Logitech Yeti 2 two-minute review

It’s been 17 years since Blue launched the original Yeti, and it didn’t take long for it to become fan a favorite in the world of consumer desktop mics. There have been tweaks and touch-ups here and there, but few major changes, even after Logitech bought Blue in 2018. Until now, that is.

I’ve been using the first Yeti for years, so I was intrigued to know how the new model compared. The good news is that while there’s plenty to love about the original Yeti — it became a household name for a reason, after all — the Yeti 2 is even more impressive. It’s one of the best microphones for streaming available right now.

Put the two microphones on a desk together and you’ll see that the Yeti 2 is very slightly more compact, yet it still retains the distinctive Yeti aesthetic. More noticeable when you pick them up is the weight — at 995g (2.19lbs), the Yeti 2 is almost 50% lighter than the 1.4kg (3.09lbs) Yeti.

Another thing that immediately catches your eye is the Yeti 2’s built-in LED display, which sits above a singular dial that can be pushed in like a button. This display is a new addition and, in combination with the dial, essentially replaces the volume, mute, gain and polar pattern controls on the old Yeti.

This lets you change the mic’s settings and monitor its audio levels on the display, all without needing Logitech’s G Hub app. It’s a handy feature if you want to make quick adjustments on the fly, although we found the push-in dial to be a little finicky at times, where pressing it would occasionally not do anything. Still, it’s useful for quick changes if you don’t fancy diving into the G Hub app.

If you do want to do that, though, there are plenty of audio presets to choose from, including those for interviews, singing, speech to text, different instruments, and more. You can make manual adjustments to equalizer levels, enable the gate, compressor and more, and work through input gain settings, then save your settings to the app or one of five on-board profiles. Those profiles can be set to automatically activate when specific games launch, too.

That said, G Hub is probably not the most in-depth experience you’re likely to find. For beginners, though, switching polar patterns and adjusting the built-in noise cancelation is about all you’ll need.

The most important part of any microphone, of course, is its audio quality. And here, the Yeti 2 really delivers. Compared to my long-serving Yeti, the Yeti 2 sounded much crisper and clearer. The Yeti was by no means bad, but the latest model shows strong signs of improvement, no doubt helped by the improvement from 16-bit to 24-bit audio and the addition of software noise cancelation.

Part of that is thanks to the new Auto Tracking polar pattern that detects where your sound is coming from and automatically adjusts the pickup area accordingly, ensuring the input is optimized, wherever you’re sat. You can still set a manual polar pattern if you like, but Auto Tracking is effective enough that it will be the best option for most people.

Another useful aspect of this voice proximity sensor is its impact on gain. Now, the Yeti 2 can automatically decrease or increase the gain as you move closer to or further away from the mic, ensuring your input volume remains level throughout. This feature isn’t perfect — I noticed my voice picked up more echo the as I moved away — but it’s much better than what you got with the first Yeti, where you’d just get quieter as you moved away.

As you’d expect from Blue/Logitech, the Yeti 2’s build quality is top notch. The main body is made of metal and feels rock solid. The included metal stand has a soft padded base to keep it from slipping, while the lugs that hold the mic screwed into the base are rubberized to minimize bumps and shakes while you’re recording. This thing looks beautiful and feels like it’s made to last.

There’s a thread on the bottom for attaching the Yeti 2 to a boom arm, in case you’d rather use it that way instead of upright in its stand. The display can also be flipped 180 degrees, which makes reading it an awful lot easier when it’s mounted this way.

There’s not a lot to dislike about the Yeti 2. The single push-in dial didn’t seem to be the most reliable feature and merging several buttons into one means it takes a little longer to scroll through the settings than dedicated dials would. We’re also disappointed to see the price has increased versus the original Yeti. But that’s all blown away compared to thing you care about most with a microphone — namely, its audio quality — which is as good as it gets in a consumer mic.

In my last column, I described how to control two or more PCs with a single set of input devices using software. While these applications can work over wired Ethernet, they more typically use Wi-Fi and can get tripped up in environments with public Wi-Fi like many offices.

Fortunately, a number of USB-based devices can provide a reliable alternative. Some can also work on devices such as Chromebooks, which prevent installing low-level drivers, and allow you to control a computer before it has gotten past the login screen and the software has loaded. However, a few still require a software installation.

First off, many vendors offer simple keyboard-mouse switches that can instantly switch control among multiple PCs using USB connections. KVM switches can also work; just don’t attach other monitors to the switch if they are connected to other PCs.

The trade-off is that these baseline devices can’t do seamless mouse handoffs across computers. On most switches, you must either press a button on the device itself or a remote. (Some use wired remotes while others use infrared). Some higher-end KVM switches allow assigning a hotkey on a keyboard to switch among PCs being controlled.

Going through a wormhole

As for more specialized hardware, perhaps the company with the broadest range of products for traversing multiple PCs is J5Create, which has trademarked the function as Wormhole in nine products, including two docking stations and two hubs.

But the heart of the lineup are four simple cables with USB-A connectors on each end. They range from the $15 JUC100 to the $80 JUC700 which, like the Stardock’s Multiplicity software, can also press one of the PCs into service as a second display.

Curiously, the lowest-end and highest-end product work only with Windows, but the two middle-tier variants can work with MacOS. Regardless, both computers must be running the software that installs from a volume embedded within the cable. The software supports sharing Clipboard content.

The company’s newest and most novel Wormhole product is the Aero Drop CrossLink, a small USB-A device that comes packaged in a small astronaut figure. Once freed from its plastic space suit, it allows a PC-connected keyboard and mouse to control an iPhone, iPad, or Android device over a Bluetooth connection. Unlike the company’s wired products, though, connections to a Mac or even another PC aren’t supported.

Perfect pairings

The next two products came into the market via Kickstarter campaigns. Asuizo Crossys is a bit like the generic keyboard-mouse switching products, but with a few twists.

First, its cables to connect two computers are permanently attached. Second, like the J5Create products, the device includes software that must be installed on the Mac or PC being connected. The Mac version, though, is a faceless app that requires access to the Mac’s accessibility features.

Finally, the LoopMotion device is the only intelligent switch in the lot that requires no software installation, billing itself as the only “location-aware” KM switch. Simply connect a cable to each of its USB ports (labeled L and R) and start seamlessly controlling one with the keyboard of another.

The device is not without its options, though. Pressing a key combination mounts a drive with an HTML page listing more key combinations for modes optimized for gaming and other tasks as well as one that will keep the PC it’s activated awake.

LoopMotion is one of the few options in the class that works out of the box with Linux. However, Chrome OS is a no-go, leaving mechanical switches as about the only option. Another limitation is that, unlike products that use software, Loopsmart won’t allow integrated laptop touchpads to move the cursor between PCs. However, this isn’t all bad, at least as an option, as it can be helpful to keep the cursor contained for some tasks even when two laptops are bridged.

A controlling interest

If you’re looking for the simplest free option, Microsoft’s Mouse without Borders is still the best choice. Although its initial codes are cumbersome and it is limited to four Windows PCs, the software avoids having to enter IP addresses but still provides some extra useful features such as Clipboard sharing and file transfers. Plus, it comes along for the ride if you're into the PowerToys collection.

Stepping up from there, Synergy and its open-source cousin DeskFlow can also bridge Macs and Linux machines. Meanwhile, Multiplicity has the highest degree of customizability and a unique audio-sharing feature If a network-based solution doesn’t work in your environment.

Synergy and Multiplicity offer enterprise configuration and management support, which is particularly appealing for software that stretches across the network. If that’s not an option in your environment, it’s tough to beat the simplicity of Loopmotion. Go with a solution like Crossys, though, if the application demands Clipboard sharing or you’re bridging laptops and don’t want to attach a separate keyboard or mouse.

Razer Reclusa X Mini 65%: two-minute review

Razer has a long and storied history when it comes to its own mechanical keyboards, but at virtually every opportunity, it has charged a bit of a premium for them. Even the more enthusiast-focused ones, such as the BlackWidow V4 75%, have tended to transplant the brand's gaming look onto a hot-swappable, sound-dampened board with a premium price to match. The Reclusa X Mini 65% takes a different approach. At $49.99/£59.99/AU$99.95, it's aimed squarely at the budget end of the market, and at people who might be buying their first mechanical keyboard, which is a good market to go after.

The problem a first-time buyer has is simply the breadth of choice on offer, and it can be very daunting to pick a keyboard, even if I think it's simpler than the internet wants you to think. Likewise, a lot of the choices on offer tend to skimp on certain things, or they aren't offering a complete package – Razer has hit the nail on the head when it comes to the fundamentals of a good affordable mechanical keyboard.

For instance, the plastic chassis is compact but has a surprising amount of heft, and I couldn't find any real deck flex. For the money, that's a pleasant surprise. Moreover, the third-gen Orange tactile switches are the best Razer has made in a while, with a pleasant feel under finger that kept me using this keyboard long after the review period was up, and the mint green colorway is a departure from the brand's usually quite aggressive, gamer-centric styling.

It's only really the little things that let it down. I'll continue to bemoan the presence of ABS keycaps, even on a more affordable keyboard, and the lack of any form of adjustable feet on the underside feels like an oversight. The absence of any wireless connectivity may not please some, but I don't necessarily see it as a big issue given the price.

Even so, the Reclusa X Mini 65% is a very easy keyboard to like. It's sturdy, smooth to type on, and looks the part, and it has room to grow if you want to experiment with different switches, being hot-swappable and all. It's a fantastic first mechanical keyboard for a lot of folks, and all the more fun being from a brand I might not have expected to get it so right.

Razer Reclusa X Mini 65% review: Design

As much as the Reclusa X Mini 65% isn't an expensive keyboard, it doesn't exactly feel like a bargain-bin product, either. Far too often, cheaper keyboards from brands up and down the reputational ladder are plastic fantastic, with corners that flex and a chassis that feels like it'll give up as soon as you put your fingers down to type.

Not so with this product. The plastic chassis may be compact, but it has a surprising amount of heft and no real deck flex, which I'm delighted about. I first got hands-on with this product at Gamescom 2026, and the first thing I did was pick it up, try to flex the chassis, and was met with resistance from the keyboard's frame, which genuinely surprised me. That doesn't happen too often these days.

The style Razer has opted for with this keyboard is also unlike any of its previous efforts. The brand's other keyboards, even the more enthusiast-focused ones such as the BlackWidow V4 75%, simply transplanted the signature look of its gaming products and supplemented it with hot-swappable switches, sound dampening, and so on. The Reclusa X Mini 65% actually looks a little more like a product that someone getting into mechanical keyboards might want to purchase.

I'm a particular fan of the keycap styling and color options with the mint green accents for Esc, Return, the Space Bar, and arrow keys, plus white for other function keys. The main alphanumerics are black with the same green hue for the legends. Being doubleshot is nice for durability, too, although I will continue to nag Razer about its use of the shiny ABS plastics. Even at the more affordable end of the market, we're seeing the more durable (and much more shine-resistant) PBT used more often, so it would have been nice to see it here.

