Repeated letters are quite common in the game, with 748 of the 2,309 Wordle answers containing one. However, it's still more likely that a Wordle doesn't have one.

A is a relatively common ending letter. It ranks 10th in this regard and today's game is one of 63 in which you'll find an A there.

Today's Wordle answer (game #1821) is… SEPIA.

Here's a fact for you: despite the fact that S is by far the most common starting letter in the game, and E the most common letter overall, there are only 14 Wordles in which the format is SE--- — versus a massive 74 where it's S---E.

That detail threw me off my game today, leading me in the wrong direction early on and contributing to a score of a four on a day when the average is a mere 3.6.

Of course having an S, A and E in my opening guess should have made the task much easier, and indeed it did cut the options to only 30. But I got overconfident and guessed WHACK on the second attempt, reasoning that the E would definitely go at the end in an S-A-E format and that I therefore didn't need to establish its position.

So, when the A in the middle stayed yellow, I realized I had miscalculated and instead went with STEAM based on what I thought was a choice of that, STEAL and STEAD. But once again I'd not properly placed that pesky E and had to finally play SEPIA on the fourth attempt. Not my finest hour.

Yesterday's Wordle hints (game #1820)

In a different time zone where it's still Saturday? Don't worry — I can give you some clues for Wordle #1820, too.

• Wordle yesterday had vowels in two places*

* Note that by vowel we mean the five standard vowels (A, E, I, O, U), not Y (which is sometimes counted as a vowel too).

• The first letter in yesterday's Wordle answer was Q.

Q is one of the least likely letters to start a Wordle answer – but then again, it's also one of the least common letters in the game anywhere!

• There were repeated letters in yesterday's Wordle.

Repeated letters are quite common in the game, with 748 of the 2,309 Wordle answers containing one. However, it's still more likely that a Wordle doesn't have one.

• The last letter in yesterday's Wordle was L.

L is a really common letter to find at the end of a Wordle. There are 155 games that finish with an L, and it ranks as the fifth most likely letter there.

Yesterday's Wordle answer (game #1820) was… QUELL.

We weren't due a Q game yet, but a Q game is what we have today. There are only 29 of them among the 2,309 original solutions, meaning you'd only expect one every 79 games. But here one is, a mere 46 days after QUACK (game #1,774).

It's arguably harder than that word, on account of also containing a repeated letter. Plus of course it's a less common word than QUACK, a word so common that every three-year-old knows it and probably regularly sings it at pre-school.

Both have the same average score of 3.9, however, and I don't know why that would be. One of Wordle's little mysteries…

For me, it was another relatively straightforward game, with my second guess of CLOUT doing a lot of heavy lifting and leaving only four options. I found three of the four — BULGE, BUGLE and GUILE — but completely missed QUELL and so was lucky that it was the only word left for my fourth attempt.

What is Wordle?

If you're on this page then you almost certainly know what Wordle is already, and indeed have probably been playing it for a while. And even if you've not been playing it, you must surely have heard of it by now, because it's the viral word game phenomenon that took the world by storm in 2022 and is still going strong in 2026.

Even though I understood today’s theme I still struggled to find all of the la-de-da titles after exhausting the obvious ones of EARL, LADY and LORD and needed hints to get to the finish line.

NOBILITY has become a strange thing in the United Kingdom; the days when we revered them are long gone. They are less visible in society, but they still exist and enjoy opulent lifestyles on a different planet to most people and have the ability to look down their noses at everyone — no amount of money can buy you access to their club.

The only way to think of the subject of peers is as peculiar comedy characters, which is why I spent most of this game remembering the brilliant Grey Poupon TV adverts from the 1980s and '90s — it even has wine, don't you know.

• Conan O'Brien fronts a new cybersecurity training video series
• Adaptive combines comedy and security awareness for corporate employees

Cybersecurity awareness programs have struggled with a persistent problem for years — employees often treat mandatory training sessions as routine box-ticking exercises.

Adaptive Security is attempting a different approach by bringing iconic talk show host Conan O'Brien into a new training initiative focused on modern digital threats.

The New York-based company has produced a 15-part educational series featuring O'Brien to help corporate users understand growing online security risks.

Cybersecurity education gets a celebrity face

The videos examine issues including phishing attacks, impersonation attempts, voice cloning schemes, deepfakes, and other forms of fraud associated with AI technologies.

