The Catch: What to know before you buy

Before buying, make sure your desktop or laptop includes an M.2 2280 slot supporting PCIe NVMe drives. While the 990 EVO Plus works with both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 platforms, older systems may not benefit from the drive's full performance.

I've been testing and writing about robot vacuums for nearly a decade here on TechRadar Australia and one of the standouts for me in the past 12 months was (if you'll excuse the pun) an absolute dream machine.

If you read my in-depth Dreame Aqua10 Ultra review, you'll know just how impressed I was with its overall performance, and my nitpicking complaints were mostly to do with how its battery gets used, which honestly isn't even a complaint — perhaps more of an observation.

It is, however, a premium model that I've only very rarely seen discounted. Its slightly cheaper sibling, the standard Dreame Aqua10 Roller, though, is almost as good and also currently 44% off on Amazon, and just AU$69.35 more than its Prime Day price from earlier this July.

That's still a sight better than having to pay nearly three grand for the Ultra version.

The differences between Aqua10 Roller and its Ultra sibling may seem like a long list, but trust someone who's still using the latter in her own home — it's overkill and not worth the extra cash.

So what are those differences? Well, for starters, the LiDAR turret doesn't lower itself automatically on the standard Roller version, but that's not unique to it, especially at this price. It also misses out on the 3D mapping that the Ultra version does but, again, a 2D map is pretty much all most people will need (floors, after all, tend to be pretty flat). And it gets a single-compartment soap dispenser instead of the dual-slot one in the Ultra which, again, isn't necessary unless you want to use an odour-neutralising solution as well.

For your money, you're still getting a whopping 30,000Pa of suction which, going by how well my Ultra version utilises it, will do very well on carpets and I am in awe at how well the roller mop works on the Dreame. There are plenty of intelligent features available on the Aqua10, including intelligent stain removal, so if you think your robovac has forgotten its navigation path and is circling, that's likely just its sensors picking up extra dirt in a small area and getting the bot to clean repeatedly for a thorough job.

It's also a machine that promises excellent edge cleaning, since it uses the exact same side brush and extending roller mop as the Ultra model. And the Roller even has the same automatic mop cover, which comes on as soon as it detects carpet to keep the mop head clean and your carpet dry.

While the Roller doesn't quite match the Ultra's ability to move over thresholds and steps up to 8cm tall, it's capacity to tackle heights up to 6cm is still above average, and means it can potentially head into patio areas if your sliding door frames aren't very high.

If it performs anywhere as well as my Ultra model, I think the Dreame Aqua10 Roller will be hard to beat at its current discounted price.

Built for professional makers, workshops, and small businesses, the xTool F2 Ultra industrial-grade desktop laser engraver is currently selling for $3,998.99 at Amazon, down from its $4,999 list price.

It features a powerful 60W MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) fiber laser capable of deep engraving, 3D embossing, color engraving, and cutting metal up to 2mm thick. It also supports black marking on aluminum, laser cleaning, thin metal welding, and works with stainless steel, titanium, brass, gold, silver, and more.

Should you buy it?

✅ Buy the xTool F2 Ultra if...

This machine is designed for anyone producing custom products, industrial parts, jewelry, signage, or personalized gifts. It engraves at speeds up to 15,000mm/s, offers an 8.7 x 8.7-inch working area that can be expanded with an optional conveyor, and uses dual 48MP AI cameras to improve positioning accuracy to 0.2mm while automatically detecting materials and suggesting settings.

❌ Skip the xTool F2 Ultra if...

The F2 Ultra is far more machine than most hobbyists need. Its nearly $4,000 sale price remains a major investment, it requires space to operate safely, and as a Class 4 laser engraver it demands appropriate eye protection and safe working practices. If you only engrave occasionally or mainly work with wood and acrylic, a less powerful system may offer better value.

Why we recommend it

Few desktop fiber laser engravers combine this level of power, speed, and automation. The ability to produce more than 100 consistent colors on metal, perform deep engraving and embossing, and streamline setup with AI-assisted cameras makes it a capable tool for businesses looking to increase productivity while keeping high-quality results.

The Geekom IT13 strikes an excellent balance between performance, connectivity, and upgradeability. Support for four displays, dual USB4 ports, fast networking, and expandable memory make it suitable for everything from home offices to content creation.

If you're looking for fast, dependable storage for a NAS or desktop computer, Seagate has you covered with a number of great brands. IronWolf is built for always-on network storage, while the BarraCuda is a terrific budget choice for everyday PCs.

The Seagate IronWolf 4TB NAS hard drive is currently available for $235.99 at Newegg. Designed specifically for NAS systems, it combines 4TB of CMR storage with a 5400 RPM spindle speed, a generous 256MB cache, and SATA 6Gb/s connectivity.

AgileArray technology, rotational vibration sensors, and support for workloads of up to 180TB per year make it well suited to multi-bay NAS enclosures that stay powered on around the clock.