The 65% layout is largely okay to use day-to-day, and provides you with some of the functionality of bigger footprint keyboards, such as a single column nav cluster and arrow keys in the corner. Other functions, such as the F-row, media playback and controlling the keyboard's RGB backlighting, are relegated to a function layer. I'd prefer a bigger layout, but 65% is the absolute smallest I can get away with using day-to-day without feeling hemmed in.

The interface around the back is nice and simple, with just a USB-C port for hooking the keyboard up to a PC or Mac. After all, it is just wired, with no other connectivity options available – for the price, it's perfectly fine.

I do have another bone to pick, though. The underside has no adjustable feet. While the default rake of the Reclusa X Mini 65% is comfortable enough for me, it's a shame that you can't tilt it any further up.

Razer Reclusa X Mini 65% review: Performance

One of my bigger keyboard-related axes to grind has often been Razer's own switches. The older Green and Yellow switches never did anything for me compared to other options out there, and the third-gen Orange soft tactiles that's been fitted to my sample of the Reclusa X Mini 65% have been Razer's pick of the bunch for some time.

These are 50g switches, providing a slightly heavier press than your typical crop of linears, with a little more weight under finger than I usually like. There's a decent tactile bump halfway down the keypress to boot. For typing an array of articles with this keyboard, this review included, it's been nothing if not agreeable.

The switches also come pre-lubricated, meaning they’ve had a small dab of lubricant on the stem, switch housing, and elsewhere inside for a smoother keystroke. The idea of lubricating switches has become more tied to the modern mechanical keyboard hobby in the main, and it works to the Oranges’ advantage by offering a smooth keystroke that’s nicely interrupted by the soft tactile bump halfway down the keystroke.

If these switches aren't your jam, though, then the Reclusa X Mini 65% is hot-swappable and compatible with your usual MX-style three- or five-pin switches, and it works the way you'd expect, with no soldering or funny business required. That said, I couldn't spot a keycap or switch puller in the box, so you'll need to supply your own if you want to swap them out. Doing so is easy enough, though, so you can change switches in a matter of minutes, potentially changing the feel of the keyboard completely. For instance, I had some Cherry MX Northern Lights knocking around, which are a lighter and much quieter linear switch, which changed the feel of the 'board completely.

Regarding noise, this Razer keyboard isn't the quietest, and when you get up to speed, it can be quite loud. That said, there is internal dampening to help reduce any case rattle and ping, and the acoustics on offer here are largely pleasant, with a crisp and quite bright sound when you get into the groove.

Software duties are handled by Razer's Synapse 4 suite, which is a major improvement on the older and clunkier forms of Synapse that came before it. As expected for a keyboard that isn't packed to the rafters with HE or TMR or whatever else, the customisation here is largely limited to key remapping on two layers, plus enabling the brand's Snap Tap feature for unusually brisk side-to-side movement in the likes of CS:2 and configuring the keyboard's RGB lighting.

The Reclusa X Mini 65%'s solid keycaps mean the Chroma lighting this keyboard has is more of an underglow than a full-blown Pink Floyd gig, although it's still plenty bright enough and works well with the aesthetic of the keyboard.

Razer launched the Reclusa X Mini 65% in September 2026. At $49.99 / £59.99 / AU$99.95, it's easily one of the most affordable keyboards the brand has ever released, let alone an enthusiast-focused one.

That price puts it firmly in entry-level territory. It's much cheaper than the Razer BlackWidow V4 75%, which sits in the more enthusiast-focused part of Razer's range, and it takes on the likes of the MechLands Vibe99, another budget board that trades a premium finish for strong value. It also sits alongside Gamakay's TK75 V2, which proved you don't need to spend big to get a satisfying typing feel.

What sets the Reclusa X Mini 65% apart from a lot of these more affordable mechanical boards is how much it gets right for the money. The solid chassis, hot-swappable switches and doubleshot keycaps are rarely found together at this price, and when they are found together, it can usually mean a compromise on feel, one way or another. The compromises are a wired-only connection, 1,000Hz polling and shiny ABS keycaps, but for most buyers on a budget they're easy to forgive.

I tested the Reclusa X Mini 65% for around two weeks, using it as my main keyboard for work and play during this time with both Windows and macOS.

I used it for typing up thousands of words a day with my PC and hooked it up to my MacBook Pro over Bluetooth as my primary keyboard for work, too, to judge its performance. I also used the Razer Synapse 4 software on Windows to remap keys, program the macros and see what else it had to offer.

I've been a tech journalist for the best part of a decade, and have reviewed plenty of keyboards in that time from brands big and small. I'm also a mechanical keyboard enthusiast, so I have a keen eye for peripherals and have been involved with the hobby before it hit the mainstream.

SteelSeries Sensei Pro review

While many wireless gaming mice are content with wired play-and-charge, the Sensei Pro takes a different tact with a battery management concept that, while not entirely new, may steer the sector in a new direction given its implementation by an esteemed brand such as SteelSeries.

In terms of looks, though, the Sensei Pro hardly departs from your typical symmetrical mouse. Its design is largely functional, with a small logo and orange scroll wheel being the only concessions to style. There are no odd angles or shapes here, or even any RGB lighting.

The standard model is quite large, and the prominent central hump might feel uncomfortable to certain hands. It took me a little while to adjust to it, but once I did I found it quite comfortable, helped by the super smooth finish of the shell. Those wanting more texture can attach the included grip tape to the sidewalls, mouse buttons, and even the back buttons.

Despite its bulky shape, the Sensei Pro is actually very light, weighing just 53g, yet feels perfectly solid and sturdy. This attention to build quality extends to the buttons, which all operate smoothly and provide satisfying feedback. My one gripe is with the DPI button: it’s placed underneath, a location I usually find impractical when playing games requiring frequent menu access and the like. Not only is it underneath, it’s to the right, which means right-handers won’t be able to reach it easily with their fingers.

You can customize the inputs of the Sensei Pro using SteelSeries’ GG software. Here you’ll find a remapping facility with plenty of options, including a healthy selection of media and system shortcuts. You can also adjust the DPI from 1K to 65K, with five customizable presets to cycle through. Not only that, but you can also adjust the DPI for the X and Y axes independently, which isn’t something I’ve often seen.

Then there are some features I’ve never seen before. These include click response adjustments between 0ms and 20ms, mouse movement acceleration tuning using preset graph curves, and sensor tilt adjustments by 45 degrees in either direction, in order to accommodate the natural angle of your hand movements. And while I’ve seen angle snapping modes in numerous other gaming mice software, I haven’t seen one with 10 levels of ‘straightening’ as there is here. Nor have I seen a scroll jump protection feature with as large a threshold range to play with (100ms to 1500ms). Other adjustments include independent lift-off and landing distance adjustments, as well as a motion sync toggle.

Again unlike many gaming mice, you can set the Ultra-wideband (UWB) polling and sensor rates separately, each with a range of 125Hz to 8KHz (with 9KHz overpolling). The explanation provided for these settings is clear and detailed, although it’s a shame 9K overpolling isn’t explained. In fact, the explanations for most features in GG are welcome, and go beyond what peripheral software usually provide. It also very handily tells you if you have Windows’ enhanced pointer precision setting enabled, and offers to disable it for you to improve performance. The overall layout of GG is clear and easy to navigate as well, although I found it slightly annoying that the actual adjustments section opens in second windows, introducing unnecessary desktop clutter.

When gaming, the Sensei Pro is a competent mouse. It glides with supreme smoothness, thanks to its large skates, while the mouse buttons are well lubed and very tactile. They have a deeper travel than many others, though, and might be a bit too heavy for those after seriously rapid spamming.

The side buttons and middle click are fantastically clicky, and are some of the best I’ve used. The former have a pleasingly deep travel, which only makes them more satisfying, while the latter feels like a proper button without the awkwardness that can often blight other examples. What’s more, I didn’t perform any accidental flicks when pressing it, even with Scroll Jump Protection disabled. The notching is perfectly weighted, too, allowing for both controlled single flicks and quick multiple swipes when needed.

Not being a pro gamer myself, I can’t honestly say I noticed any difference in polling and sensor rates above 1K, and certainly couldn’t discern the advantage of 9K overpolling. What I can tell you is that enabling the maximum rates, as well as the maximum sensor performance, drains battery life very quickly; you’ll get about a day’s worth at best. Dial back the polling to 1K, though, and you'll get much closer to SteelSeries' claimed top-end longevity figure of 120 hours.

But this is where the Sensei Pro’s USP comes into play — something SteelSeries calls the Infinite Power System. Rather than using a USB cable to play and charge at the same time, you cycle between two batteries: the one in your mouse and the other that charges on top of the UWB station. There’s no need to ever go wired — in fact, you can’t, since there’s no USB-C port on the Sensei Pro. The batteries themselves are quite easy to remove and insert, with a dot to indicate the correct alignment of the pins underneath, and requiring a simple twist to lock into place underneath the mouse. I didn’t experience any issues with the battery coming loose at any point.

So if you don't want to resort to wired play when you run flat, the Sensei Pro fits the bill perfectly. It’ll also cater to those fanatical about polling rates and deep tweaking. It’s a shame there’s no additional Bluetooth mode (especially at this price), and the relatively heavy clicks aren’t for everyone, but in other respects the Sensei Pro is sublime in action — you’ll just have to part with a large amount of cash for the privilege.

This is very expensive for a wireless gaming mouse. It’s marginally less expensive than the Razer Naga V3 Pro, but the Naga has additional Bluetooth support, as well as a plethora of customizable buttons on the side. And if you want the same ‘infinite’ battery life, it’s compatible with the Razer’s HyperFlux V2 Wireless Charging System (read: a power-supplying mouse pad), although this is a costly optional extra on top of what is already a costly pointer.

If you fancy another mouse with a swappable battery system, the AngryMiao AM Infinity.97 is a viable alternative. This is slightly less expensive than the Sensei Pro, and is even lighter than the Sensei Pro (and much lighter than the Naga), tipping the scales at just 47g. Its looks might not be to every gamer’s tastes, though, and we weren’t particularly impressed with its basic software.

I tested the SteelSeries Sensei Pro for several days, during which time I used it not just for gaming, but also for working and general browsing.

I played games such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and Counter-Strike 2, the latter of which is a stern test for peripherals given the demands it places on quick and accurate movements and clicks.

I’ve been PC gaming for a long time, and have used and reviewed a large variety of gaming mice in that time, from modest budget offerings to expensive feature-packed, pro-level pointers.

Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid review: Two-minute review

Let’s get one thing out of the way: the Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid commands a premium price tag. At $229.99 / £209.99 / AU$399.95, it sits near the top of the gaming keyboard market — costing more than similarly high-end alternatives like the Razer Huntsman V3 HE or Corsair K70 Max. It’s currently the most expensive gaming keyboard that Logitech sells, reflecting its positioning as the very best of the best.

What does that price get you, though? The big draw here is the custom KS-20 POM switches. They’re manufactured by Gateron, one of the most popular keyboard switch brands, with contactless Hall effect operation. They feature a customizable actuation point, allowing you to select actuation depth all the way from 4mm to a very shallow 0.1mm in 0.05mm increments.

