The PowerShot G9 feels and works like a professional camera, but it's small enough to fit in your pocket
Even with the image filling the screen on a computer monitor, it's possible to see the beginnings of granularity in the sky at ISO 400
The high ISO settings and the image stabiliser make it possible to shoot using the available light rather than relying on the built-in flash
A little negative EV compensation has kept the clouds within the sensor's dynamic range, though the colours do look quite weak