According to the company, each episode begins with a comedy segment connected to the subject being discussed before moving into the educational material.

The production involved collaboration between Adaptive Security employees and staff from Team Coco, the media company associated with O'Brien's entertainment projects.

Adaptive said the series will be available to enterprise customers using its training and cybersecurity awareness products.

Alongside the celebrity-led content, the company is also releasing additional educational videos that do not feature O'Brien.

“I teamed up with Adaptive Security just to figure out what these kids are up to. Turns out it's pretty cool,” O'Brien said in a statement.

The partnership reportedly emerged after company employees expressed appreciation for some of O'Brien's long-running comedy sketches and recurring TV segments.

Rather than focusing on entertainment audiences, however, the training material is intended for employees navigating complex workplace security challenges.

AI fraud is creating new concerns

Adaptive Security was founded in 2024 and develops products intended to help organizations recognize and respond to cyber threats.

Its offerings include security awareness courses, phishing simulations, and other services supported by a combination of proprietary and publicly available AI models.

Company executives argue that the threat landscape has changed significantly as generative AI tools become more widely available.

According to Adaptive's chief product officer, Andrew Jones, attacks have become more sophisticated and frequent.

“There’s really a before and after,” Jones said while discussing the growing influence of AI on cybercrime activity.

“There’s the before, which was pre-AI, and then there’s the after, which is after AI — and after AI, these attacks have gotten much more sophisticated.”

He added that businesses need clear strategies because emerging technologies are making fraud campaigns increasingly difficult to detect and counter.

Industry forecasts frequently cited by cybersecurity firms suggest financial losses connected to AI-enabled fraud may continue rising during the coming years.

Adaptive points to these projections as evidence of growing risks and argues that improved training may help organizations reduce their exposure.

The company has attracted significant investor backing, raising more than $140 million from several funding rounds involving prominent technology investors.

This financial support reflects broader interest in cybersecurity products as organizations face growing pressure to strengthen employee awareness programs.

For many businesses, the challenge extends beyond producing training materials and involves maintaining employee attention throughout these sessions.

I took myself to the brink of losing today, because I spelt STEED incorrectly. 

Usually this is not an issue, but in today’s case STEDE was also a word.

With a guess wasted I got lucky that with the letters I had left; there were only two possible words ending U-L-L-Y: “fully” and GULLY. Thankfully, the D and the B had been eliminated earlier.

“Track event” — that’s athletics right? Err, nope.

Fortunately the spangram — KARAOKE — was very difficult to miss, so I didn’t have to work looking for shot put, discus and javelin. Instead, our quest was searching for musical words.

I have always avoided KARAOKE, both having to sing — which is a nightmare — and also the horror of people murdering some of the greatest songs of all time. It is quite hard to avoid in TV shows, though; recently I suffered my way through Alfred Molina attempting Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen in the otherwise enjoyable The Boroughs. At least I think it was Thunder Road. It’s the sort of thing that should come with a warning before you start watching.

Anyway, I digress… the game was an easy one, made all the easier by a couple of long game words in MICROPHONE and LOUDSPEAKER.

Yesterday's NYT Strands answers (Friday, June 12, game #831)

It's safe to say that Meta had a rough Friday morning, with users unable to access Facebook and WhatsApp shortly before 10AM ET.

The initial issues appear to be concentrated on WhatsApp, where users were reporting that the app's main screen failed to load. However, Facebook ended up bearing the brunt of Meta's issues this morning – I encountered the "something went wrong" error, then the classic logo, and then an empty feed that wasn't loading for a while. Down Detector reports quickly spiked to over 100,000 for Facebook issues and then fell to under 5,000 in the hours after

We tracked the disruptions affecting Facebook, WhatsApp, and other Meta platforms in the live blog below, but the issue has since been resolved, with Meta's status page indicating a resolution has been implemented.

A look at Down Detector

It's clear that many of Meta's platforms are having some issues currently, as you can see at the top of Down Detector in the United States.

Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram are at the top of the list, with the first currently leading with over 120,000 reports.

Right now, I still can't get Facebook on the desktop to load; parts of the interface appear, like the main sidebars, but the actual content is missing. Now, I'm in New Jersey experiencing this, but my TechRadar colleagues in the UK are seeing a similar situation, with some posts appearing and then the feed appearing blank.

It does appear that Meta's engineers and other teams might have figured out the issue pretty quickly, though, as Facebook is again loading for a few of my colleagues, and reports on Down Detector are starting to drop for issues with Facebook and Messenger.