The 2TB Seagate BarraCuda hard drive costs $139.99, but you can get $10 off by applying coupon code EPF5424. The HDD spins at 7200 RPM, includes a 256MB cache, and offers SATA 6Gb/s connectivity.

Which HDD should you buy?

If you run a NAS for backups, media streaming, or shared files, the IronWolf is the better investment. Features such as CMR recording, RAID-focused firmware, vibration protection, and three years of Rescue Data Recovery Services are all designed for continuous operation inside multi-drive systems.

The BarraCuda is aimed more at traditional desktop use rather than network storage, although it can be used in a NAS. Its faster 7200 RPM speed makes it a good choice for storing photos, videos, and large files, while keeping costs lower than high-capacity SSDs.

Why we recommend them

The IronWolf HDD is engineered specifically for NAS environments. It supports continuous 24/7 operation, includes health management features on compatible NAS platforms, and is designed to maintain reliable performance when several drives are working together.

The BarraCuda HDD focuses on versatility and offers plenty of capacity for everyday computing, a healthy 256MB cache, and dependable performance for general-purpose desktops, making it an easy recommendation if you simply need more space.

The IronWolf's dedicated NAS features help justify its premium over standard desktop drives, especially if your data is stored in a RAID array or accessed throughout the day. The current price isn't the cheapest however. It was $169.99 at Newegg at the start of July and briefly dipped down to $154.99.

Meanwhile, the BarraCuda delivers excellent value for anyone looking to add affordable high-capacity storage without moving to a more expensive SSD. $129.99 is a good price, although in May it was available for $110, and in April it was just $89.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

These are mechanical hard drives, which makes them great for NAS purposes. Neither can match the speed of an NVMe SSD for booting Windows or launching demanding applications.

The IronWolf is intended for NAS systems, so many of its specialist features provide little benefit in a standard desktop PC. The BarraCuda is more versatile, but it lacks the workload rating and RAID optimizations, which is where the IronWolf shines.

Its 14.5-inch IPS touchscreen offers a crisp 2944 x 1840 resolution, while Windows 11 Pro provides business-ready features.

The Yoga Slim 7x balances performance, portability, and display quality in a slim premium chassis. The combination of a sharp 14.5-inch touchscreen, modern Snapdragon X Elite platform, 16GB of fast LPDDR5X memory, and a lightweight design makes it an attractive everyday laptop for anyone who spends long hours working away from a desk.

In his four and a half star review, our expert Isaiah said the Yoga Slim 7x was "a spectacular laptop built for AI using Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite X CPU" and the OLED screen meant it was "one of the best-looking I've ever used". He was also impressed that the Slim 7x "truly can provide all-day battery life depending on your activity and screen brightness levels, keeping your charger stored away for a while."

Price Context & Historical Value

A saving of more than $420 makes this one of the more substantial discounts seen on a premium Copilot+ laptop with these specifications. Considering its premium display, Windows 11 Pro, and Snapdragon X Elite processor, the current price represents much better value than paying full retail.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

This upgraded model is sold with a one-year warranty from Velztorm rather than Lenovo, and it doesn't include dedicated graphics or external display connectors. Those limitations are worth keeping in mind if your workload depends on high-end graphics performance or extensive wired connectivity.

It's also worth noting that there's a newer Gen 11 version of the Yoga Slim 7x with a Snapdragon X2 Elite chip. This model received a four star review from our expert Lewis.

With the new school year approaching, it's the ideal time to check that your tech is up to the task. One area you may be looking at for an upgrade is your laptop, and fortunately, there are dozens of deals available in the back-to-school sales. So, I've taken a look and picked out 10 of the best laptop deals I'd recommend right now.

The biggest battle when it comes to bagging the best bargain is between these two options: the Dell XPS 13 or the MacBook Neo. With a student discount, both can be yours for $599.99, which is outstanding value for money for a pair of powerful and efficient laptops.

Every time there's a new Samsung launch, the official store is usually the first place I look for the strongest deals. And it looks like the best option yet again, as you can currently get a Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 for as low as $129.99 when you trade in, thanks to this limited-time launch offer.

To get this full $250 rebate, you need to hand over a Galaxy Watch Ultra or an Apple Watch Ultra 2, which most would consider a bit of a downgrade. The Creality K1C is our 3D printing expert's favorite machine - it's not an ultra high-end unit, but during our tests it performed brilliantly for a relatively budget machine, suitable for just about everyone. The catch? While it supports multi-color 3D printing, it was slow during our workshop testing.

Why we recommend it

With a build volume of 350 x 350 x 350mm, the Creality K2 Plus is the one to go for if you want to print larger pieces - in our 4.5-star review, we praised the build quality, features, versatile material support that "ultimately produces outstanding prints." This isn't the cheapest I've seen it on sale, as back in June it hit $1099 - so you might want to wait to save a little more.

The catch? Due to the build volume, this 3D printer has a large footprint that won't be suitable for a lot of spaces.

After a grand reveal in the latest Galaxy Unpacked event, preorders for the brand-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 are now live. Retailers and mobile networks have several launch deals available for those interested in picking up a device on August 7, so I've had a look through and picked out the best options.

