Looking for an inexpensive and reliable broadband deal? Well, TalkTalk may be the perfect provider as it specialises in reliable deals that don't break the bank.

TalkTalk also offers a great range of package options including an ADSL deal (only available in non-fibre areas), a couple of reasonably priced fibre packages, and a great range of Full Fibre deals.

Below you'll find a comprehensive rundown of all the company's internet plans, as well as answers to several popular reader questions about TalkTalk's offering. Simply looking to switch to TalkTalk today? The widget at the bottom of this guide can help you do just that in only a couple of clicks.

Why should I consider switching to TalkTalk?

As we mentioned above, TalkTalk's best trait is its affordability. It offers deals that are much cheaper than those at the top end of the market like Sky, BT and Virgin. Plus, it even rivals Vodafone in value when it comes to fibre packages.

Past its affordable pricing, TalkTalk goes strong on speeds, offering a great selection of fibre and superfast fibre options. Plus, for an increased fee, broadband and TV deals are also available. These offer a collection of different channels, including Sky Sports and Sky Atlantic via NOW TV.

That said, we should stress that one area where TalkTalk traditionally struggles is customer service, although this isn't uncommon for broadband providers. The company averages just 3.0/5 on Trustpilot, from nearly 80,000 reviews. To make matters worse, 45% of these reviews are only one star.

What broadband packages does TalkTalk offer?

It's one of the trickier decisions you'll have to make when choosing your broadband deal - do you save money with a standard fibre broadband package or splurge on something a lot faster that will offer better performance? Your options with TalkTalk are as follows:

TalkTalk Fast Broadband | 11Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 24 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Fast Broadband | 11Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 24 months
This is TalkTalk's <a href="https://www.techradar.com/broadband/what-is-adsl-broadband" data-link-merchant="techradar.com"" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"">ADSL package and it's reserved for homes and businesses that can’t access its fibre network yet. This means that you can't select this package if your property is eligible to receive a fibre connection. As you might expect, it provides slow download speeds of 11Mbps on average and is only suitable for light use, such as basic browsing.

TalkTalk Fibre 35 | 38Mbps download speed | From £26 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Fibre 35 | 38Mbps download speed | From £26 a month for 18 months
This is TalkTalk's entry-level fibre package and it provides average download speeds of 38Mbps. Although it's a basic fibre package, you can still connect 3-5 devices. As an added bonus, your Wi-Fi Hub is included in the price and you also receive free TalkTalk to TalkTalk calls.

TalkTalk Fibre 65 | 67Mbps download speed | From £26 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Fibre 65 | 67Mbps download speed | From £26 a month for 18 months
If you live in a busy and connected household (but you're not in a Full Fibre area), then you may benefit from TalkTalk's Fibre 65 package. This is particularly the case because, at the moment, despite being almost twice as fast as the company's Fibre 35 package, it costs the same amount! With this option, more family members will be able to get online at the same time. Plus, it's also ideal if you work from home and need to video call regularly.

TalkTalk Full Fibre 65 | 77Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Full Fibre 65 | 77Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 18 months
If your property can access a full fibre connection, then you can upgrade to TalkTalk's Full Fibre 65 package. With this particular deal, you'll receive average download speeds of 77Mbps. However, it's important to know that this package is data only, meaning there's no phone line.

TalkTalk Full Fibre 150 | 152Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Full Fibre 150 | 152Mbps download speed | From £28 a month for 18 months
If you're looking for something seriously fast, then take a look at TalkTalk's Full Fibre 150 package. This impressive package offers average download speeds of 152Mbps, meaning it's 4x faster than standard fibre. Plus, when you take out this particular deal, you also receive a free Amazon eero 6 router with dual-band Wi-Fi 6. This deal is particularly impressive because, at the moment, it costs the same as Full Fibre 65!

TalkTalk Full Fibre 500 | 525Mbps download speed | From £39 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Full Fibre 500 | 525Mbps download speed | From £39 a month for 18 months
TalkTalk's Full Fibre 500 package is perfect for ultra-busy homes. It provides average download speeds of 525Mbps and it's 13x faster than standard fibre broadband. You can easily connect and manage 75+ devices and you get a free Amazon eero Pro 6 mesh system with Tri-band Wi-Fi 6, all for £39 per month.

