samsung le32c580

The LE32C580 is an unashamedly mass-market set and is none the worse for that. While 3D and LED sets grab all the headlines, it is relatively unassuming sets such as this that are flying off the shelves in high street retailers.

The manufacturer has packed in a lot of the sort of spec that will undoubtedly appeal to a mass-market audience, with the Freeview HD tuner in particular guaranteed to win plenty of admirers.

We liked:

The picture is lively and delivers plenty of the sort of visual pyrotechnics that make big, loud movies sing. We also approve wholeheartedly of the 1080p panel and Freeview HD tuner and what amounts to a very reasonable price tag.

We disliked:

The usual LCD flaws of motion wobble and a limited black level response are present and the audio, while relatively powerful, is rather coarse.

The Samsung LE32C580 is a solid, well-equipped set with much to commend it. The performance is good, rather than brilliant, which is exactly what you'd expect for this sort of money and should be more than adequate for the sort of everyday use for which this TV has been conceived.
