chosen, links to the deals, plus a little bit about why I've chosen these particular models, and who should buy them.

Garmin Fenix 8

• US deal: Garmin Fenix 8 (47mm): was $999.99 now $731.34 on Amazon US
• UK deal: Garmin Fenix 8 (47mm): was £699.99 now £595.56 on Amazon UK

The Garmin Fenix 8 is a powerful watch. In our official Garmin Fenix 8 review, we gave it five stars, calling it "rugged, expensive perfection". It's amazing for long-distance running, skiing, multi-day hikes, and any workout that involves finding your way outdoors. However, it's not cheap.

That's why it's nice to see some lowest-ever prices in the US and the UK for this watch. We know the reason why — the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro and 9 have just been released, so it's only natural to see the Fenix 8 coming down in price. However, that doesn't stop a Fenix 8 for under $750 / £600 feeling less like an extravagant purchase and more like a smart deal.

This is the Garmin deal to get if you're a serious outdoor enthusiast, long-distance athlete, or hiker.

Garmin Forerunner 165

• US deal: Garmin Forerunner 165: was $249.99 now $198.99 at Amazon US
• UK price: Garmin Forerunner 165: now £160.99 at Amazon UK

The Garmin Forerunner 165, like the Garmin Fenix 8, has been replaced in the lineup this year by a more recent model, this time the Garmin Forerunner 170. As a result, we're seeing prices drop on the older model, which means you're getting a good watch at a great price.

When I reviewed the Garmin Forerunner 165, I gave it 4.5 stars, noting its wonderful bright screen, feature-rich software and 11-day battery life as good value for the price even then. It's all-plastic, so it can feel a bit cheap, but it does make the training tool very lightweight.

The US deal gets you 20% off, and while the UK Amazon deal doesn't state a temporary drop in price, it began life as a £249.99 watch, and Currys has it listed at £199 right now, meaning the above Amazon link is the cheapest place to buy it.

As the name suggests, regular runners should look closely at this watch. While it doesn't have full-color maps, it's got more than enough functionality for most people running distances from 5-10km up to marathons, in addition to daily health tracking.

Garmin Vivoactive 5/6

• US deal: Garmin Vivoactive 5: was $299.99 now $189.90 at Amazon US
• UK deal: Garmin Vivoactive 6: was £234.99 now £176.34 at Amazon UK

The Garmin Vivoactive series is a watch for generally active people, rather than one specifically geared towards runners or adventurers, and as a result, it's very popular. I gave the Garmin Vivoactive 6 an impressive 4.5 stars in my review, calling it "a pocket rocket" Its small size and cheaper price make it a great gift, and it's come down in price in the UK.

In the US, the Vivoactive 6 is still at full price. However, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is shockingly cheap in America, and there isn't that much difference between them. The Vivoactive 6 packs advanced running metrics, course mapping on-wrist, double the storage its Smart Wake alarm, but the two watches share the same screen, software, battery life, fitness tracking and general look.

I'd recommend these watches to gym-goers, joggers or sporty people — anyone who loves the gym or multi-disciplinary forms of exercise, and wants something longer-lasting than an Apple or Samsung watch.

Forza Horizon 6 is easily one of the best Xbox games this generation, so the fact that its limited-edition controller is not only still available but actively discounted came as a massive surprise. I couldn't believe it when I saw the Xbox Wireless Controller - Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition on offer for just £57.99 (was £84.99) at Amazon as part of the ongoing Amazon Prime Day sales.

The special design is a celebration of all things Forza Horizon, which means bright colors and a bombastic printed design. The faceplate is a translucent blue, decorated with colorful shapes and a minimalist road-like pattern, while the thumbsticks are a bold pink, complemented by the multi-color buttons.

It's a very eye-catching pad, and one that Forza Horizon fans or controller collectors shouldn't pass up.

Back in June, Apple raised the price of its iPads due to "significantly higher memory costs," but Amazon Prime Day has at least made these excellent tablets a little more affordable in the short term.

In the US, for instance, the iPad mini 8.3-inch (2024) is now $499 (was $599), which is equal to its starting price pre-RAM crisis. Frustratingly, the same tablet has been available for as little as $399 in previous Prime Day sales, but with the RAM crisis expected to last at least another three years, the chances of ever seeing such low iPad prices again are extremely slim.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the iPad Air 11-inch (2026) is currently on sale for £669 (was £749). That's not quite as low as its pre-rise £599 price, but it's not far off. Beggars can't be choosers, as the saying goes.

How to choose which model to buy

As for which iPad you should choose, well, that depends on your specific usage habits. We’ve got a dedicated guide to the best iPads elsewhere on TechRadar, but I'll give you a quick rundown of each model's key features here.

The iPad 11-inch (2025) is the model to choose if you want a tablet for streaming movies, scrolling social media, and FaceTiming family and friends. It's not a workhorse by any means, but with an 11-inch LED display and a capable A16 chipset, Apple's most basic iPad is still the best tablet you can get for around the $400 / £400 mark.

The smaller iPad mini 8.3-inch (2024) bumps up the power with a more powerful chipset and Apple Intelligence compatibility, but honestly, you probably won't notice these features unless you're planning on using your iPad as a productivity tool, in which case I'd recommend jumping straight to the iPad Air instead.

Why? Well, firstly, the iPad Air 13-inch (2026) is available in two more work-friendly sizes than the iPad mini. It's also got a MacBook-level M4 chipset and 12GB of RAM, so it can power through productivity-focused applications and multitask with ease.

If you plan to draw up documents, create presentations, and edit photos, the iPad Air is the model to go for — it hits the sweet spot between value and performance.

Lastly, there's the iPad Pro 11-inch (2025), which you should only be considering if you’re a digital artist or full-time video editor.

This ridiculously high-spec device has the best display of any tablet on the market (a 120Hz OLED), as well as the most powerful chipset in the Apple M5, making it perfect for 3D modeling and advanced video rendering.

If you’re not planning on doing either of those things, though, then the iPad Pro is the definition of overkill — especially at Apple's post-increase prices.
