  1. Arcam Solo Movie 2.1 System review

Arcam Solo Movie 2.1 System review

Our recent poll revealed that many of you (39 per cent) are content to watch movies and listen to music on 2.1 systems – two front speakers reinforced at the bottom-end with a subwoofer. Such a system can never get close to the full aural envelope that a quality 5.1 rig can achieve, but it’s clear that in the real world, some kind of compromise has to be struck between quality and quantity.

DVD is now indisputably a commodity product, with players available for the cost of the newly released movie that you might play on them. So why would you pay £2,000 for a player that doesn't even support high-def? Arcam has the answer

A grand don't come for free, as the Street's Mike Skinneronce said, and it's certainly a lot of money for a DVD player. Moreover this isthe price you will actually pay, because of Arcam's limited distribution means