Raising the actuation point reduces the time taken for each keystroke to be registered, facilitating lightning-fast responses in intense competitive titles like Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant. You can customize the actuation point on a per-button basis as well, meaning you can make your movement inputs as sensitive as possible while leaving the button to switch weapons, for example, a more deliberate press to prevent misclicks in key moments.

This works in tandem with the rapid trigger setting, which sets the point at which a key needs to be lifted in order to reset. You can practically remove the delay between rapid inputs, meaning much more responsive movement. Getting used to the snappy responses certainly took some adjustment in my testing, but I found strafing felt much more precise, and this could make a big difference in a competitive setting where speed can make the difference between a win and defeat.

You can also set up key priority, which determines how the keyboard interprets almost simultaneous inputs via metrics like key travel or a chosen override. This sounds great on paper, as it should allow for much easier counter-strafing or ‘jiggle peeking’ (emerging from cover for a split second to try and bait an opponent into taking a shot), but there’s a big catch. This feature is banned in some competitive titles (including Counter-Strike 2) and will result in automated server kicks, so it should be treated with some degree of caution.

The built-in OLED display is also a pretty cool addition, though honestly, it’s not as useful as I first assumed it would be. It’s a small vertical display positioned on the far right-hand side of the keyboard above a small button and a little scroll wheel. By default, the wheel controls your system volume, but a quick tap of the button opens a menu with access to activation point adjustment, rapid trigger, mkey priority, RGB lighting, and game mode settings.

Adjusting them like this is very fiddly and much more easily accomplished right in the compatible Logitech G Hub software. With G Hub, you can save settings directly onto the keyboard’s memory, and I suspect that most pro players would rather create their settings in advance with the software rather than try and adjust them on the fly in the middle of a game.

The spec sheet is also impressive, with highlights like an optional 8,000Hz report rate. The keyboard also has a physical game mode switch, designed almost like a light switch. Flick this on to enable your game mode preset, which disables the two Windows keys by default to prevent accidental tab changes.

The physical design of the Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid exudes quality too, with the compact TKL form factor making it easy to incorporate into your setup. All three colorways (Black, White, and Magenta) look excellent, and key presses feel suitably satisfying with a very smooth motion and lovely sound. It feels great to type on as a result, but I am still disappointed that the exterior of the keyboard is entirely plastic when most gaming keyboards above a hundred bucks incorporate more durable metal faceplates instead.

I also don’t understand why Logitech G didn’t opt to go for a nice braided USB Type-C cable rather than a rubbery plastic one at this price. Maybe there’s some reason for pro players to prefer plastic, but if that’s the case, the brand could surely just throw in two alternate cable options given the $229.99 / £209.99 / AU$399.95 price tag.

There’s also the matter of the included wrist rest, which I unfortunately don’t think is particularly good. It’s basically just a huge rectangular hunk of cold, rubbery plastic that you have to flop awkwardly onto your desk. It’s not well padded, and I quickly relegated it to confinement back in the box. It’s presumably a very cheap extra to include, but I’m not too happy with the prospect of having to store it.

Still, it’s not offensively bad value by any means, as you are paying specifically for the high-end spec sheet, built-in screen, custom switches, and suite of esports features. You also get a wrist rest in the box and, while I’m not a huge fan, it might be useful for some.

I tested the Logitech G Pro X2 Rapid for multiple weeks alongside the Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike mouse, with my hands on both before and after the official reveal and release.

I used it for gaming sessions and productivity tasks throughout my days. This included plenty of time in popular esports titles such as Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. I also played a range of other games, including the likes of Gears of War: E-Day, Cities: Skylines 2, and Far Cry 6.

Throughout my time with the keyboard, I compared it to my hands-on testing of other gaming keyboards across the price spectrum.

• LG's FLiPP tech could deliver Tandem OLED performance for much less

If you're a fan of OLED, there's an exciting new acronym you need to know: FLiPP. It stands for FMM-Less innovative Pixel Patterning, and the FMM bit refers to fine metal masks. Those are normally used in OLED manufacturing to precisely place the organic emissive materials.

With FLiPP, there's no mask. Instead, the materials are deposited across the glass, given a protective layer and then refined using photolithography and etching to get rid of the unwanted sections.

The biggest single advantage to FLiPP is efficiency. According to trade site The Elec, LG Display found that the tech increased the utilization rate – the efficiency of the production – from 75% in a conventional FMM process to over 93% in a FLiPP process.

That's good news for us, because more efficient production means lower production costs. And that ultimately means we could see much better OLEDs without higher prices.

FLiPP also improved utilization of the organic emissive materials from 40% to 74%, boosted the pixel aperture ratio (how much of the pixel area emits light) to 65%, and enabled the light-emitting area to boost luminance by 1.6x, longevity by 2.4x or reduce power consumption by 13%.

So that means these OLED screens can brighter, or they can be more reliable, or they can use less power, depending on the preference of the device. But in the near future, those devices will almost certainly be laptops and monitors, and not TVs — sadly for those desperate for the price of the best OLED TVs to drop.

What the FLiPP?

LG Display's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Choi Young-seok says that the technology is still in the first development stage. The next stage would be developing actual products, and the third stage is mass production.

That third stage will initially concentrate on the monitor market where displays are smaller — the improved efficiency figures mentioned above were for 23.5-inch panels — but laptops are apparently on the cards as well. LG Display has said it expects to reach this point by late 2027 — so the first products might appear at CES 2028.

According to Cho Heung-ryeol, who is the head of the Next-Generation Display Division, LG Display is currently evaluating its existing LCD and WOLED production lines to see if they can be reused without major modifications, or if new plant would need to be purchased. The former option is of course the preferred one. Either way, LG Display still plans for production to start in around a year.

Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike review: Two-minute review

The Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike isn’t the gaming mouse revolution that its predecessor was. The X2 Superstrike wowed in our review when it launched earlier this year, earning a rare five-star score, with most of the praise centered around its incredibly HITS (haptic inductive trigger system) switches.

These allow the user to fully customize the actuation point of the two main mouse buttons in the Logitech G Hub companion software, so you can tweak them specifically for the game that you’re playing. Hair trigger actuation cuts down click latency in competitive first-person shooters like Counter-Strike 2, potentially giving you a split-second advantage, while going for deeper, more deliberate clicks might be preferable for productivity work or slower strategy titles.

You can also choose the level of haptic feedback provided with each input, ranging from very little (or even nothing) to robust, strong clicks. Built on much the same principles as popular Hall effect switches, the sensors are extremely durable too, which is a massive plus.

Though they now lack that initial novelty, the HITS switches remain superb in the Logitech G Pro X3 Superstrike. Other things we appreciated, like the comfortable right-handed shape, two customizable side buttons, and understated aesthetic, remain just as good this time around as well — as very little has been changed on the surface beyond the introduction of two new colorways: a sleek Midnight Black and a bright Magenta Eclipse (a cool pink and black).

Internally, things are different. Logitech G has redesigned the weight distribution to make the mouse less top-heavy. It’s weighs very slightly less at 59g, so very comfortable and light, and is now more balanced overall, which makes it slide even more smoothly in your hand. It’s also powered by a new chipset, the NxLOGI, designed for increased power efficiency.

Logitech G claims that it has taken the battery life all the way to 135 hours per charge, up by 45 hours compared to the previous model. Although it didn’t quite hit that lofty target in my testing, it still comfortably lasts a full week of daily use even with power-hungry features like click haptics cranked up.

The Logitech Pro X3 Superstrike has an upgraded Hero 2 sensor, too, raising the sensitivity from the X2’s 44,000 DPI (dots per inch) to 48,000 DPI and tracking speed from 888 IPS (inches per second) to 930 IPS. You can now access the 8,000Hz polling rate when using the mouse in a wired capacity too – the feature was previously locked to just wireless mode.

I’m not exactly an esports pro, but throughout my testing I found the mouse to be incredibly responsive and accurate, undoubtedly helping my performance as I sunk hour after hour into Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

I do wish Logitech G had packed even more upgrades to really justify the X3 name, but all contribute to a successor that is a clear upgrade compared to what came before. You do unfortunately have to pay a little more this time around, though, as you will see below.

Bizarrely, the price is the same as the old model in Australia, making the X3 the clear choice out of the two in that region.

AOC has announced a new gaming monitor which runs at a native 1,000Hz refresh rate.

TechPowerUp posted the press release for the Agon Pro AGP257FT, which is a 24.5-inch Full HD IPS monitor offering a response time of 0.3ms (grey-to-grey) and DisplayHDR 400 support.

As mentioned, it runs natively at 1,000Hz, meaning you get that refresh rate out of the box (and there's no dual mode here, where a monitor has two refresh rate settings with different resolutions, dropping the latter to achieve the faster rate).

You get 1,000Hz at 1920 x 1080 resolution, with an overclock option to push the refresh rate slightly further to 1,050Hz.

The AGP257FT is an oxide-based 'Fast IPS' panel that has 20-zone local dimming and 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut (and 99% coverage for sRGB), with a brightness of 450 nits.

The monitor supports Nvidia G-Sync and has an adjustable stand (allowing for 150mm of range in height) with tilt, swivel and pivot (complete with markings to keep a favored position).

You get two HDMI 2.1 ports along with a DisplayPort 2.1 connector and a headphone output, plus a USB hub (sporting a trio of USB-A ports). There's a headset hook here, too.

The Agon Pro AGP257FT monitor is set to arrive in Q1 2027, with pricing still to be confirmed.

Analysis: rating the rate

Don't expect this to be a cheap monitor. With the 1,000Hz refresh rate, this is aimed at professional esports gamers, so it'll exact quite the toll on your wallet. Especially given that even monitors aren't immune to the price hikes we've seen across all sorts of tech thanks to the pressures of the RAM crisis and global geopolitical climate (affecting shipping).

Of course, do you really need a 1,000Hz screen even if you are a competitive gamer? Perhaps it's justifiable from some viewpoints, but unless money really is no object with your gaming setup, it's going to be major overkill for most people.

For starters, you're not going to get 1,000 frames per second (to match that 1,000Hz refresh rate) even on esports shooters with a top-end PC – remembering that it's not just a matter of reaching or peaking at that level, but sustaining it (on average).

Okay, so it is also true that there are still benefits in terms of a smoother image with less motion blur, and less input lag, when running at 1,000Hz, even if your frames per second aren't up at that level – so this tech isn't wasted in this scenario.

Still, whether the price of these kinds of screens is worth it is, shall we say, highly debatable. Besides which, in the case of this AOC monitor gamers will argue that IPS isn't the best choice if you want motion clarity anyway, and that you'd be better off looking at, say, a 720Hz OLED (which is still a blazingly fast refresh rate).

The vast majority of gamers will be better off focusing their expenditure on the PC itself, though – and there's certainly a need for the extra money given the RAM crisis – rather than pushing out the boat for a monitor which probably only offers minor advantages in the end (unless you're actually a pro gamer).