One of the standout deals in the US is at the official Samsung store, where you can get savings of up to $1,200 with a trade-in, as well as an extra $30 off if you registered your interest ahead of Unpacked. As for the networks, you can get even larger discounts of up to $1,900 at T-Mobile when you add an eligible line, or get a Galaxy Z Fold 8 for as little as $30 a month at Verizon when you pair it with the Simplicity plan.

In the UK, the Samsung store is also a strong option, as you can get an extra £100 off with a trade-in, and use the £30 voucher from registering your interest to save on accessories. Meanwhile, networks such as Sky Mobile are offering their own large trade-in rebates of up to £934, plus a free Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 with the latest handsets.

If you're looking for a cheap portable monitor for travel, then I definitely recommend the AOC 16T35 for $60 (was $90) at Best Buy. This is a very limited-time deal though, which runs out soon.

We tested the AOC 16T3EA, which is identical in size, weight, and screen, awarding it 4.5 stars and a Highly Recommended badge in our review.

Now, the AOC 16T35 is a significant upgrade that's actually cheaper to buy. Notably, it boasts two USB-C ports rather than one, an additional mini HDMI port and, addressing one of our issues with the stripped back version, it has built-in speakers. They're not ultra loud, but I always find it's better to have them if you're just jumping on a quick video call.

Should you buy it?

✅ Buy the AOC 16T35 if...

You're looking for a budget portable monitor that delivers a good display for office tasks. In our tests, we found it made viewing and editing business documents "absolutely superb."

❌ Skip the AOC 16T35 if...

You're a creator. While the FHD display makes it a great business companion, we found the limited color accuracy holds it back from being a recommended pick for creative professionals.

Why we recommend it

In our review, we called AOC's portable screen "a solid, lightweight option for working on the move." And that was for the pared back AOC 16T3EA.

This is a much better offer at a much better price. The AOC 16T35 increases USB-C ports from one to two, adds a mini HDMI, and includes built-in speakers. If you were choosing between the two, I wholeheartedly recommend the 16T35 model.

The portable monitor performed well in our tests particularly for business-oriented tasks like viewing PDFs, browsing, checking emails, and running office software.

We found it very easy to set up, and we appreciated the amount of control you have over the display in the OSD.

It's not suitable for professional creative tasks, given the color accuracy - although, if you're just using it to expand screen real estate while editing photos for your social media page, it's more than suitable for that. Just don't go using it for editing features or print-ready marketing materials.

In fact, in our testing, we specifically highlighted that: "Overall, the monitor performed well, with a clear display and a beautiful matte finish that made it ideal for office work and browsing the internet. In creative use, it was also a good option for palettes, as well as email, documents, and anything else that didn't require absolute colour accuracy."

Price Context & Historical Value

At $60, this sits firmly at the budget end of the best portable monitors we've tested. Considering what you get here - a second screen with three actually useful ports, a clever kickstand, and built-in speakers, this is an easy recommendation. A lot of cheap portable displays that hover around the $50-60 mark - particularly the non-branded ones - lack all of these features.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

Obviously I've mentioned the color accuracy issue already. But if that forms any part of your workflow, avoid this monitor. And look for one with a higher resolution, too - 2K should do nicely.

The other issue is the speakers. While I always appreciate them, it's fair to say the ones equipped to the AOC 16T35 aren't especially powerful. They're fine for video calls or checking videos, but I'd recommend investing in a proper external speaker if you're relying on audio in your job.

Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale is running all week, and as part of the event, there are several offers on all sorts of Apple tech. I've gathered up all of the biggest savings right here, including discounts of up to $500 on MacBooks, iPads, AirPods, Apple Watches, and iPhones.

My main highlight is the return of the AirPods Pro 3 to $199.99 (was $249.99). This was once the record-low price for the popular Apple buds, but they did fall to $169 very briefly during the recent Prime Day sale. However, this is the next best price, and it's unlikely they'll fall that low again until Black Friday in November.

You can also find the Apple Watch Series 11 for $299 (was $399). Again, that's the lowest price available right now for the best-selling smartwatch — and only $20 more than the previous record-low price. Not a bad deal, then, outside of a major sale.

You want the best balance between performance and price. Why we recommend them

These two mini PCs target different very different buyers. The cheaper AX8 Max combines AMD's Ryzen 7 8745HS processor with Radeon 780M graphics, fast DDR5 memory, dual USB4 ports, dual 2.5GbE networking, and support for up to four displays.

Its IceBlast 2.0 cooling system is designed for quiet operation, making it well suited to offices, home workspaces, or always-on NAS duties where low noise is important.

The A9 Max is more for buyers with deeper pockets who need considerably more horsepower. AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 processor brings dedicated AI acceleration alongside Radeon 890M graphics, while 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB SSD provide plenty of room for demanding applications.

