OK, so it may not be the official PSP phone the world and its fanboys appears to have been waiting for, but at least it shows Sony what can be done.
A chap in Japan has opened up his PSP (a feat in itself) and hacked out the useless UMD drive.
Even that alone would be worth writing about, but the guy then managed to put a HAIER touchscreen mobile phone in the back.
Calls on the PSP!
Now he can make and receive calls and basically do all the things you would on a mobile, and then flip it over to play a few levels of his favourite PSP title (let's say Lumines, which is a great title).
The one question…how does he charge the mobile when it runs out?
