Edge LED and Full HD team-up to produce solid hi-def pictures, but those without top quality sources could struggle to love this low-priced 40-incher.

Some TVs stand out from the crowd with their designs, while others rely on their features. Others use high performance levels to tempt you. The Hannspree XV32 GT, though, goes the classic price route, reeling you in with the promise of 32in of good-looking flatscreen LCD TV for just £400

    HANNspree JT01-32E2 review

    6

HANNspree has a decent reputation for affordable digital gear and this is its latest attempt to crack the budget LCD market. The JT01-32E2-000G also goes by the slightly more manageable 'XV32' designation, and is admirably well specified given its price, with an HD Ready resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and a brace of HDMI inputs chief among its assets.

    HANNspree HANNSvibe review

The HANNSvibe is so quintessentially 1960s in appearance we were expecting to see images of the Fab Four flickering in the Test Labs, along with a 60s 007.

This 32in LCD set from Taiwanese brand HANNspree caters for those people who don't need (or can't afford) loads of flashy, cutting-edge features. The stripped-down spec means the XV32 retails for just £359

HANNspree is going back to basics with the XV32, a 32in LCD TV that strips out the bells and whistles to reach a buyer-baiting price tag. This cut-price approach explains the lack of a digital tuner, which could limit its lifespan with analogue switch-off just around the corner.

    HANNSpree HANNSlounge review

    6

HANNSpree specialises in creating TVs that look different: but while TVs shaped like apples or basketballs are certainly destined for a market that that can be generously described as 'niche', the HANNSlounge is unusual in a good way

    HANNSpree HANNSnara review

    6

Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? Well, no, but names, like style, are superficial concepts so don't take any notice that the HANNSnara is part of the company's Style range, as looks-wise, it ain't all that

If the nation's favourite Time Lord had popped into his Tardis and swung back to the '60s, whipped out his sonic screwdriver, tinkered with a TV, and then whisked it back to the present day, there's a strong chance that it would look like the HANNSvibe

    HANNSpree HANNSnara review

    6

The HANNSnara is part of Taiwanese manufacturer HANNSpree's Style range. But some will say that style isn't in abundance here. By HANNSpree's standards the HANNSnara isn't unusual looking - after all, it's not shaped like fruit, basketballs or wildlife

If Andy Warhol had designed an LCD TV, chances are it would have looked like this 32-inch TV from Taiwanese manufacturer HANNspree. The distinctive Pop Art-inspired retro look of the HANNSvibe makes a refreshing change

HANNspree aims to create aesthetically eclectic TVs that are adeparture from their 'design safe' rivals and this lifestyle-ledapproach is evident in the 32in HANNSvibe, that owes its design to theprinciples of 1960s pop art

The design of this 32in LCD TV is inspired by pop art, giving it a distinctive retro look. The black and white colour scheme and elegant curves make it the kind of TV you can imagine Twiggy watching back in the Swinging Sixties

While most manufacturers follow the herd, with their straight lines and black or silver finishes, HANNspree brings the fun back into TV design. Its global range includes sets in the shape of giraffes, fire engines and even basketballs
