If you're here now, you need to be made aware that all the Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals have dried up, with the event formally ending at midnight on July 12, 2023.

As it's Amazon's own Kindles we're talking about, it shouldn't come as a shock that Amazon Prime Day is probably the best time all year to pick up one of the brand's signature ereaders at a noteworthy discount, and there were some serious savings to be had, which we reference further down this article.

Of course, you can still buy your next Kindle full price, but if you're unsure of which to go for, perhaps check out our rundown of the best Kindles first, and if you'd rather wait for the next most likely window for reductions on Amazon's ereader line, you can look ahead to our Black Friday deals hub, where we give you all the information you'll need ahead of the sales period, which kicks off on November 24 this year.

Amazon Prime Day Kindle Deals: FAQs

When did Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals end?

Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals for 2023 have now ended, with Prime Day this year running across July 11 and July 12. As you'll see below, we've kept record of some of this year's Prime Day deals, so you know what was on offer and what further Kindle discounts could crop up from Amazon later this year (i.e. Black Friday) and with next year's products, the time Prime Day rolls back around in 2024.

Do you need Amazon Prime for these deals?

Yes, you will need to be an active Amazon Prime Day member to get the best deals each Prime Day. Generally speaking, while there are decent deals that don't need membership over Prime Day, Amazon's deals on its own-brand products always need Prime. Thankfully, the retailer offers a free trial throughout the year, which you can use to gain access to every Prime Day deal free of charge.

Amazon Prime: 30-day free trial

Amazon Prime: 30-day free trial
If you've never signed up before you can get a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime to get access to each year's Prime Day deals. You get the same benefits as paid members, including free delivery, and access to other services such as Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Gaming and more. You can cancel at any time during the trial to avoid paying the regular fee, which is $14.99 / £8.99 per month.

Is Amazon Prime Day the best time for Kindle deals?

Amazon Prime Day does tend to be the best time all-year-round for bagging a bargain on Amazon's range of own-brand tech, including its Kindle range of e-readers.

We've generally observed record-low deals or deals that are a match for record-lows over Amazon Prime Day and this year doesn't appear to have been any different. Generally speaking, it's also a time where Amazon offers discounts across the entire range so you should find a decent amount of choice each Prime Day.

Is Kindle Unlimited worth it?

Amazon Kindle Unlimited is a fantastic service that perfectly compliments any Amazon Kindle device. You get unlimited access to a library of over one million books and magazines, plus some free audiobook narration on select titles, courtesy of Audible. It's good value, at just $7.95 / £7.99 a month, and you'll never run out of fantastic content.

That said, Prime members get access to the Prime reading service. It's like a stripped-down version of Kindle Unlimited, and has a few thousand free titles. So if you have Prime, even if you don't want to sign up to Kindle Unlimited, you'll still have plenty of books to read with your Kindle device.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite: was $139.99 now $89.99 at Amazon
For most people, the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is the best ereader to buy, since it packs the same sharp display as the best Kindle devices, with the waterproof reading that we loved in the Kindle Oasis. This Prime Day deal is the best price we've seen on the Amazon Kindle Scribe, dropping it $35 from its all-time low. Even if you don't care about writing, the Kindle Scribe is worth checking out if you just want a much bigger screen to read your Kindle book library.

It marks a real sweet spot in the Kindle lineup our opinion and this 33% reduction on a refurbished model makes it a no-brainer.
