You usually have to compromise on audio quality when you pick a set of headphones that also includes a hands-free mic and clicker buttons to control iPhone audio playback, but that's not true with the hf2s. A little thin, perhaps, but very high fidelity.
8. Griffin AirCurve, £11
Sure, you can buy a powered iPhone speaker dock if you want to give your tunes a bit more oomph, but that uses up electricity. Instead, you could opt for this cheap passive amplifier, based on a gramophone horn.
9. Nike+ trainers, £41
The iPhone 3GS (and the latest-generation iPod touch) has built into it a receiver for the fitness-tracking Nike+ device. Buy a pair of Nike+ compatible trainers, slip in a transmitter, and you can track how far and how fast you've run, and set or participate in global challenges.

With the addition of a third-party app, you can turn your iPhone into a sat-nav device. But you need to power your iPhone, keep it in your eyeline, and hear the spoken prompts. This GPS-boosting car kit might be pricey, but it's superb.