Logitech G316 X 98: One-minute review

The G316 X is Logitech’s new gaming keyboard, featuring mechanical switches and an integrated display for good measure.

In typical Logitech fashion the G316 X sports a minimalist appearance, available in monotone colorways (black or white), and free of unnecessary details or angles. The vibrant RGB backlighting is a nice touch, though, as is the thin LED strip at the top.

These smart looks are complimented by exceptional build quality. The chassis is solid yet light, while the PBT keycaps feel great thanks to their subtle texturing and sturdy fit, putting the G316 X's construction up there with the best gaming keyboards.

Also worth highlighting are the adjustable feet. Rather than plastic flaps that fold out, the G316 X enlists soft rubber blocks that you remove and turn over when you want to adjust the tilt angle from four to eight degrees. The integrated screen, however, is a letdown. It may look good, but it's small and displays no real information.

Thankfully, G HUB — the software used for customizing the G316 X — is more useful. There are numerous assignments available, including the ability to map up to five inputs to a single key. There are also three different mapping layers for you to play around with.

Thanks to its stock tactile switches, I enjoyed gaming with the G316 X. Their solid, thocky response imparts plenty of feedback, yet they're still snappy enough to feel quick. They’re damped enough to remove harshness from impact, but they’re not the quietest switches around.

In addition to gaming, I also found the G316 X great for typing. My one small complaint is that the feet don’t tilt the board quite enough for my liking. Nevertheless, I still found it sufficiently comfortable to use without a wrist-rest — not something I can say about every gaming keyboard.

The G316 X isn’t the most affordable mechanical keyboard around, but it's cheaper than some of its key rivals. It’s a shame its screen is merely a gimmick and it lacks wireless connectivity, but the G316 X is still a strong choice for those after a solid-feeling experience.

The G316 X costs $119.99 / £109.99 / AU$199.95 and is available now. It comes preinstalled with tactile switches, although these are hot-swappable. There are two colorways to choose from: black or white.

It's quite expensive for a wired mechanical keyboard, although cheaper than those from other premium brands. For instance, it comes in lower than the HyperX Origins 2 1800, and a lot less than the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% — the latter is one of the best-made and best-performing examples in the sector, though.

In today’s marketplace, however, there are more budget-friendly gaming keyboards available. The MonsGeek FUN60 Ultra, for example, offers multiple wireless connectivity options, but also analog switches that feel great and offer plenty of tweakability.

Logitech G316 X 98 review: Design and features

• Minimalist looks with bright RGB
• Premium-feeling materials and build
• Practical adjustable feet

The G316 X has a retro-modern look, sporting an ultra-square form and minimalist design. There aren’t any odd angles or contours that sometimes blight gaming peripherals; the only flourishes here are a translucent green Escape key and volume wheel, and an LED strip between the number and F rows.

These are actually quite attractive, as is the bright customizable RGB backlighting against the white option of the keyboard, in particular.

Although the G316 X is made of plastic, it’s one of the best around. It’s solid yet light — the ideal combination. The PBT keycaps help lend the board a premium feel, featuring a subtle texture that makes them satisfying to touch.

Like many gaming keyboards, the G316 X comes with adjustable feet, but they’re not of your typical fold-out type. Instead, they’re rubber blocks that you have to remove and flip over to switch the tilt angle from four to eight degrees.

This may appear a less elegant solution at first, but it’s actually rather clever. The static design provides greater stability, so there’s no danger of the blocks closing in when moving the board around. Also, their large surface area and rubber material delivers a better grip.

Ironically, it’s the integrated LED screen that turns out to be the least sophisticated aspect of the G316 X. It may look sharp, but it’s seriously lacking in functionality, merely displaying a few basic animations when adjusting the volume or or playing back media — none of which are helpful.

The 98% layout is compact yet practical, even including a dedicated number pad, although there are a few navigation keys absent that I would’ve liked to see remain. There aren’t many default Fn shortcuts labelled on the keys, either.

Thankfully, you can make your own shortcuts using Logitech’s G HUB peripheral software. There are plenty of assignments available here, and three different layers in which to arrange them. There’s even the ability to assign up to five inputs to a single key.

You can also customize the Game Mode button next to the aforementioned screen in order for it to disable more keys beyond the Windows key. However, you won’t find many performance-based settings to play with, beyond the ability to adjust the polling rate, which has a maximum value of 8KHz.

Logitech G316 X 98 review: Performance

• Excellent feedback from tactile switches

• Tilt angle is limited

The standout aspect of the G316 X is its stock tactile switches. I found they provided plenty of feedback, actuating with a solid and noticeable thock, yet they still able to rebound quickly, making them feel snappy. There’s just enough dampening to prevent presses feeling harsh, but relative to many other gaming keyboards, it’s minimal. This means the G316 X can be quite loud when you’re hammering away.

I found the board comfortable when gaming with the WASD keys. This is thanks to the adjustable feet, which make up for the lack of wrist support and reasonably thick base. However, I wish they tilted the layout a little further for optimum comfort: I often hit the back edge of the spacebar, although its curved design made this less of an issue than it might have been been otherwise. It also seems like it’s damped to a greater degree than the other keys, which makes it all the more gratifying to press.

The spacing between the keycaps is ideal: they’re not so close that you’ll hit the wrong key, nor so far apart that reaching them is a stretch. I also found them surprisingly easy to type on, despite their relative tallness. Not only does the aforementioned tilt angle mitigate their height, but their prominent indentations guide your fingers to the correct key, helping to prevent typos.

Corsair Harpoon V2 Wireless review: Two-minute review

The Corsair Harpoon V2 Wireless is (as the name suggests) the second iteration of Corsair's Harpoon RGB Wireless, sporting a redesigned casing and improved internal components.

Back when we reviewed the Harpoon RGB Wireless in 2019, we gave it a well-deserved four and a half stars, citing its excellent value for money, solid ergonomics, and good battery life. If I cast my gaze back seven years to the heady days of the pre-COVID era, I do remember wireless gaming mice being more of a luxury item, and the Harpoon brought this functionality to a wider audience thanks to its extremely competitive pricing.

But times have changed, and it's now far easier to get your hands on a wireless gaming mouse from a household-name PC hardware brand without breaking the bank. Mice like the MSI Versa 300 Wireless 8K, Cooler Master MM311, and Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless have made the market a lot more competitive than it was in 2019, so does the Harpoon V2 Wireless earn its place among the best gaming mice?

For the most part, I'm pleased to say that yes, it certainly does. Considering the price point, this is an exceptionally well-constructed mouse that offers great gaming performance and a decent (though admittedly not expansive) feature set. I do have one particular issue with the Harpoon V2 Wireless, which you've probably already deduced from the headline of this article, but it's far from a dealbreaker.

Let's address that issue right away, then. It's small. Not tiny – I've personally reviewed more ridiculously compact mice than this – but definitely on the smaller side for a gaming mouse. Compared to the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike and NZXT Lift Elite that I use regularly at home, it's almost a full centimeter shorter in the body.

This isn't inherently a massive problem, as the ergonomic design of the Harpoon V2 Wireless makes it easy to grip and move around. But as a palm gripper, I found that my fingers rested too far forward in the most comfortable position, prompting me to adopt more of a claw-type grip, which proved a bit uncomfortable in longer sessions. The thumb buttons are also a bit further forward than I would expect; most mice with two thumb buttons will keep the split between them lined up with the back edge of the main mouse button, but they're closer to the front here, which made pressing the back one feel a bit less intuitive than I'd like.

Now, I'm a big guy. I'm 6'4", and the meat paddles I call hands are obviously going to be bigger than what the vast majority of PC gamers are using to manipulate their peripherals. With that in mind, I'm not going to knock Corsair down too hard here – because outside of this personal gripe, the Harpoon V2 Wireless is a generally great gaming mouse. But it bears mentioning, so if you're a similarly club-fisted PC gamer, this won't be the right mouse for you.

Now, let's get to the good stuff. The Corsair Harpoon V2 Wireless has a sleek matte plastic body with two translucent main buttons. Despite its small size, it nonetheless offers a sensible amount of weight with very balanced distribution, preventing any uneven handling for users who regularly lift the mouse clear of the pad. Each side has a textured triradiate patterning that greatly helps with grip, though I do worry that it might easily become dirty with extended use. The shape is asymmetrical, with no left-handed version available – sorry, southpaws.

In terms of buttons, you get the two main pointer buttons, two thumb buttons, a textured rubber scroll wheel with regular click input (no tilt inputs), and an additional button behind the wheel that is set to switch between DPI profiles by default. All of these are remappable using the downloadable Corsair iCue software, but even better, you can achieve whatever hardware tweaking you desire (including adjusting DPI presets, RGB lighting, and custom button macros) via the Corsair Web Hub without needing to install any additional software.

If you'll allow me a moment to go on a brief tangent, I'd like to wax lyrical about the Web Hub for a paragraph. Corsair isn't the only PC hardware manufacturer to have recently embraced the notion of browser-based equipment tweaking, but it's certainly on the cutting edge. Keychron and Royal Kludge offer similar web-app tools, but they're limited to keyboard tweaking only. Corsair's Web Hub offers a broad range of customization options with zero downloads required, and I love it for that.

Anyway: back to the Harpoon V2 Wireless. The outer casing feels pleasingly durable, with a good, firm click to the two main buttons, which are rated for 100 million clicks. The thumb buttons are a little spongy, but not to a concerning degree; it's rare to see a gaming mouse with genuinely sturdy thumb buttons, to be honest.

The scroll wheel also has a good, robust click, and a satisfyingly smooth rotation that doesn't feel too smooth; I could still get a feel for the individual increments if I slowed down, but scrolling up and down web pages or text documents was nice and swift.

The underside of the mouse also houses the sensor, which is Corsair's own Marksman model and supports up to 26,000 DPI. Yes, sensitivity limits in gaming mice are getting a bit silly these days, but I'm sure there's an esports pro out there somewhere who can actually tell the difference between a 22K and a 26K mouse. I found the sensor to be excellently responsive and accurate during my testing, playing a number of games including Marathon, Warframe, Marvel Rivals, and Valorant.

Battery life is also excellent. Corsair advertises up to 140 hours of use, and while that probably means disabling some extra features like the RGB lighting, I didn't need to charge the Harpoon V2 Wireless even once during the week I spent testing it. As far as battery longevity goes, you won't need to be charging it often, which is great.

It charges via a high-quality braided USB-C to USB-A cable that comes in the box, and naturally you can use it in this wired configuration if that's what takes your fancy. Wireless connection offers two modes: Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz connection via a USB dongle. This sort of dual-mode wireless connectivity is pretty common in gaming mice these days, since the 2.4GHz connection offers lower latency than Bluetooth.

On the topic of that USB dongle: it's concealed in a slot on the underside of the mouse when not in use, which is accessed by completely removing one of the two PTFE skates. I did find that having the skate be removable like this (as opposed to a separate slot for the dongle between the skates, which is commonly seen on other wireless mice) meant that it was a bit more susceptible to debris like dust and fibers getting stuck under the edges. I do have a dog who is a notorious shedder, so users without pets might not find they experience this problem, but it was irritating to repeatedly need to remove hairs and dust from the skate.

