Apple iPad mini 2 with Retina display release, pricing and carrier details

iPad mini 2
Carriers have the same slate, but different data options

Apple unveiled the iPad mini 2 with Retina display, and if you've been eagerly waiting for this puppy since Apple's first small slate broke cover, then this is a happy day for you.

There's a host of pricing options for the tiny tablet, which has nothing more specific than a release time frame of "later in November."

For Wi-Fi only configurations, customers will pay $399 for 16GB, $499 for 32GB, $599 for 64GB and $699 for 128GB.

For Wi-Fi plus cellular, customers will have to fork over $529 for 16GB, $629 for 32GB, $729 for 64GB and $829 for 128GB.

As for which carriers are offering up the new iPad mini with cellular, read on. We've even got the all-important pricing info on how much monthly data options will cost you.

Which carriers have the iPad mini 2?

AT&T - Ma Bell is naturally part of this iDevice launch and will carry the iPad mini 2 when it becomes available. Customers can choose three monthly data plans - 250MB for $14.99, 3GB for $30 and 5GB for $50.

Verizon - Big Red comes in with its own trio of data offers for the new iPad mini. For $20 you get 1GB a month, $30 will nab you 2GB per month and $50 scores 5GB of monthly data.

T-Mobile - The Un-carrier made a surprising move and decided to offer customers 200MB of monthly iPad mini 2 data for free. Zip, nada, zero. Keep in mind that 200MB won't get you very far, but it's a slick price, especially for first-time T-Mo customers. The company is also offering 2.5GB for $30/month and 4.5GB for $40/month.

While previously having T-Mobile coverage may have not been very tantalizing, the carrier recently announced that its 4G LTE coverage now extends to more than 200 million U.S. residents, a feat it accomplished in about nine month's time.

Sprint - Last but not least, Sprint has a slightly cheaper take on Verizon's pricing scheme. Customers can tackle 1GB of data for $14.99/month, 3GB for $34.99/month and a cool 6GB for $49.99/month.

Apple Store - Both online and in brick-and-motor locations, you can pick up the iPad mini 2 when it releases next month. Just take heed there may be long wait times.

U.S. Cellular - Not many details are available for the new iPad over at this regional carrier. The tablet is "coming soon," and U.S. Cellular often has special offers or discounts with its devices. Keep an eye out for any here.