The AX8 Max's current $619 price is reasonable. It was $499 in October 2025, and went up to $999 in April 2026. Similarly, the A9 Max at $1,439.10 is more expensive than the $999 it was in August 2025, but much cheaper than the $,1799 Amazon was selling it for in May 2026. Looking at the range of prices, the message here is clear: Whichever model you go for, buying at the right time can save you hundreds of dollars.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

The biggest question isn't which mini PC discount is better, but whether you genuinely need the extra performance.

The cheaper AX8 Max already offers enough power for the vast majority of workloads, making it the smarter buy for many people.

The pricier A9 Max only becomes worthwhile if you'll benefit from its faster processor, larger memory and storage, stronger graphics, and dedicated AI capabilities.

If you're tired of buying ink cartridges every few months, this is a good time to switch to a cartridge-free tank printer. Right now, the HP Smart Tank 5101 is $170 (was $260) at Amazon, and comes with 2 years of ink already included in the box.

For home, dorm room, home office, and small businesses printing a mix of monochrome and color documents and photos, it's an ideal pick. Particularly as HP's ink tank printers tend to have larger tank reservoirs compared to rivals like Epson's EcoTank range.

Should you buy it?

✅ Buy it if...

You want to save on running costs because bottled ink is much cheaper than inkjet cartridges and you get four bottles free in the box. We recommend ink tank printers if you're chiefly printing documents and photos.

❌ Skip it if...

Why we recommend it

Having tested HP’s Smart Tank line alongside the Epson EcoTank, Canon MegaTank, and Brother INKvestment range, we strongly recommend ink tank printers over traditional inkjet models that use cartridges.

The pitch for tank printers like the HP Smart Tank 5101 is straightforward: instead of buying ink cartridges that run out every few hundred pages, you refill four visible ink tanks from bottles, and each bottle lasts dramatically longer. HP estimates the included set of ink bottles is good for roughly 6000 pages.

Setup leans on HP's Smart app, which walks through Wi-Fi connection and initial configuration with guided, step-by-step prompts rather than dropping you into a printer's typically clunky onboard menu system. Once connected, illuminated smart buttons on the printer itself are meant to guide you through common tasks like printing, scanning, and copying.

Print speed is modest rather than fast — HP rates this around 12 pages per minute for black-and-white and 5 pages per minute for color in normal mode, with the higher-quality "best" setting slower still. That's typical for tank printers in this price range, and fine for everyday home printing, but not the machine to reach for if you regularly print large batches of documents quickly.

Price Context & Historical Value

This isn't the cheapest the 5101 has ever been - back in 2024, it dropped to an all-time low of $140 direct from Amazon. However, it's cheaper now than any third-party seller has sold it before brand-new ($180 was the price back in April 2025). Typically, we see it selling at around the $190 to $250 mark when not on sale. The highest price it's been sold for is $280. Right now, it's also available for $170 at Best Buy, too.

The Catch: What to know before you buy

A few honest caveats worth flagging: some reviewers have reported software quirks and occasional paper jams with this model, and if you print only occasionally rather than regularly, the ink in an inkjet's print head can dry out and clog between uses. This is best suited to households or small offices that print often enough to make the low cost-per-page actually pay off.

As part of Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale, the price of the Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (M5) has dropped to $1199 (was $1299).

You want a lightweight premium laptop with strong everyday performance, and enough memory and storage for years of work, study, and creative tasks. Battery life impressed us during testing, lasting around 15.5 hours of web use and comfortably getting through a full working day on a single charge.

❌ Skip this deal if...

You need a larger display, more ports than Thunderbolt 4 provides, or dedicated graphics for demanding professional workloads and modern PC gaming. In that case, check out the MacBook Pro instead.

Why we recommend it

In his review, our laptop expert Lance said the latest MacBook Air was "the best ultraportable I've ever used". He noted it delivers an outstanding balance of performance, battery life, and portability, handling everything from everyday productivity to photo editing, 8K video editing, and even gaming without feeling out of its depth.

Despite its slim, fanless design, he found it surprisingly difficult to push the M5 chip to its limits, even with demanding creative applications and heavy multitasking.

The 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, and 16GB of memory provide plenty of performance for work, creative projects, and everyday computing, while the upgraded 512GB SSD delivers faster storage than previous entry-level MacBook Air models, helping applications launch quickly and improving file transfers.

The programmable buttons and smart control knob require the TobenONE software and are available only on Windows. Mac users can still use the dock's core functions, but customization is limited, and macOS mirrors content across two external HDMI displays rather than supporting two independently extended screens.

Our biggest criticism was bandwidth. Although compatible with USB4 and Thunderbolt hosts, the dock limits its USB data ports to 5Gbps, so fast external SSDs won't reach their full performance. It also ships without a power adapter, meaning you'll need to provide your own if you want laptop charging.

Why we recommend these mini PC deals

Both machines share the same slim Minisforum chassis and general design philosophy, but the CPU gap between them is real rather than cosmetic.

The Ryzen 5 7640HS in the UM760 is a capable 6-core, 12-thread chip that handles everyday desktop work, browsing, and light multitasking comfortably.

