For a few pence you can transform your iPhone into just about anything you can think of by shopping for a new little bit of software in the App Store, but don't forget that you can also add hardware to an iPhone too.
These iPhone accessories are actually easier to give as gifts anyway - you can't gift someone an app, but you can easily wrap a nice set of speakers or a battery extender and pop it under the tree.
We asked the experts at MacFormat, the UK's biggest Mac magazine, to pick the twelve best iPhone accessories that any iPhone owner would love to receive - and here they are.
1. Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2, £74
This set of speakers are iPhone certified - they're shielded so you don't get interference from the mobile phone signal - and sound terrific. What's more, they come with UK/EU plugs and a built-in 10-hour battery - perfect for travelling.

2. Mophie Juice Pack, £65
It's fair to criticise the iPhone's battery - though not bad in itself, you tend to use an iPhone so heavily that it can quickly run down. This 1800mAh battery sled more than doubles battery life to give you peace of mind on an overnight trip.

3. Incipio Feather, £10
With so many cases available for the iPhone, how on earth do you pick one? With our help, of course! This very light, slim case protects the rear of your iPhone from scratches. Available in a range of colours, the soft-touch finish feels great.

4. Jawbone Prime, £76
There's not much you can actually do with the Bluetooth in an iPhone, but thankfully you can at least use a Bluetooth headset. This compact, stylish model from Jawbone uses phenomenal noise-reduction tech to let your voice ring out clear as day.

5. iTunes vouchers, from £15
The App Store is packed with phenomenal apps to help convert your iPhone indo any one of 100,000 gadgets. Sadly, you can't currently send a specific app to someone as a gift, so you'll have to settle for Store vouchers instead.

6. Belkin TuneBase FM with Hands-Free, £59
If you're not lucky enough to have a car with a system that will integrate an iPhone into your stereo, this is a cheap way to do it. It not only charges your iPhone, but broadcasts its music over FM to your stereo, and works as a handsfree kit for voice calls too.
