Is the keyboard the key to BB 10 success?

Thanks to the 8MP camera housed on the back of the BlackBerry Q10 you're able to shoot video in full 1080p HD, with the front facing 2MP lens also offering a decent 720p recording option.

The video recorder is accessed via the camera app - you'll need to hit the camera icon and select the video camera - and it's pretty basic in terms of funtionality.

As with the camera the whole screen is a shutter key, so any accidental prod will start you off filming.

There's nothing new added from the BB 10.1 update, so you're stuck with the option to record in either 720p or 1080p (if you're using the rear cam), toggle the light on or off (which can also be changed while recording), choose between normal or stabilisation shooting modes and select from two scene modes - night and beach or snow - although once again auto did us just fine.

Auto-focus will try and determine what it needs to concentrate as you record, but it can sometimes take a couple of seconds to readjust if you're moving around, or if there's a lot happening in front of you.

Video footage is pretty decent for a smartphone and considering BlackBerry handsets of old had pretty sub-par camera options anyone upgrading to the Q10 will be more than happy with what is being produced.