The Ryzen 7 8745H in the UM870 steps up to 8 cores and 16 threads with a newer Radeon 780M GPU, and independent benchmarking has shown its multi-core performance landing in the upper third of current mini PCs, without thermal throttling under sustained load.

What to know before you buy

Something worth flagging on both: the blue status LED on Minisforum's UM-series machines has drawn complaints from some owners as distractingly bright in a dark room.

And if you plan to run Linux on either, the bundled Wi-Fi cards have had driver support issues reported by some reviewers — a wired Ethernet connection sidesteps that entirely.

One thing worth clearing up first: despite some marketing copy floating around describing this as a 4K projector, the Horizon's native resolution is 1920 x 1080 — this is Xgimi's entry-level Horizon, not the 4K "Horizon Pro" that sits above it in the line-up. If you specifically need native 4K, this isn't that projector. But for presenting or streaming Full HD content, 1080p from a bright, well-built projector at this price is a genuinely great deal.

The built-in Harman Kardon speaker setup is a real convenience feature — two 8W drivers with Dolby Audio and DTS-HD support mean you don't need a soundbar or external speakers just to get a watchable experience out of the box.

The setup features are also worth calling out: auto focus, auto keystone correction, and intelligent screen alignment handle the fiddly parts of projector setup automatically, and obstacle avoidance helps the image adjust around furniture in the frame rather than requiring a perfectly clear wall.

One honest caveat beyond the resolution: Our own testing of the pricier Horizon Pro found that if you're mostly watching Full HD content rather than 4K, the standard non-Pro Horizon is actually the smarter buy — which lines up well with what this deal is offering. Just don't expect the sharper 4K detail of Xgimi's higher-end models at this price.

I've spotted a top deal on a business-grade desktop replacement with genuine multi-core power and an upgrade path built in, with the the HP Elite Mini 800 G9 Business Desktop Computer PC is down to $1100(was $1799) at Amazon.

Now, I will say, this isn't the right mini PC if you're looking for a comfortable home office pick that'll power through Word, Excel, and a bunch of Chrome tabs.

As part of HP's line, this is a desktop-class mini computer that's going to better suited for businesses, IT management, running multiple virtual machines, or more demanding office workloads.

Today's top mini desktop PC deal

The i7-14700 is the real headline here. Unlike the mobile or low-power "T-series" chips that populate most mini PCs, this is a full 65W desktop-class processor with 20 cores and 28 threads — a genuinely different tier of multi-core performance without the usual mini PC compromises.

That desktop-class CPU inside such a small chassis (HP quotes roughly 7 x 7 x 1.3 inches) does mean cooling has to work harder than in a full-size tower, so expect the fans to spin up audibly under sustained heavy load — a reasonable trade-off for the processing power packed into this footprint, but worth knowing if you need near-silent operation at your desk.

Both the RAM and storage are genuinely upgradeable here, which isn't a given at this size: two SO-DIMM slots support up to 64GB of DDR5, and dual M.2 slots mean you can add a second drive rather than being stuck with what shipped in the box. That upgrade path is a meaningful point in this machine's favor over sealed or single-slot mini PC competitors.

Being an HP Elite-series business machine also brings enterprise features that consumer mini PCs typically skip: HP Wolf Security, BitLocker and Windows Defender support baked into Windows 11 Pro, remote management tooling, and vPro-adjacent manageability features that make this a sensible pick for IT departments doing fleet deployments, not just individual buyers.

One note: Intel UHD 770 integrated graphics are fine for office work, multiple displays, and light creative tasks, but this isn't a machine for gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads — HP does offer higher-end Elite Mini configurations with discrete graphics if that's a requirement, but this configuration isn't one of them.

For a business-grade desktop replacement with genuine multi-core power and an upgrade path built in, the Elite Mini 800 G9 at $1,099.99 is a strong buy.

We've seen some strange corporate crossovers in our time, but a 3D printer teaming up with the emoji people is a new one, even for us. Somewhere in a boardroom, someone pitched "what if the printer itself was 😀" and everyone said yes. Weird? A little.

But the Elegoo x emoji Centauri Carbon 2 Combo for $429 (was $489) with code 717EMOJIDAY at checkout to celebrate World Emoji Day.

Don't let the glow-up fool you. This is a genuinely excellent multicolor 3D printer that smashed our workshop tests, only now it's wearing a silver-and-clear costume covered in grinning faces. In the UK, the emoji-themed Centauri Carbon 2 is now £378 (was £415), too.

Today's top Elegoo 3D printer deal

Strip away the emoji branding and this is mechanically the same machine as the standard black Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, which we reviewed and rated 4.5 out of 5. We called it "one of the cheapest and most reliable multifilament printers on the market", praising the Canvass system's four-filament setup as genuinely easy to use.

In our testing, dimensional accuracy stood out as a particular strength, with tight tolerances across a range of test targets and clean color separation on multicolor prints — an area where cheaper multifilament machines often struggle with bleed between colors. The fully enclosed chamber and 350°C nozzle also mean this isn't limited to basic PLA; it handles engineering filaments like ABS, ASA, PC, and nylon, which is unusual at this price point.

