HTC Rezound

The Rezound runs HTC's Sense 3.5 UI layer atop Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. There's no official build of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Rezound yet, but at press time, leaked builds were all over the internet.

For those familiar with Sense, there's not much new to see here. Up to seven home screens rotate infinitely in either direction, and a quick pinch gives you a birds-eye view of all your home screens, and allows for quick editing and even deleting of unused screens.

There are familiar apps like Footprints, the Watch movie store, and Peep for checking out Twitter. The Frequent tab is handy for quickly opening apps you use frequently, and we also like the Quick Settings tab in the Notifications panel for quickly activating Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, and other toggled settings.

Thanks to the speedy 1.5gHz dual-core processor, the Rezound interface is responsive and quick to navigate.

The 720p screen sports full HD resolution, and indoors, it's bright and offers great viewing angles. When you take the HTC Rezound outside, however, it can be a bit hard to see, even with the brightness cranked all the way up.

The HTC Rezound offers a greater pixel-density than the iPhone, packing 'em in at 342 ppi versus the Retina Display's 326.
