Panda Internet Security 2009 offers a wide selection of tools, including rootkit protection, an anti-malware engine, Instant Messenger protection, a personal firewall and a host of anti-phishing, anti-spam and anti-spyware tools.
This latest edition moves with the times and instead of just blocking threats and scanning for infections, it uses what is called a Collective Intelligence engine.
This is a database, or white-list, created by users, which means that threats can be detected and dealt with a lot quicker.
Scanning times have also been improved, making this is a great package.
While this all works smoothly, we found the software to be something of a resource hog, so it isn't the best solution for older or more entry-level laptops.