The emoji edition itself is purely cosmetic on top of that foundation: the silver-and-clear look, emoji decals across the chassis and build plate, and the bundled 17-color emoji PLA set are the only differences from the standard Combo. If the novelty aesthetic doesn't appeal, the regular black version is typically the cheaper option — but if you've got kids (or a desk that could use some personality), the tie-in isn't just a gimmick slapped on top of a bad product.

A couple of honest caveats carried over from the standard model: filament reels sit exposed on the outside of the machine rather than in a dry box, so humidity and temperature swings in a garage or workshop can affect print quality more than on pricier enclosed systems. Multicolor prints also still produce some purge waste as the Canvas system swaps filaments between colors, which is standard for this class of printer but worth planning for if you're printing frequently.

Whether you're in it for the genuinely capable multicolor 3D printer underneath or the sheer novelty of a printer plastered in 😂 faces, $429 / £378 with code 717EMOJIDAY is a good price for either.

If a 32GB DDR5-6000 kit is on your build list, I've just found two good options that are now even cheaper.

First up, you can get V-Color's Manta XSky CL30 kit for $419.99 (usually $449) at Newegg.

Then there's the Corsair Vengeance CL36 kit for $429.37 (usually $476.99) at Amazon — both discounted, with the tighter timings on one and the brand-name safety net on the other.

Today's top DDR5 RAM deals

Both of these kits run at the same 6000MHz headline speed, but the timings tell a different story. The V-Color kit's CL30 rating is meaningfully tighter than the Corsair kit's CL36, and in real terms that means lower memory latency — the kind of difference that shows up in CPU-bound games and latency-sensitive workloads, even if the two kits post similar raw bandwidth numbers on paper.

Corsair's Vengeance line, on the other hand, is one of the most established names in desktop memory, with dual AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles baked in — useful if you're not committed to a platform yet, or if you're building a system for someone else and want the broadest possible compatibility without needing to hunt down a platform-specific SKU.

Aesthetically, the two kits split down the middle too. The V-COLOR Manta XSky ships with RGB lighting in a taller black heatspreader, which matters if this is going in a windowed case you actually look at. The Corsair Vengeance kit skips the RGB entirely for a lower-profile grey heatspreader, which can be the safer pick if you're running a large air cooler and need to double-check RAM clearance.

A couple of honest notes: neither kit's rated 6000MHz speed and timings are guaranteed on every motherboard — actually hitting CL30 or CL36 at 6000MHz depends on your board's memory controller and BIOS support for AMD EXPO or Intel XMP, so it's worth checking your motherboard's supported memory list (QVL) before buying either.

And while V-COLOR is a well-regarded enthusiast memory brand, it doesn't carry the same broad name recognition or retail support network as Corsair, which is worth weighing if brand support history matters to your purchase.

If tighter timings and RGB matter more to you, go with the V-Color Manta XSky at $419.99. If you'd rather stick with an established name and broader platform support, the Corsair Vengeance kit at $429.37 is the safer call.

UGOS, Ugreen's operating system, has matured considerably since the DXP series launched in 2024. Early criticism centered on missing features and instability; that criticism is now largely outdated. The App Center has grown substantially, Docker is well-integrated, and the web interface is clean and intuitive. The honest caveat is that UGOS is still newer and has a smaller ecosystem of native apps than Synology DSM or QNAP QTS — buyers who rely on specific Synology or QNAP apps that have no UGOS equivalent should verify compatibility before switching. If you're shopping for a new phone but aren't sold on the usual Apple, Samsung, or Google options, this deal on the Nothing Phone (3) is well worth a look.

Right now, it's down to $599 (was $799) at Amazon, which is extremely close to the record-low price we saw over Prime Day just a few weeks ago. The device briefly hit $584, but this is the next best price I've seen.

On paper, the Nothing Phone (3) packs plenty of flagship-worthy hardware, including a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a versatile quad 50MP camera system, and a sharp 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It doesn't quite match the Galaxy S26 in outright performance, but that's arguably beside the point.

Nothing has built its reputation on offering something genuinely different, with a bold industrial aesthetic and a clean, distinctive take on Android that stands apart from the competition. Combined with this record-low price, the Phone (3) makes a compelling alternative to more conventional flagship devices like the Galaxy S26 or Google Pixel 10.

Is the Nothing Phone (3) still worth it in 2026?

When we reviewed the Nothing Phone (3) at TechRadar, we came away impressed by its distinctive design, solid hardware, and polished software experience. Our biggest criticism was its launch price, which put it in direct competition with flagship phones from Samsung and Apple. That made it a tougher recommendation unless you were looking for something really different.

With today's discount, however, the Phone (3) is a more tempting option. While the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset doesn't quite match the raw performance of the Galaxy S26, it's still more than capable for everyday use and remains a strong performer by 2026 standards.