Still, that's genuinely a very minor criticism. The Corsair Harpoon V2 Wireless is an excellent choice of gaming mouse for the majority of users, delivering great performance and a durable, high-quality design at a competitive price point, so if your hands are average-sized or smaller, this mouse is an easy recommendation.

Additionally, gaming mice are something you'll often see discounted during sale events like Black Friday, and even a mild price cut would take this mouse into genuine bargain territory.

LG 39GX950B-B: The Two-Minute Review

It's impossible to describe the LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B as anything short of phenomenal. It's the end goal for any PC gamer striving for the best quality, with its immersive 21:9 aspect ratio and crisp image quality, thanks to its 5K2K (5120x2160) display resolution.

It also uses a 4th-gen tandem OLED panel, best known for its improvements in sustaining high levels of brightness, reducing burn-in chances, and better efficiency, which is great for those long hours of gaming and productivity.

The 39GX950B-B has options to tackle the brightness uniformity and ABL (Automatic Brightness Limiter) frustrations that are common with OLED displays. In the monitor's OSD (On Screen Display), under 'brightness level', there are options for high and low levels as well as a 'uniform' setting that ultimately produces lower brightness, but sidesteps ABL issues.

Fortunately, though, I had little to no issues with ABL during gaming sessions, especially when testing Horizon Forbidden West, where HDR works best, and there are constant changes in scenery and color — but it's worth noting that it's more noticeable while working on a Windows desktop, where you may be opening and closing several different applications.

At 5K2K, you're essentially getting a standard 4K tandem OLED monitor that's widened to a 21:9 aspect ratio from 16:9. That doesn't come without downsides: 5K2K drives 33% more pixels than 4K, so using this display means you'll be better off using a powerful GPU (at least an RTX 4080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti, or higher) to hit higher frame rates without being overly reliant on upscaling.

While you might think the latter is solved if you already own a beefy GPU, 5K2K is effectively a permanent commitment (at least for the foreseeable future) to purchasing high-end GPUs, unless the generational leap in power for low- to mid-range GPUs increases sooner.

However, the 39GX950B-B features a 1080p Dual Mode (2580x1080 resolution), with a bump up to a 330Hz refresh rate, and an AI upscaling option within the display itself. The former is not only great for competitive gamers who prioritize high frame rates in online games, but it also ultimately reduces the heavy strain on the GPU.

AI upscaling is a great bonus for anyone looking to drop the internal resolution, especially if console gaming is required, as the monitor detects a non-native input signal and upscales it to 5K2K. I didn't have much reason to use this since my RTX 4080 Super is much better off utilizing Nvidia's DLSS technology in games, but it's great that LG included this as an alternative.

Overall, the LG 39GX950B-B is almost unmatched at delivering the most immersive gaming experiences possible, with HDR brightness that can hit up to 1,500 nits (in small highlights), and visual fidelity that had me gobsmacked at the visual detail in every game and movie I tested. I say almost, for a good reason.

It essentially places this display out of reach for most PC gamers, especially when its only major competition, the Alienware AW3926QW, is much cheaper at $1,099 / £999 / AU$1,999.

It's made worse for PC gamers, who may need to upgrade their entire gaming PC or GPU, in a PC hardware market already in complete disarray during an ongoing RAM crisis, leading to exceedingly overpriced hardware.

For a system that can handle the 5K2K resolution, the entire setup (including the monitor) would likely cost over $2,000 / £2,000 / AU$2,840, so it's not exactly accessible, despite its high level of quality.

Before the Alienware AW3926QW entered the market for consumers, the 39GX950B-B was still an expensive purchase, but the presence of competition at a far more affordable price has slightly diminished the value of LG's display.

If LG can drop the RRP (Recommended Retail Price) closer to Alienware's, it will likely attract more buyers for this 5K2K monitor.

LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B: Design

Much like fellow UltraGear Evo ultrawide displays, the 39GX950B-B features the same sturdy monitor stand, with excellent flexibility in swivel adjustments, as well as height and tilt. I often prefer a heavy-duty monitor arm for ultrawide monitors for more space, but I was reluctant to opt for one for my previous LG 45GS95QE 1440p ultrawide OLED, and I've kept the same trend with the 39GX950B-B.

Unlike its competition, the 39GX950B-B's screen has a matte finish and anti-glare design, and the latter has been fantastic when gaming or working in a bright, sunlit room. I prefer glossy screens, as they often provide an extra edge in image sheen and sharpness, evident in my review of the Alienware AW3426DW; however, some glossy screens (not Alienware's) can suffer from unwanted reflections in some scenarios, so I'm satisfied with the matte finish on this LG 5K2K monitor.

The OSD feels like a strong step up from non-UltraGear Evo models in terms of its style, with a new segment for an image to represent each category in settings, providing a premium look for a premium gaming monitor.

It's also great to see the 90W Power Delivery USB-C charging port, which is ideal for charging laptops or any separate devices used on a desktop.

I have my own PC speakers, so built-in monitor speakers aren't a focus at all for me, but unlike other monitors, the 39GX950B-B features two internal 7W speakers — and this was actually quite handy for me using my PS5 console (at a 16:9 aspect ratio) on the 39GX950B-B, since Sony's console can't use normal Bluetooth functionality on any audio device.

The only downside that's quite noticeable is the high temperatures felt after a few hours of use, which, in all fairness, should be expected for a monitor with 11 million pixels and 1,500 nits of peak brightness.

There is a wide range of features to utilize on the LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B, which is pivotal considering the 5K2K resolution's high demand on GPUs.

AI upscaling for both image and sound is available via the OSD, with the former notably useful for any user with a PC that might not be able to handle 5K2K. It works by dropping the display resolution on Windows (or Linux) and then enabling the mode with either the high or low setting.

Combining AI image upscaling with Dual Mode works wonders and is a great option for anyone looking to buy the 39GX950B-B and planning to upgrade their PC hardware to utilize the full 5120x2160 display resolution.

Dual Mode also allows 2560x1080 at 330Hz, which is a match made in heaven for competitive gamers, especially when taking advantage of upscaling via AMD's FSR or Nvidia's DLSS 4.5.

Brightness level options are high, low, and uniform. I found high to be the best setting to use for gaming, particularly games that are bright and colorful, and either low or uniform for movies and TV shows. Using high in movies or TV shows often made the ABL and dimming issues more noticeable, whereas uniform ensures brightness remains consistent.

LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B: Performance

The LG UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B absolutely knocks it out of the park in performance. The 4th-gen tandem OLED setup really shows its worth, with high levels of brightness in HDR across several games, inky-deep black levels thanks to the 1,850,000:1 contrast ratio, and exceptional image quality at 5K2K.

To really showcase the 39GX950B-B's standout performance, I played games like Control Resonant, Battlefield 6, and notably, Horizon Forbidden West, all of which are well-optimized PC ports and have well-implemented HDR.

Horizon Forbidden West looks phenomenal on this display, with its colorful environments and intense gameplay. Using DLSS 4.5 on my RTX 4080 Super, playing this game in either DLSS Balanced or Performance mode felt no different, as the image quality is at a new level entirely.

In case it wasn't clear enough, 5K2K is essentially a 4K monitor at ultrawide, so the benefits of the expanded field of view and increased immersion are still present, while sharpness in character model details and foliage take a huge leap.

I left Dynamic Tonemap on via the OSD for most of my game tests, including the high brightness level option, and found that HDR worked brilliantly in several scenes, even in the brightest scenarios. I realized that the detail that might usually be lost in bright sequences on older OLED models was maintained with the LG 39GX950B-B, and that's evident in the Forbidden West example above.

Before reviewing this model, I was accustomed to a 240Hz refresh rate with the LG UltraGear 45GS95QE OLED ultrawide, at a 3440x1440 display resolution. The fall to 165Hz with this UltraGear Evo 39GX950B-B seems significant, but it wasn't noticeable for me or a concern at all, especially since the jump from 1440p on a 45-inch display to 2160p on a 39-inch monitor is massive. To clarify, that is going from 83 PPI to 143 PPI, providing better sharpness in every way.

Unlike the Alienware AW3926QW, the LG 39GX950B-B doesn't feature an RGB stripe subpixel layout; instead, it has a white subpixel layout, but honestly, text clarity wasn't an issue for me using LG's monitor — and frankly, that's due to the heavy lifting done by the 5K2K's pixel density.

How I tested the LG UltraGear 39GX950B-B

I used the LG UltraGear 39GX950B-B for two weeks for gaming, movies, and productivity. The games I tested include: Resident Evil Requiem, Dragon's Dogma 2, Control: Resonant, Battlefield 6, Crimson Desert, Horizon Forbidden West, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Some of the movies include Avengers: Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Blade Runner 2049.

While this display doesn't have the RGB stripe subpixel layout that its rival Alienware AW3926QW has, I had no issues with any form of text fringing or clarity, which I suspect is due to the pixel density at 5K2K.

ABL issues are always present on OLEDs in some form, but thanks to the 4th-gen tandem OLED, this wasn't noticeable in most gaming scenarios, and it comes with a solution: a uniform brightness option when watching movies or TV shows, where it can be slightly more obvious.

Last week I flew out to Warsaw for Logitech G Play 2026. The gaming brand’s annual flagship event saw a wealth of new product reveals, with the Pro X2 Rapid keyboard and Pro X3 Superstrike mouse dominating headlines in the PC gaming peripheral space.

I tried them out at the venue ahead of the official launch, and they’re great pieces of hardware, but ones squarely aimed at a very specific audience of esports pros and aspiring competitive gamers. With top-of-the-line specs, they’re also pretty expensive at $229.99 / £209.99 / AU $399.95 and $199.99 / £169.99 / AU$299.95, respectively.

I naturally assumed that such high-end kit would be the highlight of the show for me, but it was actually something right at the other end of the price spectrum that impressed me the most.

The Logitech G316 X 75 is the latest arrival in the brand’s more budget-oriented G3 series.

It’s a smaller version of the existing G316 X 98 from earlier this year. I didn’t really pay much attention to the original launch: it was a full-size keyboard, and I’ve always preferred more compact designs for that extra desk space.

As a 75% size model, the G316 X 75 ditches the pointless numpad (seriously, when was the last time you used yours?) and a couple of little-used keys like Home and End to give you roughly 2.4in / 6cm on the right-hand side — perfect for positioning your mousepad if, like me, you’re short on desk space.

It wasn’t just the size that drew me to the G316 X 75 on the show floor, however. It’s a very flashy-looking keyboard with full RGB backlighting and a large LED strip with zones you can customize in the compatible Logitech G Hub software. There’s also a little LED screen in the top right corner which, alongside an accompanying button and dial, is used to turn on game mode (locking the Windows key), adjust music volume, or tweak key settings like RGB brightness.

