This is Panasonic's 14th compact of 2007
Bijou as it is, the dimensions allow room for a 3-inch screen
The zoom moves at a smooth and steady pace without any nasty steps
The intelligent Auto mode selected an ISO of 800 here, resulting in a grainy image. The white balance is on the warm side
There is some colour fringing around the spider's body but we would expect a lot more. This is witness to the quality of the Leica lens
The Panasonic works best in bright light when low ISO values can be used. By turning on the forced flash, the FX55 has made every drop of water sparkle