In terms of specs, the Nothing Phone (3) holds up well, with a vibrant 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, long battery life backed by fast charging, and a versatile quad-camera setup built around four 50MP sensors.

In our testing, the hardware consistently produced impressive images, although we'd still give the edge to Apple and Google when it comes to cutting-edge image processing. Still, for most people, the Phone (3) is still an excellent camera phone.

Of course, specs have never been the main reason to buy a Nothing phone. The real appeal is its distinctive love-it-or-hate-it design. It's very different from the usual iPhone or Galaxy look, and the brand has also carried the industrial design through to its software with its own re-skinned version of Android.

While it's fair to say the Australian TechRadar deal-hunting team gets excited by major sale events such as Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday, we're actually a lot easier to please, and we'll even get excited when deals are still live following the aforementioned events.

That includes myself, so you can only imagine the size of the smile on my face when I found 55 deals my team and I spotted during the recent Prime Day sale in Australia that are still available to shop. Sure, in most cases the sale price is higher than the week-long sale, but in some other cases, the prices have actually dropped below.

It's also pleasing to see Amazon offering extra coupon savings on select products, such as the JBL Flip 7 and JBL Charge 6, which plummet to near-all-time-low figures.

It's also great to see such a spread of product categories, as you'll see below. The usual suspects of headphones and Bluetooth speakers are present, along with a smattering of kitchen appliances and vacuum cleaners — there are some particularly noteworthy deals on robot vacuums. Furthermore, it's also possible to find some tantalising tech for a lot less, as my colleague Nico has found 21 deals under AU$50 that are live on Amazon right now.

A word of warning though, given the fact these deals are still live so close to Prime Day, I don't expect them to last much longer, so this really could be your final choice to grab a bargain before we go an sort of deal hiatus until Black Friday in November.

Amazon Prime Day 2026 in Australia had a flurry of discounts across its product portfolio last week (and early this week too), and robot vacuums saw some of the biggest price reductions at the time, with deals of up to a whopping 78% off. That meant that some of the top sellers were, in fact, robovacs, with the Dreame X40 Ultra being the most popular appliance — so much so, it was out of stock by the last day of the sale.

So while that specific deal is no longer available (it was 73% off, by the way), there are still a lot of robovac deals still live on Amazon, including some of our top-rated models tested and reviewed by our international team of experts, with discounts of up to 70%.

Robot vacuum discounts aren’t new — the market is crowded with several major players looking to stand out and each one releases a new model every few months promising the best features possible at various price points. And that’s good news for the consumer as you’re guaranteed new technology at good prices. With everything else getting more expensive these days, a race-to-the-bottom price war like this is always welcome.

High-capacity NAS drives are far from cheap, so it's often easy to focus on the sticker price rather than the long-term value. I was looking through a selection of NAS drives on sale at Best Buy and Newegg when something occurred to me.

Although the 24TB Seagate IronWolf Pro costs the most upfront at $859.99 down from $911.99, it actually works out at just $35.83 per terabyte, the lowest price in this selection and a terrific option if you're trying to maximize storage without filling every drive bay.

If 24TB is more than you need, Seagate's 12TB IronWolf Pro offers a more affordable alternative at $459.99, equating to $38.33 per terabyte. It delivers the same Pro-grade platform while keeping the overall cost much lower for smaller home or business NAS systems.

Today's best Seagate and WD NAS deals

Western Digital's WD Red Pro range is always worth considering, and we get a lot of interest whenever the price drops. The 18TB model has been reduced to $784.99 at Newegg, or $43.61 per terabyte.

The slightly smaller 16TB version costs $739.99, which includes a $74.75 (9%) reduction off the usual $814.74, and works out at $46.25 per terabyte.

Both WD drives are great choices for demanding multi-bay storage systems, but neither comes close to Seagate's value on a cost-per-terabyte basis.

Looking purely at capacity, performance, and value, the 24TB IronWolf Pro is easily the drive I'd choose.

You get the largest capacity available here, the lowest storage cost per terabyte, and enough space to postpone future upgrades for much longer than smaller drives.

If your budget can stretch to $859.99 for a single NAS drive, then this is the one that makes the strongest long-term case, and I have no hesitation at all in recommending it.

It seems Google is taking a page out of Samsung's book by launching sign-ups for a new generation of smartphones today. The Google Pixel 11 has already been confirmed via a new landing page on the official retailer's store page, with preorders for the new device (or devices) landing on Wednesday, August 12.

Interestingly, Google is offering an 'exclusive offer' for new subscribers who sign up for email alerts ahead of preorders. This is a first for Google's product launches, but it's something we've seen quite a lot with Samsung's big phone launches.

The usual drill is to sign up for email alerts ahead of the keynote event — in this case, Google's 'Made by Google' event in August — and you'll get a small bonus when you preorder. There are no details on what this bonus is yet, but I've attached some speculation just down below.