It seemed like a practical little addition in my hands-on time, with some playful touches like a dancing smiley face that appears if you leave the keyboard idle. I found myself wondering if you could display your own little custom icon or emoji on the screen, though, sadly, a representative told me that wasn’t possible for now. A missed opportunity for even more personalization, perhaps.

The materials were decent for the price too. The whole keyboard is plastic, but it still feels weighty and suitably premium, with no noticeable flex when typing. Keycaps are double-shot PBT, with shine-through legends, so they should hold up for a long time as well. If anything does go wrong, both the keycaps and switches are hot-swappable for easy repairs.

On the subject of the switches, they’re tactile ones developed by Logitech that feel a bit different to alternatives from the likes of Cherry or Akko. They require a bit more force to press, and don’t really have that noticeable mid-press biting point characteristic of tactile switches. Unusual, but not necessarily a bad thing. They’re not super loud either, and are very smooth and still suitably satisfying to press.

This is obviously a keyboard geared more towards casual gaming than anything else and is wired-only, though that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few decent specs. The big one is the 8kHz report rate, which should ensure that you’re not held back by delayed inputs if you do venture into more competitive titles like Counter-Strike 2.

All of this comes in at just £89.99 / $99.99 / AU$169.95. I’ve tested keyboards that cost a hell of a lot more and offer far less bang for your buck, so I can see the Logitech G316 X 75 becoming the go-to choice for cost-conscious gamers.

PC gaming accessory maker Logitech G has just released the Pro X3 Superstrike, an upgraded version of the Pro X2 Superstrike that came out earlier this year.

We called the original model a 'revolutionary' innovation in our 5-star review, praising its unique Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS) switches. Relying on electromagnetic current, HITS allows you to customize everything from the exact actuation point of each click to just how much resistance there is when you press down.

This is a boon in an esports setting, where a short click speed can cut down click latency and, potentially, provide an edge over your opponents.

The upgrades found with the Pro X3 Superstrike are subtle, as you might expect given the short time between the two releases, but serve to make an already best-in-class product that little bit better.

It weighs the same 61g as the X2 model, but has been reworked internally for more even weight distribution. This, the team behind the mouse tells me, is the direct result of feedback given by esports pros who complained the original was too front-heavy.

Under the hood, it's also powered by a new chipset, dubbed the NxLOGI. Power efficiency was a major focus, with Logitech claiming that the X3 Superstrike can last more than 135 hours on each charge for a massive 45-hour boost compared to the X2.

There's an upgraded sensor too, which supports up to 48,000 DPI (compared to the 44,000 DPI of the previous model). Other flagship specs, like an up to 8,000Hz wireless report rate, remain unchanged — though there's now the option to achieve that when using the mouse in a wired capacity too.

Interestingly, there are some new features on the software side: you can now choose a range of Pro Presets in the compatible Logitech G Hub app, all inspired by the settings used by esports players like m0NESY or ShowMaker.

The result is a mouse that's clearly the better pick if you're weighing up the two, but all of this does with a price hike in the US and UK. The X3 Superstrike retails for $199.99 / £169.99 / AU$299.95. That's $20 / £10 more than the X2 (though, weirdly, the Australian price remains the same).

A Logitech representative did tell me that the X2 Superstrike will remain on sale alongside the X3 Superstrike for a time as an alternative for those who want something a little cheaper.

Insta360 Link 2 Pro webcam: Two-minute review

Action camera brand Insta360 has been making a name for itself in the webcam space recently, breaking out with its first-ever webcam, the Link, back in 2022. Then we saw the Insta360 Link 2 in 2024, so while I was hoping for a Link 3 this year, instead we're getting an interstitial generation: say hello to the Insta360 Link 2 Pro.

I can't say I'm disappointed, mind you. The Link 2 was a fantastic webcam, and while the Link 2 Pro is a fairly straightforward hardware upgrade, I'm not one to complain about getting more of a good thing. The Pro model increases the price a bit, but also delivers improved internals: a bigger, better sensor and wider aperture for superior FOV and light balance mean that 4K video capture looks even prettier. It also adds a little gold trim around the lens.

Now, the Link 2 was already a pricey product, so there's no denying that the Insta360 Link 2 Pro is very expensive for a webcam, even a 4K-capable one. More on that further down in this review, but in short: want one of the best budget webcams? This ain't that.

But for professional users creating video content or making regular presentations over video conferencing, the Link 2 Pro should be a very serious consideration. It may not be cheap, but you get a lot of webcam for your money: the performance, design quality, and feature set are truly all best-in-class.

It's almost a bit surprising that more camera companies haven't made the jump to webcams. From old-guard industry titans like Canon to up-and-coming manufacturers like DJI, you'd imagine that more of them would want to capitalize on a product type that has only become more necessary in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of remote work.

But hey: their loss is Insta360's gain, having made a seamless jump from action-cams and drones to premium webcams. And make no mistake, the Link 2 Pro is indeed a premium piece of hardware.

The build quality on display here is nothing short of excellent. The casing is a pleasingly sturdy construction of matte plastic and metal, with a compact folding clip that snaps magnetically to the rotating gimbal mount, makning it easy to attach to any monitor. It also features an industry-standard threaded screwhole on the underside for fitting it to a tripod or arm mount.

Of course, the gimbal is arguably the star of the show here. A two-point mechanism that allows for both horizontal and vertical rotation of the main camera unit, the gimbal allows the camera to track your movements within a wide radius thanks to AI-powered head-tracking technology.

I tested this thoroughly, and it really works; even when I attempted to move completely out of frame, the camera was surprisingly adept at tracking my movements.

That's not all it's capable of, though. The gimbal also enables several of the Link 2 Pro's nifty presentation modes, including desktop mode (which points down to the surface in front of you, ideal for showing off physical documents), whiteboard mode (which frames and zooms on a whiteboard or similar presentation board), and the very clever 'pause-tracking' mode (which lets you designate a specific area where the tracking lingers naturally as it follows you around, creating a more dynamic feel to your footage).

It also doubles as a privacy feature (as opposed to a lens cover or camera killswitch), with the lens pointing directly down when not in use. A set of four 'recognition markers' is included in the box, which are used for some of the tracking-lock modes.

All this fancy functionality, as well as more 'conventional' features like light balance adjustment and digital zoom, is readily accessible through Insta360's free software. It's a solid tool that makes setting up your ideal video experience swift and seamless, but even better, it's also available as a phone app – perfect for quick adjustments without needing to fire up an extra piece of software on your PC while you're trying to record.

With all that fancy AI baked into the Link 2 Pro, you might be hoping for something a little more sophisticated than tracking modes. Worry not: like the previous Link 2, this webcam features a set of preloaded gesture controls, letting you control the camera with your hand movements rather than needing to adjust anything in the app.

These are fairly basic, but I found they worked well in practice. Holding up your palm freezes (or unfreezes) your tracking or auto-framing preset, holding up two fingers toggles the aforementioned whiteboard mode, and making an 'L' sign and moving your hand up and down lets you zoom in and out. It doesn't feel particularly natural at first, but I quickly found myself adapting to it.

Now, let's get to the meat of this review: how's that picture quality? Well, I'm very pleased to report that it's nothing short of excellent. Even in the poorly-lit, cramped little box of a room I call a home office, I don't think I've ever looked better on a monitor-mounted webcam.

4K footage is sharp and bright at 30FPS with solid color reproduction. The upgraded sensor and larger aperture compared to the previous model give the Link 2 Pro great performance across a range of light conditions, showing me clearly and well-illuminated whether it was the middle of the day with the curtains open or late at night by the light of my desk lamp.

The field of view is also reasonably wide at 83.9 degrees, making it easy to fit two or even three people in frame for presentations or podcasts. I've seen webcams with broader FOVs – in fact, I very recently reviewed the Razer Kiyo V2, which boasts an almost too-wide 91-degree FOV – but this is more or less perfect for mainstream use.

The built-in microphone array is pretty good considering that integrated microphones frequently feel like an afterthought on webcams. It offers clear enough audio capture with AI-powered background noise canceling for casual to intermediate users, great for stuff like Zoom meetings, but serious professional content creators will likely still want to invest in a proper standalone microphone.

In terms of flexibility of use, it's good, if not perfect. It's relatively compact, so while there are smaller and lighter webcams out there, you can still take it with you on the go if you work across multiple locations. If you fit it to a suitable mount, you can easily flip it onto its side to record vertical video for social media without any loss of functionality. The only issue is that it's a tad bulky to mount atop a laptop display unless your laptop has a particularly sturdy hinge, but that's a pretty minor issue in the grand scheme of things.

Overall, I'm finding very little I can criticize about the Insta360 Link 2 Pro. Other than the fact that it's undeniably expensive and will almost certainly be more than the average user actually needs, this is just a fundamentally great product that easily ranks among the best webcams on the market right now.

If I absolutely had to pick something to nitpick here, it might be that the Link 2 Pro lacks any kind of lens cap. Dust and debris getting stuck on or under the lens can be a real irritation with webcams, so it would have been a nice inclusion – especially considering that it's a pricey, high-end webcam. But that really is the definition of nitpicking; this is genuinely one of the greatest webcams I've seen in a long time.

At $249.99 / £239 / AU$439, the Insta360 Link 2 Pro is the most expensive webcam the company offers, and it's undeniably a steep price for the average user. If you're purely looking for a high-quality 4K webcam and you're not bothered about fancy features, you could easily find one for half that price if you shop sales.

That being said, I'm not going to call this bad pricing. Considering that the Link 2 Pro is a high-end webcam aimed squarely at professionals who are serious about their hardware, along with the rich feature set and great picture quality it offers, I don't think the price is unreasonable – it's just not going to be worth it for more casual users.

I've been using an Insta360 Link 2 as my day-to-day webcam for several months now, so I was curious to see how it compared to the Link 2 Pro. As per my usual process for reviewing webcams, I replaced my daily driver with the Link 2 Pro for just over a week, using it for my usual spate of workday video calls.

I also installed the relevant Insta360 software on my phone and PC to test out its functionality, and made sure to test the performance of the Link 2 Pro in a range of different light conditions by recording video and comparing the clips side by side.

Samsung Display has unveiled the first OLED panel to deliver 10,000 nits of peak brightness, and it's already coming in a phone.

The new 'M16' OLED display is capable of 10,000 nits in 1% of the window, although in full screen it puts out a less searingly bright (but massively impressive) 2,800 nits. These numbers put it in the region of micro-LED tech, and way beyond anything we've seen for OLED so far.

Of course, brightness is all well and good, though few people are probably begging for their phone to be as bright as a full sunny day. What's arguably more exciting is that the panel is Samsung's second-generation polarizer-free OLED, which enables it to deliver significantly improved energy efficiency and brightness — the claim is a 30% improvement in efficiency.

This means that even if you view it more like the 1,000 nits of most elite phones, you're saving way more battery — and since the display is one of the biggest battery hogs in phones (or the best smartwatches, where the tech would also be really useful), that could make a real difference to phone longevity.

The M-series panels are made for smartphones and other mobile devices, but the advances in OLED material here may make their way into the best OLED TVs too, at least partly.