Facebook does appear to be recovering a bit. I was able to load the homepage and saw a few posts in the feed, but when I tried to click into one, I just saw the logo centered and Meta at the bottom, so it appears there might still be some issues with parts of the platform.

On iOS, the Facebook app is still experiencing issues, mainly with the top story bar appearing empty and the feed serving older stories. For my colleague Josephine Watson in the UK, she's getting a 'Try Again' error at the top of her feed.

Meta confirms four issues with 'business products'

While Facebook is recovering and loading in a much closer to normal form than what we're seeing closer to the top of the hour, Meta's business products status page is showing an active disruption for 'Facebook Ads Manager,' 'Messenger API for Instagram,' 'Messenger Platform,' and 'WhatsApp Business Platform.'

Suffice it to say, it's clear that the issues affecting Meta span platforms – Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp included.

Down Detector reports are dropping

While reported issues with Facebook on Down Detector were over 120,000 nearly an hour ago, that number has fallen pretty sharply as the service has begun to recover. In the last update at 10:47 AM ET on Down Detector, Facebook reports were at 12,286. It's worth noting that it slightly spiked back up, but it's still a massive drop from the height of this issue.

Even so, 12,000 reports are certainly higher than what we normally see on a normal day with Facebook, with no issues.

Handheld gaming is set to reach new heights in 2026 and beyond, with Intel's latest Panther Lake mobile processors providing more power for high-level performance — and Valve has just made life better for Intel-based handhelds.

Valve's SteamOS 3.8.8 beta includes improved hardware support for Intel platforms, additional controller support for MSI Claw devices, and initial firmware for upcoming Intel handhelds. That includes handhelds like the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, OneXPlayer 3, and the Acer Predator Atlas 8, all of which will use the Intel G3 Extreme processor.

Intel-based handhelds running SteamOS (or Bazzite) aren't anything new. However, performance with Intel hardware on the operating system hasn't been great, with devices like the MSI Claw 8 AI+ delivering worse game performance than Windows 11 — but it's the complete opposite for AMD-powered handhelds on SteamOS compared to Windows 11.

The appeal of SteamOS, besides its ease of use and console-like user interface, is its optimization for gaming in terms of memory usage, which Windows 11 lacks (and still falls behind Valve's SteamOS even with the Xbox Mode).

With that in mind, switching from Windows 11 to SteamOS for worse performance doesn't make much sense, and that's what has kept some owners of Intel-powered handhelds away from the Linux-based operating system.

Full Steam ahead for Intel chips

Fortunately, it's now evident that this is being addressed by Valve, as handheld enthusiast ETA Prime highlights with the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and its fluid performance results in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon.

Functions like sleep mode work as expected, which is great, but navigation and menu options still need updating, and the TDP (power consumption) can only be controlled via a Decky Loader plugin — plus the Steam menu button config needs to be added on Intel handhelds.

Regardless, this is a step in the right direction for these portables, and with more updates from Valve leading up to the launch of the new Intel-powered handhelds, this is definitely something to get excited about for those who don't have AMD-powered hardware.

• That makes it much easier to find things at a glance

Apple’s macOS Tahoe operating system came in for its fair share of criticism, particularly when it came to design decisions. One of the most controversial concerned the way it used icons in menus, but it now appears that macOS 27 Golden Gate introduced at Apple’s WWDC 2026 event has backtracked completely — much to the relief of long-suffering Apple fans. And it has big implications for anyone who wants a better experience of using their computer.

The problem in macOS Tahoe was that app menus were stuffed full of icons, making it very difficult to tell the difference between menu items at a glance. In macOS 27, that’s been scrubbed entirely, as noticed by programmer Nikita “Tonsky” Prokopov, with most menus now containing only a smattering of icons.

Now, only certain menu items have icons next to them, with others remaining simple text entries. That restores the menu design to the way it used to be and greatly reduces the visual clutter in macOS menus, reducing the work it requires to tell menu options apart.

As well as the design change, Prokopov noticed that Apple has also updated its guidelines for third-party designers, reminding them to “use menu items sparingly and with purpose.” Icons should be used to “highlight the most common actions and key features of your app,” Apple says. If a menu item doesn’t fit an existing icon, it probably shouldn’t be used.

Better late than never

Menu design might seem like a pretty niche gripe, but it can have a big impact on how you use your computer.