In terms of the devices, again, we don't know much here. Google has confirmed that it's the Google Pixel 11, but hasn't specifically said how many devices there will be. I would personally be shocked if there wasn't a Pro or Pro XL device, though. There might even be a new Google Pixel 11 Fold, so we could in fact be in store for four new Google phones.

What could the 'exclusive offer' be?

The only tidbit of information I've been able to glean from the Google Pixel 11 announcement page is that you can 'sign up and save'. That's pretty vague, but I can realistically see this going two ways, based on similar promotions from Samsung recently.

First, this exclusive offer could be a small bonus on top of the various trade-in rebates we'll undoubtedly see featured when the devices are available to preorder. It could be something like getting a $100 / £100 extra discount when you trade in an older device.

Secondly, and more likely, is some kind of Google Store credit as a bonus. When Samsung has offered this previously, we've seen the official store bundle in a bit of credit to spend on things like phone chargers, cases, and even other devices.

If a new Google Watch appears during the event, then it could be the case that you could use the credit to get a nice little discount. If memory serves, the credit is usually $30 to $50 / £30 to £50, so it's not a huge deal, but it is a nice little bonus.

What do we know about the Google Pixel 11?

Right now, the biggest rumor surrounds a new ‘Pixel Glow’ feature, which is supposedly a new kind of ambient lighting alert system. If you take a look at Google's landing page for the Pixel 11, you can see a teaser image of the device featuring a multicolored lens on the camera hump. Some have suggested that this could be a confirmation of Pixel Glow, and that seems likely to me too.

The teaser also has a rather striking shiny gold color, which is something we haven't seen before on Google devices. Dare I say this color reminds me of the iPhone 16 Pro, which had a very, very similar gold option.

Speaking of colors, an Amazon leak a few days ago seemed to suggest multiple new colors on four devices. It appears like these leaks could be legit, but it's worth treating them with a pinch of salt because the listings appeared to suggest that the devices will be launching with Android 16 when they'll almost certainly be Android 17.

Samsung's 990 EVO Plus is one of our favorite internal SSDs around, and great pick for upgrading your desktop or laptop without paying crazy prices. Better still, Amazon has discounted the 990 EVO Plus capacities — 1TB, 2TB, and in the US, the 4TB too — to suit your storage needs and budget.

For example, the 1TB version now costs $245 (was $290), delivering read speeds up to 7,250MB/s. In the UK, the same drive has dropped to £182 (was £228) at Amazon.

But whichever capacity you choose, you're getting the same fast PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 compatibility, allowing the drive to work across a wide range of modern desktops and laptops.

Sequential read speeds reach up to 7,150MB/s for the 1TB model (7,250MB/s for the 2TB and 4TB versions), while writes hit up to 6,300MB/s, making large file transfers, application loading, and boot times far quicker than with older SSDs.

Samsung also includes Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 technology to sustain performance during large transfers, alongside a nickel-coated controller that improves thermal efficiency.

That helps the drive stay cooler while using less power, which will be particularly useful in compact laptops where heat can become an issue.

Another advantage is Samsung's Magician software, which keeps firmware up to date, monitors drive health, and provides additional management tools to help maintain performance over time. It's a useful extra that many other drives don't match.

Picking the right capacity is obviously important. The 1TB model is an affordable upgrade for everyday use, the 2TB version offers plenty of room for games, creative projects, and growing media libraries, and the 4TB drive is ideal if you regularly work with huge video files or simply want enough storage to avoid upgrading again for years.

Whether you're replacing an aging SSD or building a new PC, Samsung's 990 EVO Plus is a great storage choice, and an easy recommendation from me.

Going by leaks and what Samsung has teased so far, we're pretty confident that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 is about to be announced. Seeing that this is coming, Amazon is attempting to shift its remaining stock of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 by slashing the price to an incredible low of £154.79 (was £319).

With less than a dozen devices available at the time of writing, though, there's no way this offer is going to last very long. So, I'd move fast if you want to get the wearable we called "the best mainline Galaxy Watch in ages" in our 4.5-star review.

Is the Galaxy Watch 8 worth it?

At this clearance price, it's very hard to argue against. Sure, the new Galaxy Watch 9 is almost certainly about to be announced next week at Samsung Unpacked, but it will cost at least twice as much as this model at its discounted price.

Previous offers on the Galaxy Watch 8 haven't come anywhere near to this low, so chances are it will never be beaten and never be seen again once stock runs out.

For such an advanced and well-rated smartwatch, it's easily one of the best deals of the year. If you're happy picking up some slightly older but still incredibly capable tech, especially if you're a fitness and health tracking enthusiast, I geninuely don't think you'll find a better bargain than this all year.

I start my day in the office, as I normally do, with a large latte from the nearby coffee shop. It's become a ritual now for my in-office days — a little treat I can look forward to after the commute that sets me up for the day. But with the amount I spend on this each month, I'm starting to wonder if what I really need is a better coffee machine at home.

What also makes me think that this could be the right coffee machine for me is our very positive Breville the Barista Express review. It was awarded an impressive 4.5 stars out of five for its ease of use, the variety of adjustable settings, and great results.
