It’s a tricky thing, the old rumour. We don’t even have the 3G iPhone confirmed, yet already there is talk about this feature and that feature being in it; whether it’s going to come here first, or to that country before all others.
The chaps over at CNET have made a pretty good case for why the new model WON’T be over here any time soon, but it seems they may have jumped the gun a little bit.
Our pals at T3.com have picked up some info from O2 insiders that the company is expecting a hectic day 9 June, and will be “very busy” the first week of July, the anticipated date of release for the new iPhone.
Hype: is it too much?
Never before has a phone gained this much hype before it’s even been announced, and while Apple’s market share has dipped in the US at least, the rival devices from HTC and Blackberry (the Touch Diamond and the Bold respectively) must be quaking in their pre-release boots somewhat.
Make sure you check back to TechRadar regularly in the build up to the launch, as we’ll be publishing all the good (and not-so-good) rumours before our in-depth coverage on Monday.

2. Compare Apple iPhone 3G deals
The new 3G iPhone will be launched in the UK on July 11. Despite being expensive, the original iPhone sold 6 million units before it completely sold out. The new iPhone 3G promises to be more affordable. It will be available in 8GB and 16GB form and there will be a special edition white version available.
The iPhone 3G has the same 3.5 inch touchscreen. It has tapered edges and a glossy plastic back. The headphone jack is now flush to the phone and sound quality has been improved.
With built-in GPS the iPhone 3G integrates with Google Maps to provide live tracking. Browsing the web will be much faster thanks to 3G. Apple claim that browsing on the iPhone 3G is 36% faster than on the Nokia N95.
The iPhone 3G also has improved battery life. It will provide 300 hours standby, or 5 hours of 3G talk time, or 5 hours of web browsing, or 24 hours of audio playback.

1. Oh god,
I wish the iPhone would just launch so we can find out what it does and doesn't have.
I'm sick of all these rumours, but I still lap them all up. Damn you, the internet. If I knew where you lived I'd come and shake my fist oustide your window.