Where to see Samsung Display's new ultra-bright OLED

According to industry site FlatpanelsHD, Samsung Display will be providing the M16 OLEDs to Vivo for its iQOO 16 gaming phone.

Previous reports also suggest that Apple is using the M16 in its iPhone 18 Pro, as Apple has previously used even-numbered M-series OLEDs in its iPhones. My colleague Matt Bolton highlighted the longer battery life in the iPhone 8 Pro as one of its, uh, highlights — noting that battery improvements usually come from multiple elements combining, so it would makes sense if this new display is one of those elements.

For TV buyers, the most significant thing here is how fast OLED tech is evolving. Samsung announced its first 5,000 nit OLED in March 2025, and it's doubled the brightness and massively increased the energy efficiency in just over a year.

It'll be some time before these more efficient displays make their way to monitors and TVs (monitors might come sooner), and there are currently trade-offs involved — the lack of a polarizer can mean less defined contrast and black levels, which may be Apple is adding other anti-reflective tech to its displays — but clearly, any so-called OLED killers can't be complacent when OLED is evolving at such a speed.

Inkjet printers are cheap to buy, but replacement cartridges can quickly make them expensive to own, which is why I bought the Epson EcoTank ET-2861 ink tank printer. I've been really pleased with it, and Amazon has now cut the price significantly.

• Best for: Anyone who prints regularly at home and wants to avoid expensive replacement cartridges. It’s also a good choice for families, homework and everyday colour printing.

Why we recommend it

I found the ET-2861 easy to set up and use, and what I particularly like is not having to think about buying cartridges. Instead, you refill its large tanks using bottles, with a front display making it easy to see how much ink remains.

Cartridges for my old HP printer cost £167.50 each — although they were cheaper on eBay — so a single cartridge costs just £12.49 less than this entire printer with ink included. Epson says one set of bottles can produce up to 4,500 black-and-white pages or 7,500 colour pages.

Price context & historical value

Amazon has reduced the Epson EcoTank ET-2861 from £239.99 to £179.99, saving you £60 or 25% off the listed price. It has been cheaper in the past though. I picked it up for £129.99 a few months ago and it could be reduced in price for Black Friday and/or Prime Day. While the initial cost is higher than many conventional cartridge printers, Epson claims its refillable tank system can reduce printing costs by up to 95%.

The American equivalent model, the Epson EcoTank ET-2800, usually sells for $239.99 and is on sale for $199.99 at Amazon right now.

It combines a Sony 1/2.8-inch sensor with 4K recording at 30fps, AI noise-canceling microphone, and fast Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) to eliminate focus-hunting during calls. You can also switch to 2K or 1080p at 60fps for smoother video. It also features automatic low-light correction, a physical privacy shutter, and a USB-A to C adapter to connect to desktops and laptops.

Why we recommend it

The Sony sensor and PDAF are two welcome features. PDAF is designed to lock onto its subject quickly, reducing the distracting focus hunting that can occur when you move around during a call or stream.

The maximum 4K setting suits situations where detail takes priority, while 1080p at 60fps is a useful alternative when you want smoother movement.

Its built-in microphone uses AI noise cancellation to reduce unwanted background sound, and automatic low-light correction adjusts exposure when your room isn't particularly bright.

The 4K webcam also comes with a USB-A to C adapter for plug-and-play capabilities across desktops and modern laptops.

Price context & historical value

Amazon is currently selling the Acer A640 for $39.98, compared with its regular $49.99 price. That works out to a $10.01 saving, putting it just under the $40 mark. This is the cheapest we've ever seen it to date.

You regularly make video calls, stream or create video content and want better image quality without spending a huge amount of cash. Its choice of 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps gives you useful flexibility for different situations and meetings.

You only make occasional video calls and your laptop's built-in camera already does the job. Spending extra on 4K resolution and more advanced autofocus won't provide much benefit if image quality isn't particularly important to you.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

The headline 4K resolution is limited to 30fps, so you'll need to drop to 2K or 1080p to reach 60fps. There's no built-in speaker either, despite the webcam having its own microphone.

The 77.4-degree viewing angle is also relatively focused rather than extremely wide, which may not suit calls where you need to fit several people into the frame.

I’ve been a huge fan of Dell displays for a long time. So, when I first saw the UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED (U3226Q), I thought two things: What a long name, and Wow, that looks incredible.

I have got really used to my 52-inch beast from Dell, so I know they are capable of delivering spectacular quality and novel ideas. So, the idea of Dell jumping feet first into a creative monitor is really exciting… and they did it very, very well.

This monitor has DisplayHDR True Black; it’s a QD-OLED anti-glare coating; it's a 120Hz, 4K panel; and it’s built from the ground up for color-critical workflows that are vital to getting the colors just right. There’s a magnetic shade for use in areas with harsh or inconsistent lighting, a built-in colorimeter, and up to 1000 nits of peak brightness.

The specs are incredible, and rightfully so; this monitor is truly brilliant in all of the best ways. As long as you forget that unseemly price tag.

Dell UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED: Price and availability

The Dell UltraSharp 32-inch 4K QD-OLED can be purchased for $2,440 at Dell in the US. And in the UK, it's got an equivalent cost of £2,405 at Dell UK. It's also available from a range of other retailers, but not reliably so.

Dell UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED: Unboxing and First Impressions

I haven't really used it on a monitor or with shaders before; however, I've recently seen several. I didn't really understand why it would be used, but now, after seeing half a dozen monitor shaders in the last six months, I have a pretty good idea of why you would want them, why you would need them, and why you wouldn't need them.

Right away, I noticed just how sleek and polished this monitor looks. Granted, I have very good experience with Dell monitors at this point, but I still recognize the build quality on this thing, even from first on most

The packaging is pretty straightforward. After testing all some of the best business monitors over the last couple of years, I've learned to expect a certain level of standard in packaging. The monitor itself had front and back protection to ensure that it won't break during transport.

Dell UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED: Design & Build Quality

There is a reason why Dell monitors are insanely popular, especially in the business world. That's because, even though they don't have all the gimmicks that many other providers do, they have built their reputation on dependability.

This monitor, even though it is a high-end performance monitor, is built the very same way. It has the essentials covered, so the user can rely on it for any use case. It's able to fit in a really small project space all around.

The last thing I'll mention about design and build quality is the shader itself. It's made from a nice material. It doesn't look like it will sag at all, and it magnetically attaches, which is fantastic.

You may not always want to use this shader, but when you need it, you can easily slip it on to the display.

Dell UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED: In use

Using this monitor has been fantastic. It looks super sharp. It's clean. It's simple. It's not overstated. It mounts great on modern monitor arms. It has great ports. All these things result in very smooth, easy usability for me.

I was able to get this all set up very quickly, and once everything was set up, I was able to use it right away thanks to its single USB-C cable for connecting a laptop or desktop.

Now, if I want to add more to this monitor, such as a secondary machine or something, it does have great ports and several options, though. It doesn't have nearly as many options as some of the more advanced monitors I have seen.

My team and I have used this monitor for photo editing, for video editing, and for basic website design. So far, it's been spectacular to use. Its picture quality is spectacular, and the shader is super easy to disable when I don't need it.

One thing that I'm very thankful for is that this monitor is still bright. Most of the monitors and shaders I have seen have a really dim max brightness, but this one still looks great with max brightness.

Another thing worth touching on is the ports for the Dell Ultrasharp for the desktop setup in the photo. I use a single USB-C cable running directly from my laptop to the monitor.

If you've a more complicated setup where you're using one of the mini Thunderbolt docking stations or something similar, you can plug directly into it via USB-C or, of course, HDMI.

For the longest time, I would recommend Samsung or BenQ panels for creative work - in my experience, those companies produce some of the best monitors for photo editing and the like.

However, several more companies are stepping up when it comes to high-quality creative panels. Dell is clearly one of them, and honestly, I don't think its are too late to the game either. I think it's right on time, bringing its background of reliability and dependability to a growing demographic.

Dell UltraSharp 32 4K QD-OLED: Final verdict

If you know that you are looking for a creative monitor with specific specs, the best panel possible, and you even know what a shader is and what it does, then this is the kind of 4K monitor you should be looking into.

If you have to wonder whether this is worth it, it probably isn’t. It's total overkill for running standard office software and streaming the occasional movie.

If you know you're looking for an absurdly nice monitor because you are a video editor, a photo editor, or a content creator in some way, and you need a high-quality one, then absolutely make sure you check this one out.

Alienware AW3926QW: One-minute review

For serious PC gamers, few monitors have been more hotly anticipated than this epic 39-inch ultrawide beast. The Alienware AW3926QW combines LG's latest OLED panel tech with 5K2K native resolution on an incredible scale. The want is strong for this one.

But even those impressive highlights don't quite capture why the Alienware AW3926QW is such a hot item. There's more to it than that. Firstly, not only does it pack LG's new Tandem WOLED panel technology, it adds a further twist by offering RGB-stripe subpixels.

That probably seems like an arcane detail. But it has a broad impact on image quality, and not necessarily always for the better. Then there's the price. At $1,099 in the US and £999 in the UK, this is hardly a budget gaming monitor.

However, next to its closest rival and the only other 39-inch 5K2K OLED currently available, LG's own $1,799 UltraGear Evo GX9 39GX950B, it's massively cheaper and yet arguably more appealing. Of course, even on paper, the Alienware AW3926QW isn't perfect.

Its most obvious shortcoming is the mere 165 Hz refresh rate. Given that 32-inch 4K OLED panels with 240 Hz refresh are widely available, the step back to 165 Hz is a notable downgrade.

The pushback on that objection, however, is twofold. First, the 5K2K resolution translates into 5,120 by 2,160 pixels and therefore one heck of a lot of GPU load. In other words, the idea that you're going to be pushing 240fps-plus to this monitor in the latest and most demanding games is a bit fanciful. Most of the time, 165 Hz will be plenty.

Moreover, this isn't the kind of display anyone would buy specifically for high-frame rate esports gaming. It's wrong in all kinds of ways. But even then, Alienware has included a number of lower-resolution dual-mode resolution options with 330 Hz refresh. So, if you absolutely insist on esporting on this huge panel, well, it will accommodate that use case.

More likely, however, people will be considering this panel for all-round gaming and daily computing tasks. And in that context, the promise of a huge OLED panel that actually offers decent pixel density thanks to that 5K2K resolution is an absolutely tantalising proposition. This Alienware definitely looks set to take its place among both the best gaming monitors and the best ultrawide monitors in 2026.

Alienware AW3926QW: Price & availability

$1,099 is hardly the stuff of budget gaming. But it's still a very, very punchy price for this class of gaming monitor. The only comparable 39-inch 5K2K OLED monitor is the LG UltraGear Evo GX9 39GX950B. But that has an MSRP of $1,799.

What's more, despite the lower price, you get a glossy screen coating where the LG is matte, plus RGB-stripe pixels, albeit that comes with slightly lower brightness. Of course, if you shop around, you can grab a 32-inch 4K OLED for about half the price of this Alienware ultrawide monster.

