45 lumens - ooooh, that's sort of a bit bright

The new Adapt 305 pico projector has been launched in the UK, being touted as the 'world's brightest pico projector'.

At 45 lumens, it certainly is bright, considering that other pico projectors thus far have been paddling around 11-20 lumens.

It also packs a direct VGA link to laptops, so you can easily take a presentation with you wherever you go. There's also 4GB of onboard storage should you want to ditch the laptop altogether.

Ooh, swapping - that's hot

If you're into hot-swapping, then a microSD slot will also let you add your own content to the device, meaning you can turn any tent into a pseudo drive-in experience.

Adapt is claiming that the 305 can project 100-inch images from a distance of under four metres, but we're pretty sure you'll struggle to see much of that in normal light.

However, push things a little closer to a wall (or your mate's back) and you'll be able to present or show movies or whatever you fancy - complete with tinny sound thanks to dual 0.5W speakers on the projector.

It's not cheap at £303 (exc VAT), but if you're interested in tiny lights and portable images, you may be in luck.

2. Although these 2 projectors share the same housing, thats about all they have in commun. The Aaxa does not use the same projecton system as the Adapt 305 which is why the adapt is the worlds brightest pocket projector.

Its always worth having extra onboard memory and 4gb makes all the difference when it comes to watching videos - the last thing you want is to missing the last 15mins of your movie because the onbaord memory cant fit it all on and do you really want to be carrying lots of micro SD cards around to fit them all on. Not only does cost mount up but you also can easily loose these tiny litte cards.

If your buying in the EU there is virtually no price difference by the time you've added on 31.5% of duty and vat and then the handling charge on top so its best to go for the Adapt.

Overall if you want the best then the Adapt 305 is the one to go for in terms of brghtness, price and ensuring you have as future proofed model as you can get right now.

1. This is almost the exact same as the AAXA P2 projector (www.aaxatech.com)- it looks like that's 45 peak lumens not ANSI lumens. For the extra $130 you're getting 4GB of ram - a nice feature too have but a bit pricey for what it is...
