Sony Ericsson's Satio finally available to UK public

Updated: read our full Sony Ericsson Satio review.

The Sony Ericsson Satio has finally been released to the UK market, bringing with it the most technology the brand has ever packed into one device.

Vodafone is the only operator offering the Satio for purchase at the moment, although Orange has slapped a 'coming soon' sign on the phone for it site.

The likelihood is the other major operators, T-Mobile and O2, will be stocking the Satio as well, although we've yet to hear when this will happen.

The Satio brings a 12.1MP camera with a Xenon and LED flash, as well as GPS and a widescreen touch display, all based on Symbian S60 5th edition OS.

Hefty price for a hefty device

Vodafone is offering the phone on a pretty hefty £35 or £40 per month contract for 24 months, although the handset itself is free.

There's no word from Orange what sort of price plan it will offer the Satio on, but it's likely to be in a similar range. If you're after the phone SIM free (or you've just got bored of your iPhone's rubbish camera) you can do so for £515.

We'll be bringing you our full and in-depth review on the Sony Ericsson Satio in the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for the definitive verdict.

3. Well, i got the Satio about 8 months ago. At first I loved it. It had everything I wanted in a mobile phone. There were no problems with it, very easy to use, but soon it started to play up a little. I found the internet very slow, the camera is immence though, the bottons dont always respond and have to be pressed a few times, the touchscreen isnt very accurate, and when pressing the media icon, the internet almost always starts up instead costing me quite alot of money. It scratches very easily and the wireless internet and radio etc functions arent very good at all. I am on a 24 month contract, but I dont think I can wait that long to get a new phone. I and getting very annoyed with it, and would give it 2/10. Its redeeming factors are that it is very light, the camera is brilliant, and the memory is very, very good.

2. I work at Carphone and we've been selling it on Orange since Saturday. £30 24 month contract, 600 mins, unlimited text. Been playing with it all weekend; it's a superb phone, highly recommended

1. You may be able to to talk Vodafone into other tariffs that are not on their website...

30GBP for 300 mins on 24 month contract was good enough for me to order one.
