We liked
At this price point, 2,000MHz memory performance is very impressive indeed. Clocked up 2GHz and running single-application benchmarks, the Kingston HyperX 2,000MHz absolutely flies. That frequency headroom also means there's plenty of scope for CPU overclocking. Plus, this kit is not bad running single applications at the default 1,333MHz setting, either.
We disliked
No to put too fine a point on it, but 3GB isn't quite enough memory for heavy duty computing. And heavy duty computing is exactly what most owners of Intel's top-drawer X58 triple-channel platform will expect to be doing. A 6GB kit is required to eradicate all evidence of performance-sapping disk swapping.