TalkTalk Full Fibre 900 | 944Mbps download speed | From £49 a month for 18 months

<a href="https://go.redirectingat.com/?id=92X363&xcust=hawk-custom-tracking&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fnew.talktalk.co.uk%2Fbroadband%2Fcompare-deals&sref" data-link-merchant="SkimLinks - talktalk.co.uk"" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">TalkTalk Full Fibre 900 | 944Mbps download speed | From £49 a month for 18 months
This is TalkTalk's fastest package and it provides average download speeds of 944Mbps. That makes it 24x faster than standard fibre broadband! If you're looking for some of the fastest speeds on the market at an affordable price, this could be the package for you.

TalkTalk UK coverage

TalkTalk is another broadband provider that uses the Openreach network which currently offers fibre broadband to 99% of UK homes and businesses. As such it’s likely you’ll be able to get its fibre packages.

However, the ‘Full Fibre’ rollout is still ongoing and has so far reached over 12.5 million properties, so you will need to check with TalkTalk if you can get such a connection. Openreach is aiming to reach 85% of the nation’s premises by December 2026.

What are TalkTalk’s customer services like?

TalkTalk’s customer services leave something to be desired. A quick look at customer reviews and sites like Trustpilot will show you that there are a fair few complaints about the speed of its services, specifically how quickly it resolves problems.

The latest Ofcom complaints report isn’t particularly flattering about TalkTalk either. It is the second-most complained-about provider after Vodafone, with 18 complaints issued per 100,000 customers.

That said, it does offer support across multiple channels including phone, email, SMS, its app and via its online dashboard and forums.

It's also worth noting that lots of different internet service providers (including the ones at the top end of the market) also struggle in this regard. The sad reality is that customers are much more likely to rate their internet connection when they have a problem and fail to leave a review when it performs as expected.

How reliable is TalkTalk’s broadband service?

As mentioned above, TalkTalk uses the Openreach network, which is one of the most dependable in the UK. Interruptions and issues are rare on this network and any problems tend to be resolved fairly quickly.

Your download and upload speeds can of course vary depending on your location, how you’re using the internet and the time you’re using it, but generally speaking, TalkTalk is a highly reliable choice.

Can I order TalkTalk broadband deals over the phone?

TalkTalk recommends that you order on their website (and we can confirm that this process is very simple). However, you can also call the company and complete your order that way.

To reach the company's dedicated call centre, dial 0800 0499999. Then, one of TalkTalk's customer service representatives will take you through the entire process. The call centre is open 9 am until 7 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am until 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

What TalkTalk broadband and TV packages can I add?

If you're looking for a one-stop broadband and TV shop, then TalkTalk is your friend. This is because TalkTalk provides a number of TV add-ons, including a TalkTalk TV Hub. For an extra £5 per month, this allows you to watch, pause and rewind TV on 70+ live channels. You'll also get access to all 10,000+ apps on Google Play, including NOW, Netflix and Prime Video (separate subscriptions apply).

Added to this, you can also choose to include a number of TalkTalk TV and NOW Memberships to your package on a monthly basis, including NOW Cinema, NOW Entertainment, NOW Sports and NOW Hayu. If you prefer, you also have the option to mix and match Netflix and NOW Memberships.

How long will my TalkTalk broadband contract last?

TalkTalk's broadband deals used to be pretty flexible. But, much like many other providers, the company now mainly offers longer-term deals. As of April 2024, the company is specialising in 18-month contracts. However, although these contracts are rather long, they do keep the monthly cost down.

Do I get a TalkTalk landline?

Every TalkTalk broadband package used to come with a landline included in the price. However, sadly this is no longer the case.

Now, the majority of the company's plans come without a phone line. In fact, none of the company's Full Fibre data-only packages support a landline.

If you do need a landline, options are still available. If you're interested, the company suggests that you call them on 08000 496253. A member of the customer services team will talk you through the best options for your needs.