If you’re having to analyze fistfuls of icons every time you open a menu, it slows you down and can cause frustration. The entire purpose of an icon is to quickly convey meaning — if a menu is overflowing with icons, an icon’s meaning is quickly lost among the sea of competing visual elements. It’s one small thing, but it taps into a broader picture: good design makes using a product effortless; bad design makes it infuriating.

The situation was so bad in macOS Tahoe that it left prominent Apple commentators livid. Influential blogger John Gruber, for example, called macOS Tahoe’s menu icons “glaringly inconsistent and often utterly inscrutable.” Respected macOS developer Rogue Amoeba called them “infuriating.”

This is not the first time Apple has had icon trouble. Both macOS Tahoe and iOS 26 came with transparent icons that obliterated your ability to tell icons apart at a glance. It felt like Apple didn’t understand the basic principles of good design — and this is the company that’s meant to be a global design leader.

For me, the worst part of all this is that Apple’s menu design in macOS Tahoe broke its own rules. As pointed out by Prokopov, Apple’s Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines from way back in 1992 said that menus chock-full of icons could “overload the user.” And yet it still went ahead and ignored its own advice in macOS Tahoe anyway, often reusing the same icons for different menu items, sometimes right next to each other.

It all contributed to my despairing feeling that macOS Tahoe’s visual language was far worse than I initially realized. Under now-departed design chief Alan Dye, it seemed that Apple naively thought design meant taking something average and painting it in pretty colors, functionality be damned. In other words, exactly the kind of shallow thinking that Apple founder Steve Jobs railed against in the past.

Yet with macOS 27 fixing its menu icons and Alan Dye out of the way, things are looking up. Putting things right in your Mac’s menus might be a small step, but it suggests that Apple is starting to remember why good design makes everything better for its users. As Gruber put it, “it’s proof that the rot has been rooted out of Apple’s software design team.”

• Meanwhile, we're hearing that SK Hynix plans to accelerate development of its memory chip production capacity and triple it by 2034

The RAM crisis appears to have another side-effect, namely bringing back old GPUs, but there's some more positive news for the future from one of the big memory chip makers.

VideoCardz noticed the resurrection of a couple of Nvidia graphics cards that aren't even from the past generation, but the one before that: the RTX 3050 and 3060, which are GPUs from 2020 that have been brought back by Manli, a graphics card maker that mainly supplies Asia.

The Manli RTX 3060 which has returned from the dead is a 12GB model, whereas the RTX 3050 has 6GB of VRAM and a 70W power envelope, meaning that it can run off the PCIe slot (with no need to be connected to the PSU).

Elsewhere, the future of RAM is looking rosier, with news from SK Hynix, one of the major three players in making memory chips, that it's ensuring that manufacturing capacity is being ramped up in a big way going into the next decade.

Chey Tae-won, the chairman of SK Group, said in an interview with Nikkei Asia (via ComputerBase, as spotted by TweakTown): "Since we're proceeding with the plan to expand as much as possible, our calculations show that our wafer capacity will double within five years. But honestly, once all these facilities are built, it won't just double, it will triple by around 2034."

So that means by 2031, SK Hynix will have doubled its manufacturing capacity, and it'll only be a few years more until that's trebled, moving notably faster down the line. That said, this is a best-case scenario we're told, and those expectations could always slide.

Analysis: a notable acceleration

This represents SK Hynix putting its foot down on the RAM production pedal in a big way. We're now looking at eight years for a trebling of manufacturing capacity for DRAM and NAND flash memory chips, whereas previously the timeline for this was 20 years. Yes – two whole decades.

This is a measure of how much RAM demand SK Hynix is expecting going forward – and that the current memory-hungry environment isn't going away. As we've been hearing recently, if anything, the AI boom is set to continue and gobble up even more RAM in the foreseeable future.

As for the Nvidia GPUs which are being brought back to life, this may be just in Asia for now, but it indicates that this could happen elsewhere, too. There have been previous rumors about the RTX 3060 12GB making a comeback, so here we're seeing some hard evidence that this is actually happening.

Are you wondering why it's happening? Well, both of these GPUs are back to serve as budget-friendly options in a time where current-gen GPU availability is becoming more problematic, and prices are rising. (Indeed, at the higher-end for Nvidia GPUs, price inflation has been getting quite nasty this year, and the fear is that it'll only worsen).

