A large and comfortable desktop replacement, but poor multimedia credentials
The Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) Lifebook T1010 (£1067 inc. VAT) is a Tablet PC with a regular keyboard and a screen that rotates 180 degrees to the left or right, and folds flat for data entry when you're on the move. With a glossy-white patterned finish, it's an attractive machine aimed at corporate users.
Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) has an extensive laptop range that covers business and consumer markets. The Amilo Pi 3540 (£699 inc. VAT) features a unique design, great screen and strong usability, but is let down by basic mobility and mixed performance.
The Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pa 3553 (£699 inc. VAT) is a semi-portable laptop aimed at the consumer market. It's the first machine we've seen to feature AMD's latest M780G platform, which brings with it a host of new processors and updated graphics options.
With so much attention being paid to the mini-laptop segment of the market, it may seem that manufacturers are ignoring the higher-end ultraportable end of the market. So the Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook P8010 (£1657 inc. VAT) arrives as a timely reminder.
Fujitsu Siemens' Esprimo range is designed for the business user, with products offering mobility, strength and usability. With an affordable price tag and lack of features, the Esprimo Mobile V5505 (£453 inc. VAT) fits in at the low-end of the range and is one of the cheapest machines here.
The Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Xi 2550 (£999 inc. VAT) is aimed at the casual gamer who doesn’t need two graphics cards or the fastest possible performance. As such, it’s a lot more affordable than much of the competition and its smaller size is more practical for day-to-day use.
Fujitsu Siemens has placed a little too much emphasis on entry-level laptops of late, but the Amilo Si 2636 (£699 inc. VAT), while having an affordable price tag, is anything but cheap.
The Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5515 (£370 inc. VAT) is aimed at the business user looking for a budget priced machine, either to roll out to a large team, or to use as a basic portable laptop. The screen is a standard 15.4-inch TFT panel instead of a Super-TFT screen. This means that you won’t find a glossy coating, which is great if you intend to use your laptop out and about for long periods at a time.