So, even at this relatively discounted price compared with the closest competition, you're still paying quite the premium versus a "conventional" 32-inch 4K model. Still, given how cutting edge this display is, Alienware has done a solid on the pricing. It's very impressive.

Alienware AW3926QW: Specs

While the huge OLED panel is obviously the star of the show, the support act of features and design do matter. Alienware's latest visual language has ditched the Storm Trooper vibe of its earlier gaming displays comprising white glossy plastic and Sci-Fi lines in favour of organic, rounded shapes and dark blue, lightly textured plastic.

The new look is definitely less distinctive. But the chassis is well enough put together, and at least the minimalist look and slim bezels mean this monitor is unlikely to date quickly. For the record, the stand supports height, tilt, and swivel adjustment, plus a few degrees of pivot, the latter intended to allow for making the screen level as opposed to supporting portrait mode, which wouldn't be practical with such a large ultrawide panel.

Speaking of which, this is a huge monitor, and you'll need decent desk space to accommodate it. But the ergonomics are helped by the relatively gentle 1500R panel curvature.

Just what makes for the ideal curve is subjective, of course. But at least some curve on an ultrawide display of this size does help with both immersion and maintaining reasonable viewing angles at the extremities of the panel. But you can go too far with extreme curvature, too, something this monitor certainly avoids.

The glossy anti-glare coating is another feature that comes down to personal preference. The advantage is boosted contrast and clarity, the downside added reflectivity. On balance, it's probably a net win for this kind of OLED monitor due to the incredible HDR visuals it enhances.

Connectivity is another strong point. Along with the usual HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces, you get USB-C with 90W of power delivery and a KVM switch. There's also a USB hub with both USB-A and USB-C sockets, an example of each is located conveniently on the lower bezel.

Finally, it's worth noting that Alienware provides a full suite of burn-in mitigation features, like pixel cleaning. There's also a reassuring three-year warranty which includes burn-in cover.

Alienware AW3926QW: Performance

The OLED gaming monitor market has gotten pretty complicated of late, what with all the different panel technologies on offer. The Alienware AW3926QW is absolutely a case in point. It combines LG's latest Tandem WOLED panel generation with a new RGB-stripe subpixel structure in a huge 39-inch 5K2K package.

The immediate upshot is an OLED gaming monitor that combines an epic viewing vista with pixel density on-par with a 32-inch 4K monitor. That's an incredible combination of sheer scale and image detail, the likes of which are only matched by the aforementioned LG UltraGear Evo GX9 39GX950B. The 5K2K native resolution also makes this a pretty fabulous monitor for day-to-day computing. Text is crisp and clear, and there's oodles of desktop space.

However, it's that RGB-stripe subpixel structure, plus the gloss anti-glare coating, that separates this Alienware from that LG. So, how do the two compare? On paper, the LG is rated at 335 nits full-screen brightness and 1,500 nits peak HDR, while this Alienware tops out at 300 nits and 1,300 nits, respectively.

That's because the LG model uses a panel with an additional white subpixel in an RGWB configuration to boost brightness, where this Alienware has a pure RGB — or red, green and blue — subpixel structure. The thing is, that added white subpixel on the LG model isn't as effective at boosting color brightness as it is at boosting pure white brightness. So, in the real world, this Alienware feels pretty much just as punchy.

Even better, because of the pure RGB feature, if anything, colors are richer and more vibrant. Add in the glossy panel coating, and the results are a little short of spectacular. The HDR performance in games like Cyberpunk 2077 is incredibly impactful. Indeed, the punchy colors are closer to Samsung's QD-OLED tech than an RGWB LG panel.

Even better, you don't have to put up with downsides of QD-OLED, including its characteristic purple tint in bright ambient light. For pure visual theatre and immersion, this is probably the most impressive gaming monitor currently on the market.

It is not, however, perfect. In extremis, full-screen brightness is a limitation. As with all current OLED monitors, this display can only hit its peak 1,300 nits performance over a very small section of the panel. As you light up more and more of the panel, the maximum available brightness tails off.

So, in some outdoor scenes in games, let's say under the desert sun in Cyberpunk 2077, the results can be just a touch underwhelming. That's the one scenario where a traditional LCD monitor, and particularly one with mini-LED backlighting, can be more impressive thanks to far superior full-screen brightness.

While we're talking brightness, this Alienware suffers from another slight issue. Likely due to an anti-burn-in feature called Convex Power Control, the edges of the panel can dim slightly during gameplay. It's not a super-obvious problem, but once you notice it, it can detract a little from the overall impact of the display. Unfortunately, you can't toggle the feature off for now. Hopefully that will change in a future firmware update.

It's also true that the 165Hz refresh is modest by current gaming monitor standards, especially at this price point. How much of a limitation that really is in practice, well, it depends on what games you play. With the latest, most graphically demanding titles, it's not much of a limitation if you want to use the highest visual settings. It's not like you're going to hit 300fps at 5,120 by 2,160 pixels with all the eye candy switched on.

Of course, if you're playing, say, Counter-Strike 2 competitively, you're going to want a lot more than 165Hz. This monitor can actually deliver 330Hz running at one of its lower "dual-mode" resolutions that use pixel doubling to achieve alternative pseudo-native resolutions.

What's more, thanks to the incredible response performance of all OLED panels 330Hz plus 0.03ms response makes for excellent motion clarity. But like all dual-mode monitors, overall image quality and sharpness does take quite a hit. And, anyway, if you're really serious about esports, you're almost certainly not shopping 39-inch ultrawide panels.

Ultimately, then, our only significant reservation is the edge dimming that can happen during gaming. It's a bit of a pity because in pretty much every other regard, this is one of, if not the, most spectacular and enjoyable gaming monitors out there right now.

How I tested the Alienware AW3926QW

I used the Alienware AW3926QW for literally everything for two weeks. As well as running it through pretty much my whole steam library, it was also my daily driver for all kinds of computing tasks and also doubled as my movie watching panel.

I was looking out for how it compares with both LG-based monitors with RGWB-spec Tandem OLED panels and competition displays with Samsung's QD-OLED tech. It was fascinating to discover how it performs in terms of brightness compared to those alternatives and also what impact the RGB-stripe subpixel tech has.

Using it as a daily driver for work and web browsing was almost as interesting as the gaming larks. This is such a large, high-resolution display, it was all a real treat.

I also investigated all of the concerns that early adopters of this monitor have been dicsussing, including including green tinting, adaptive refresh flicker and so-called "vignette dimming." I found only the latter was much of a problem and even then it probably isn't a deal breaker.

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a printer for occasional home or home office use. I've picked out three Amazon inkjet printer deals that bring capable all-in-one models comfortably below $100. All three can print, scan and copy in color, with wireless connectivity for printing from your computer or mobile devices.

My top recommendation here is the Canon Pixma TS6520 is down to $81 (was $141 thanks to the quickest print speeds of the three, and the inclusion of automatic two-sided printing.

A good alternative is the HP Envy 6155 costs $90 (was $160). However, for the cheapest printer, check out the HP DeskJet 2955 at just $60 (was $90), making it the ideal price for back-to-school students and casual home printing.

Why we recommend them

All three cover the essentials for a home office without taking you over $100. The $59.99 HP DeskJet 2955 is the obvious budget choice if your printing requirements are fairly basic.

Spending another $20.49 on the Canon Pixma model gets you considerably faster print speeds, automatic duplex printing and a small OLED display. It's a great middle-ground, with more features and quickest print speeds.

At $89.99, the HP Envy 6155 costs the most of the three, but it adds a larger 100-sheet input tray and 2.4-inch color touchscreen alongside automatic two-sided printing, which is better for a home office setup.

Both HP models also include a three-month trial of Instant Ink.

Price context & historical value

The largest saving is on the HP Envy 6155, which has fallen from $159.99 to $89.99, knocking $70 off the price. The HP DeskJet 2955 drops from $89.99 to $59.99, saving you $30. Both HP printers are the cheapest we've seen them to date on Amazon.

The Canon Pixma TS6520 has been reduced from $140.99 to $80.48, saving you $60.51. This isn't the cheapest it's ever been as it was priced at $59.25 earlier this year.

You need an inexpensive all-in-one for relatively light home or home office duties. All three handle printing, scanning and copying without requiring much desk space. Wireless connectivity means you aren't restricted to printing from a computer connected by USB.

❌ Skip one of these printers if...

You regularly print dozens or hundreds of pages at a time. These are home inkjet printers designed for relatively modest workloads, so a faster printer with a larger paper capacity and lower running costs would make more sense for a busy office. I would personally consider buying an ink tank printer instead.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

Ink costs are worth considering before choosing any inexpensive inkjet printer, as the purchase price is only part of the long-term expense. The two HP printers include three months of Instant Ink, but you'll be charged a monthly subscription fee if you continue the service after the trial.

The HP models are also designed to work with cartridges containing original HP chips or circuitry, which limits your options for using cheaper third-party cartridges. If automatic two-sided printing is important, bear in mind that it's offered by the Envy 6155 and Canon Pixma TS6520 but isn't listed among the DeskJet 2955's features.

6K monitors give creative professionals an enormous amount of detail and working space, but they've traditionally been prohibitively expensive. I've found the LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A-S for $1,099 at Amazon.

That's not just its lowest ever price - it's the cheapest 6K monitor I've ever seen. For your money, you get a 32-inch Nano IPS Black display with a 6144 x 3456 resolution, DisplayHDR 600, Thunderbolt 5, 96W power delivery and extensive Mac and Windows connectivity.

It's aimed squarely at creative professionals, with the resolution, color accuracy and connectivity needed for photo editing, video production, design and other demanding visual work.

Why we recommend it

The 6K resolution packs more than 21 million pixels into the 32-inch panel and delivers a 224 PPI density. It offers up to 99.5% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3 coverage, real 10-bit color and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. That combination is ideal for photography, video editing, color grading, design and other work where image accuracy matters.

That said, you can buy excellent 4K monitors, including OLED models with better contrast and responsiveness, for similar or less money, so the value here really depends on how much you'll benefit from the additional resolution.

✅ Buy the LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A if...

You work with high-resolution photos, 6K video, detailed graphics or other visual content and can make practical use of the monitor's enormous resolution. Its combination of 224 PPI, wide color coverage and Thunderbolt 5 makes good sense as the centerpiece of a high-end creative workstation.

❌ Skip the LG UltraFine Evo 32U990A if...

You'd rather have the superior contrast, black levels and responsiveness of an OLED display. Our reviewer found the LG's IPS Black panel looked somewhat washed out alongside modern OLED monitors, while its 60Hz refresh rate and 5ms response time are relatively slow for such a top-end display.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

The 6K resolution is exceptional, but the rest of the display technology isn't quite as impressive. DisplayHDR 600 relies on edge-lit backlighting rather than full-array local dimming, and our reviewer found its HDR performance and black levels couldn't compete with OLED.

There are some physical compromises as well. The mix of plastic and metal doesn't have the premium build quality you might expect at this level, while the large external power brick makes for a less tidy setup. The matte anti-glare coating can also introduce a slight visible sparkle.