The RTX 3060 was a popular offering for a long time, and the 12GB variant proved tempting for gamers who didn't want to be shortchanged by newer Nvidia budget graphics cards that only served up 8GB of VRAM. While you may question the wisdom of an affordable GPU that packs on the video RAM in this memory-starved climate, remember that this Nvidia card uses GDDR6 VRAM, not GDDR7 as seen in current-gen Blackwell GPUs, so it's a different kettle of fish in that respect. It theoretically allows for some extra breathing room to produce some more wallet-friendly graphics cards without tapping into precious GDDR7 resources.

Of course, we don't know how wide a scope this apparent revitalization of old Ampere GPUs might have, and it could be quite a limited affair. Time will tell.

• Versions 8.61 and 8.62 affected, users urged to take "immediate action"
• Google's Mandiant informed over 100 organizations

Oracle PeopleSoft servers, used by universities, businesses and public sector organizations, are being targeted in a new attack by extortion group ShinyHunters, researchers have revealed.

The attackers claim to have compromised more than 100 organizations, and exfiltrated data from around 300 PeopleSoft instances, by exploiting a vulnerability tracked as CVE-2026-35273.

Victims have reportedly received demands signed by ShinyHunters threatening to release stolen data, unless a ransom is paid, with another researcher adding that it could be "a group impersonating them," implying the group has not yet taken accountability for the attacks.

Oracle PeopleSoft customers vulnerable to attacks and ransom demands

"This vulnerability is remotely exploitable without authentication," Oracle added in a June 10 security advisory. "If successfully exploited, this vulnerability may result in remote code execution."

Separately, researchers from Google's Mandiant they were tracking the "critical remote code execution vulnerability", rated a CVSS 9.8 score, between May 27 and June 9 2026. "Because this activity predates Oracle's June 10, 2026 advisory, the vulnerability was exploited as a zero-day," the researchers added.

Oracle is urging users to take "immediate action" to apply the patch, which fixes versions 8.61 and 8.62.

Besides Oracle's advisory, Google says it alerted over 100 global organizations whose IP addresses correlated with potentially vulnerable endpoints. Two-thirds (68%) of them were higher education institutions, and most of the victims were also based in the US.

Mandiant urges users to check logs for suspicious access between late May and early June, and to apply Oracle's security update regardless of whether or not they've been attacked.

• AI-generated code is growing faster than security oversight mechanisms
• Manual reviews struggle to keep pace with machine-generated software
• Security leaders fear insecure coding patterns spreading through development pipelines

Artificial intelligence coding assistants have spread across development teams faster than security frameworks can adapt to.

New Salt Security research has claimed 90% of security leaders now report active concerns about risks posed by AI-generated software.

However, organizations continue embracing AI tools because they accelerate coding tasks, reduce time spent on repetitive work, and increase software delivery speed.

Human review cannot handle AI speed

Security leaders believe that development practices designed before AI became mainstream may no longer provide sufficient oversight.

Nearly a third (29%) of respondents identified insecure coding patterns as the primary risk introduced by AI assistants.

These systems learn from massive training datasets that contain their own flaws and outdated practices.

An AI tool can generate code that appears fully functional while quietly reproducing vulnerabilities a human might have caught.

This problem resembles how antivirus software must constantly update its definitions because new threats emerge faster than signature databases can grow.

The difference here is that no central authority tracks every insecure pattern an AI might replicate - as despite the widespread anxiety that AI introduces, more than one-third of organisations still depend on manual code reviews before any launch.

Reliance on human checking becomes structurally problematic when AI produces code at volumes no team can inspect thoroughly.

That method worked when developers wrote software at human speed, but it fails when AI accelerates output dramatically.

Reviewer fatigue sets in quickly, teams apply standards inconsistently, and security requirements get interpreted differently across departments.

AI coding assistants are fundamentally changing how software is built, but governance has not kept pace,” said Roey Eliyahu, CEO and co-founder at Salt Security.

“Most organisations recognise the risks, but many are still trying to manage AI-generated code using security processes designed for a pre-AI world.”

This approach does not scale any better than using a single email inbox to handle millions of daily messages without filtering or automation.

Enterprise complexity makes enforcement harder

Larger organisations with more than 500 employees face governance challenges that smaller firms simply do not encounter.

Distributed teams use different tools, follow varied workflows, and apply security standards with inconsistent rigour across regions.

The risk of developer overreliance on AI assistants grows proportionally with team size and delivery pressure.

