On paper Dell's 3706MC looks like it could be one of the more successful PC-to- AV crossover products we've come across. It's got a digital tuner built in, it's HD Ready, it packs an impressive sounding 30W of audio power
PC into LCD TV won't go - least that's the mantra we've chanted during our previous encounters with PC manufacturers who've had a stab at the LCD TV game.Yet on paper, this 32in offering from Dell looks set to buck the trend.
If you can make an LCD PC monitor, you can make an LCD TV. Or so think many traditional PC brands. Actually our own experiences of TV offerings from PC folk have seldom been inspiring. But maybe, just maybe, Dell's W3202 will be an exception.
Just as the early days of DVD opened a window for countless 'third-tier' brands from the Far East to chance their arms in the UK, so the irresistible rise of LCD has seen brands you'd normally associate with PC hardware suddenly vying for space.
Perhaps inevitably there's something a little 'PC-esque' about Dell's W3202MC's design. The screen is surrounded by an extremely slender, but otherwise unremarkable and plasticky, silver bezel - just like a PC monitor.
Since one of Dell's boasts on its website has been its widescreen 24in LCD PC monitor,it was only a matter of time before the computer giant added a few inches and inserted a TV tuner.So although this 26in LCD TV will sit well in a lounge...
