Acer's massive 32-inch panel gives you a lot of monitor for your money, but is bigger necessarily better?
Whether it's gaming or movies, it seems the whole world is going mad for stereoscopic 3D. With that in mind, the 3D-capable Acer GD245HQ is probably the monitor of the moment.
At nearly £400, the new 27-inch Acer S273HL looks rather lonely. It's much more expensive than budget-oriented 27-inch monitors such as Iiyama's E2710HDS. And yet it's significantly cheaper than Dell's high-end U2711 uber panel.
We're not going to be harsh on Acer for wrapping this 24-incher in a sparkly orange costume. It's a slightly adolescent look. But at least it has pizzazz.
Compared with the new ViewSonic VX2435wm, the Acer looks like a bit of a poor relation, despite costing a few extra pounds. For starters, the grey plastic finish looks a little dull and uninspiring.