Security agencies, including government cybersecurity bodies, have previously warned that AI systems expand attack surfaces and complicate accountability structures significantly.

Without better visibility into where AI-generated code enters the pipeline, governance remains guesswork dressed up as process.

Treating AI coding assistants as components of the software supply chain — similar to vetting any third-party malware risk — offers a more realistic path forward than hoping manual review will somehow catch up.

When a suspicious email lands in your inbox promising financial rewards or urgent payment requests, the infrastructure behind that email is rarely what it appears to be.

An investigation by Comparitech revealed a coordinated spam and phishing network spanning 12,704 servers in 55 countries.

These phishing emails are tied to fake financial rewards and similar scams, using tactics designed to evade security tools such as antivirus and ransomware protection systems that many users depend on.

Trusted Google links help the campaign evade detection

The campaign begins with unsolicited emails promoting financial rewards, health products, gambling offers, or urgent payment requests through embedded links.

Rather than directing recipients immediately to attacker-controlled websites, the links first route through Google Cloud Storage pages hosted on Google's infrastructure.

That approach matters because familiar Google domains generally attract less scrutiny from users and automated filtering systems than unknown websites.

Google-owned URLs passed easily through email gateways, firewalls, and reputation filters that routinely extend trust to Google domains without deeper inspection.

Researchers found that attackers uploaded simple HTML and JavaScript files to cloud storage locations, allowing them to redirect visitors elsewhere without placing obviously malicious content on Google's servers.

This separation between the initial link and the final destination also provides operational flexibility for campaign operators.

Redirect destinations can be changed at any time without requiring modifications to emails that have already been distributed to potential victims.

During testing, researchers repeatedly encountered nearly identical landing pages displaying news content copied from The New York Times.

These pages appeared designed to serve as harmless decoys for security products, researchers, and visitors who did not meet specific selection criteria.

The infrastructure supporting these pages shared common software configurations, matching asset directories, similar redirect behaviour, and largely outdated server environments.

The scale is difficult to dismiss

The research identified the network through a single CSS file path — assets/ayt/css/main.css — repeated identically across thousands of servers.

This pattern points to a centralized deployment rather than independent operators - of the 12,704 servers identified, 99.8% ran end-of-life software with no active security updates, spread across 412 hosting providers in dozens of jurisdictions.

That geographic spread was almost certainly deliberate — takedowns targeting one provider leave the rest of the network entirely intact.

Checking 5,000 of those servers against a crowd-sourced IP reputation database revealed that 89% carried no prior abuse history.

This suggests that the infrastructure was either recently provisioned or rotated frequently enough to stay ahead of antivirus and threat intelligence systems.

Anyone who entered personal information on any page reached through one of these emails should treat that data as compromised.

Such users have to change their passwords immediately, especially where the password is reused across multiple services.

Furthermore, it is important to constantly monitor all financial accounts for unusual activities no matter how small they may appear initially.

Clicking a link without entering any information still carried a consequence. That click confirmed to the operators that the email address was live and active.

This means the email is likely to receive increased volumes of spam in the future, raising the risk of exposure to additional phishing attempts and fraudulent schemes.

I love the song Something To Talk About by Badly Drawn Boy so I was humming this to myself as I played today’s Strands. I bet I wasn't the only one.

Meanwhile, I really struggled with today’s game. The first two words I spotted, BODY and POINT, came when I was looking for non-game words and neither helped me push forward, as I couldn't see the connection between them.

It took two hints, HOOK and TOPIC, before I finally got that the theme was about conversing. I am so used to the Strands themes being obtuse that I often miss them when they are obvious.

Memorizing all of the past Wordle answers is nearly impossible – after all, there have now been more than 1,700 of them. And even though Wordle answers do now repeat (see below), it can still be helpful to know what's gone before.

That's partly because the early evidence is that answers are not all that likely to appear twice; we've only had three repeats since Wordle changed its strategy in early February, so new words are still more common than old ones.

But even outside of that, it can be interesting to see what happened in the past. Plus, knowing the kind of words that might appear can help you decide what to play today.

What you need then, is a list of past Wordle answers, and that's what I've made for you here. It's organized by month and you can simply search the page to see whether the word you're thinking of has already been used. It won't be a guarantee that it won't appear again, but it might help.

So pick one of the best Wordle starting words, take a look at today's Wordle answer if you need to and keep this list close when you're playing.
